WPUK are currently under attack for posting about Lyra McKee as part of their "Women Icons" series. Lyra is the journalist that was shot dead a few days ago. She was gay and supported trans rights. Thus, a lot of people are angry with WPUK for doing this.

I must admit, I'm on the fence here. I think it's nice for WPUK to post a tribute, but I also think that it may be too soon...

Indeed Sonic. The poor girl was barely cold before the vultures emerged with their agendas. There's someone else sharing old private messages from her in relation to another issue in Irish politics. Just ghoulish and disrespectful.

I also wonder how much people are exaggerating their connection with her, as she seemed to have many friends.

I am starting to doubt how true that statement that Lyra McKee would have been opposed to WPUK is. This is the statement from her family emphasising how much she wanted compromise and inclusivity:
