How disappointing that the times hasn't opened this article for comments. Here's what I'd like to ask him:
Do you accept that there's a difference between sex (biological category) and gender (internal, subjective psychological state some people say they experience)?
Do you accept that in order for competitive sports to make sense, we have to have some sort of concept of fair competition, and what constitutes a level playing field?
Why do you think we have sex-segregated competitions at all?
Do you accept that there are physiological differences in muscular strength, VOmax, anatomy, skeletal shape, etc., between men and women (the biological sex categories), and that these differences are relevant to sporting performance and thus to what constitutes a fair competition?
If you answer yes to these questions (and I find it hard to see how anyone not in the grip of some anti-scientific delusion would answer no to them), how do you defend the conclusion of your article?
Women are not artificially weakened men.
