Hi I'm a long time lurker, who read with disgust the last thread and wants to send , to caro. I've scanned since last thread finished for new one but no luck! Hope no one minds if I start one!

The following are extracts from the General Medical Council's guidance entitled "Good Medical Practice." 22 April 2013:

"When communicating publically, including speaking to or writing in the media ..... you should remember when using social media that communications intended for friends or family may become more widely available."

"You must make sure that your conduct justifies your patients' trust in you and the public's trust in the profession."

As Harrop is bound by the conditions of this document it does make you wonder why he's still practicing given the GMC are aware of his "campaigning" ?

I would absolutely refuse treatment from this person. I like my doctor to be calm. professional, non-judgemental and mature. If I want to take my chances and be treated by somebody driven by ideologies of hate, exclusion and misogyny I'll advertise on Twitter.

There's also a GMC requirement for doctors to declare if their judgement or performance could be affected by a condition or its treatment. I hesitate to carry out an internet diagnosis, but this individual would appear to have various psychological issues . Certainly a barely controlled rage. An inability to be congruent - by demonstrating narcissism and bullying on line with presumably the hiding of these traits with patients. Also an inability to accept difference in others without internalising this and the accompanying rage.

They say they're suing Mumsnet. I can't imagine that will stand up in court, but it'll be interesting to see the evidence presented. The NBP is telling everyone that Mumsnet is full of transphobic abuse, but in court they would need to prove that, and I don't see how they can.

We should probably expect plenty of goady posts fishing for screenshots for the foreseeable future. Bunburry is going to be busy.

As for The Unhinged getting ever more unhinged; for some reason I can’t stop being surprised he really would stoop this low, but that’s just me trying to explain ot rationally, which may not apply.

You really got to them Caro. I am so, so sorry and truely appalled at the abuse you and yours are being subjected to. Of all the abuse we have safly come to expect, this really is off the scale.

I sincerely hope the conversation you had last night is still helping you weather this storm.

lolcow is the name for the people they make a thread about because they're like cows that can be milked for amusement!

That site is scurrilous but it's got some interesting info and timelines on it. Feel like I should wash my hands now I've looked at it. I wonder if Harrop etc don't complain about them publically - or do they? - because who would want to draw attention to what is said about them on there? No careful use of pronouns I noticed.

The account is claiming my screenshot is photoshopped.

2 separate posters (at least) here have got the screenshots.

Additionally they could make a quick written note now of what they saw. If needed, a witness statement, relying on a record made at the time, is perfectly good evidence.

My screenshots have a time on them. Forwarded to the relevant authorities. Someone has to act.
