"It was tough conditions out here with the wind and the heat over the last three days but, as she has over the last six months, CeCe proved herself to be tough enough to handle it," said head coach Zach Emerson of the performance. "Today was a microcosm of her entire season; she was not going to let anything slow her down. I've never met anybody as strong as her mentally in my entire life."

Texas A&M-Commerce sophomore Minna Sveard took second place, as she posted a personal season-best time of 59.21 seconds. In third place, Central Washington sophomore Sidney Trinidad made it three finishers to post a time of under a minute, as she crossed the line at 59.49 seconds.

So Minna Sveard, Sidney Trinidad, and other unnamed women lose out again to a male person, and coach implies it's because they're not as "mentally strong" as that male person. Such progress!

Well if "the winner's" shorts were shorter "her" bits might fall out!

Orchidoptic · 28/05/2019 07:43

I bet the coach was rubbing his hands with glee when the new nuttiness came out and he could place a man knowing that no one would dare say he wasn’t a woman.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 28/05/2019 07:56

I look forward to the rhythmic gymnastics...

ChristinaBB · 28/05/2019 07:56

We've got to trust people more

Nope. Get lost with the gaslighting.

OhHolyJesus · 28/05/2019 07:58

As Hairy said I can see from the photo in that article that Tefler is not running at full pelt in at least one of the races that Tefler didn't win.

How can you prove that you didn't try your best but just skipped about someone in the middle? You can't prove it.

And trust people more? You're having a laugh.

RussianSpamBot · 28/05/2019 08:34

Caster isnt banned, but I'd agree there's inconsistency in respect of rules for people with Y chromosomes in women's races.

Datun · 28/05/2019 08:37

Ms Telfer ranked 3rd, 6th and 7th in races at this meet.

That reminds me of Sharron Davies concluding that if Rachel McKinnon competed in the men's, it would have to be in the over 70s for them to make a dent. But they can scoop up women's global awards with ease.

Just for the people at the back like sergeilavrov, women are human, you know. In a category of their own, with shared characteristics placing them in that category. The concept of women is a concept in its own right. They are a unique entity. They are not fairly poor athletic men, or artificially weakened men.

Women and girls do not aspire to be men who take drugs to weaken themselves, nor do they aspire to be men who can't compete successfully amongst other men.

Keep out of women's sports.

LetsSplashMummy · 28/05/2019 09:20

The "didn't beat everyone," is such a stupid argument. Women should have the expectations that their competition comes from approx the top 10% of females (those interested, hard working and genetically advantaged in this sport). What is happening, is women are competing against the top 10%of women and anyone with gender feelings from the top 50% of men. This makes it harder for the women as it broadens the playing field.

The fact the average man can't beat 100% of women doesn't change how unfair it is.

The argument that "some women are taller, than some men," is from the same set of stupid, as are Phelp's feet.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 28/05/2019 16:22

My 12 year old son runs track. He’s decent but not the best. He’s listened to me banging on about GC issues enough to jokingly comment that if he was to identify as a girl, he’d win everything.

My kid’s not transphobic by the way. There’s a trans girl in his form who is treated respectfully by all the kids.

It really disturbs me seeing all the girls working so hard at DS’s athletic club, knowing that a cheat could simply wipe. the floor with them.

Ms Telfer ranked 3rd, 6th and 7th in races at this meet.

So she is not just a mediocre male athlete she is just a mediocre athlete.

TemporaryPermanent · 28/05/2019 17:22

I was the worst of 16, once. I was the last person to be picked for the least important place in my university reserve rowing crew. As a result of just managing to beat the 17th woman, I had months of top level coaching, a new level of competitive experience, fitness advice and access to better facilities, nutritional advice, lifelong friends, a change of career direction.

To exclude me from all that opportunity, a male rower didn't have to come first among my female colleagues. He would only have had to come 16th. In the women's squad. How many male rowers, in a sport where power differentials are so brutal that there have to be entire racing categories for men averaging under 11 stone, would not have come at least 16th in that process?

YouJustDoYou · 28/05/2019 17:23

Man's body. Man's body wins against women's bodies. But has a "female mind", so, that makes it ok, then? No...no it doesn't.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 28/05/2019 18:33

DS is good at a few sports. Good but not brilliant. I have a cunning plan...

SpeckofStardust · 28/05/2019 20:26

It would be funny if it weren’t so true! I worked in the dance teaching industry for many years and you’d be surprised (or maybe not) at the number of parents and coaches of competitors who weren’t above fudging ages or grades to enable older or higher level competitors to compete and win at younger or lower level events. From there it’s just another step to pretending a boy is trans to compete with and beat the girls.

MangoesAreMyFavourite · 29/05/2019 07:37

DS is really passionate about running too... he's 13, mediocre but passionate. It would be sooo easy to step to another team and start winning, being wonder girl.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 29/05/2019 07:45

DS also does martial arts. He’s good but not brilliant... I have a very cunning plan...

Loopytiles · 29/05/2019 07:48

This is madness.

Outofinspiration · 29/05/2019 08:26

Man's body. Man's body wins against women's bodies. But has a "female mind", so, that makes it ok, then? No...no it doesn't.

Well exactly. Even if you follow the TWAW argument, it's still a male body, because they have been 'born into the wrong body'.

So what is that male body doing in women's sports?

Birdsfoottrefoil · 29/05/2019 08:35

I don’t get this ‘he came 3rd in some races’ as an argument? My husband is 53, never runs, overweight; he wouldn’t win against top female athletes either but that doesn’t prove that it is fair for men to race against women!

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 29/05/2019 08:47

I have the mind of a goddess. So you lot had better watch out.

justju · 29/05/2019 08:51

I'm unhealthy and have a sore knee, so can I just say I'm disabled and enter the Paralympics?

Bear in mind I'll cry and threaten suicide if you say "no".

"Iran has embraced the concept of sex changes and has put out sports teams full of males in women only events"

A few years ago, an Iranian football official was at a training session for the Iran women's football squad, and noticed that there were a few (not all by any means) obvious, male bodied footballers present. They were removed from the squad and never got to play in any games, let alone tournaments.
If you have ANY evidence of Iran fielding women's teams "full of males", then please provide that evidence, or stop posting deliberate misinformation.

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 29/05/2019 09:12

Isn't transition what gay Iranian men are required to do if they want to avoid the death penalty? Hardly progressive, though at least the gay conversion aspect of it is clear for all to see.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 29/05/2019 09:46

I’m not really sure how true that is. I have mentioned it to a few Iranians who have just looked at me like I’ve sprouted another head. So I’m not really convinced.

I was more pissed by a radio interview with one of the woman national football squad players who couldn’t travel abroad to play in the woman’s league finals because her husband wasn’t let her (it was their kids first day at school and he refused to agree to let her travel as he thought she should be with her kid that day).

Datun · 29/05/2019 09:58

It was certainly my understanding that the Iranian women's football team were fielding transwomen.
