A school holding a pride parade? That sounds lovely and inclusive. The placards are a tad worrying though...

FFS, what are they being told? Someone hasn't thought it through have they?

MIdgebabe · 24/03/2019 08:51

It’s a lovely dream

One that implies that women and girls can feel and be safe and respected by all men at all time.

Such a lovely dream

exLtEveDallas · 24/03/2019 08:52

What a load of bollocks that sign is. Written by a kid my arse.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 24/03/2019 08:55

Who the fuck thought to get a child to write that (ignoring the fact that they obviously didn't get the kid to practice first)?

I child dreams of boys and girlsA in the same loo's? Puhlease!

If that isn't a perfect example of leading, brain washing, and indeed proselytising I wouldn't recognise a duck on a duck pond!

MsJeminaPuddleduck · 24/03/2019 08:55

That is not the writing of a child - it's the writing of an adult pretending to write like a child

AncientLights · 24/03/2019 08:56

No child has a 'dream' to use a toilet alongside the opposite sex. Rubbish.

MsJeminaPuddleduck · 24/03/2019 08:58

Interesting child that misspells both 'girls' and 'boys' but nails 'toilet'

Bluestitch · 24/03/2019 08:58

Were parents asked to help make the signs? I wonder if someone did it to make a point and the school were daft enough to take it at face value.

MsJeminaPuddleduck · 24/03/2019 09:00

If the parents were helping, bit odd to misspell the words like the child has written it

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 24/03/2019 09:02

To add to my OP as it wasn't clear, I am all for LGB education in schools. Children should learn that some families have two mums, and that same sex relationships are absolutely normal and fine.

The issue is with the conflation of the T.

I do not support children being told that their body might be wrong if they like the wrong things, but that's ok because they can change sex.

I do not support children being told that some boys are actually girls and they should share toilets with them.

The problem is as the T has so parasitically latched onto the LGB it is pretty much impossible to protest this without being told you are homophobic.

It takes a special kind of idiot to get their fake childish spelling quite that wrong, doesn’t it?

For the record, this is the full sign:

“I have a dreem if bois cood go to the saim toilet as gerls.”

‘Cood’ Ffs. Hmm

HandsOffMyRights · 24/03/2019 09:09

Disturbing on every level. I hope there will be a full investigation at the school.

TheLoupGarouCrew · 24/03/2019 09:11

*BtW, I meant ‘Special’ as in ‘rare’. Apologies, I should have picked my words more carefully. The gist is that whoever wrote that sign is not nearly as clever as they think they are. I’m not sure they’re even as clever as I think they are.

StephsCaddy · 24/03/2019 09:12

Why the hell are 4 yrs old having pretend pride parades anyway?
And, yes that sign has clearly been written by an adult pretending to be a child.

TimeLady · 24/03/2019 09:13

Yep, that sign is very disturbing.

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 24/03/2019 09:20

Oh that's hilarious!

Yeah, because every Year 1 kids hopes and dreams revolve around who is using which bog 😂

And anyway, in most schools Reception and Infants share the toilets anyway so this wouldnt even be on the radar of any child of that age. Which makes me wonder (if that child did in fact come up with that themselves which I highly doubt) what have these children been being taught.

Now children, you are incredibly privileged here in Year 1, because boys and girls use the same toilets. However, you have to understand that when you get to Year 3 you will lose that right, and the boys will not be able to go in the same toilet as the girls. There will be separate toilets. Separate.

I know this is upsetting to hear, but children, you are the future, and you must fight for the right for boys to use the same toilet as the girls. It's not a hopeless dream children, and hopefully one day, everyone will be able to go in together...

Now what's next? Ah yes, if you are a boy but you like girly things like pink and glitter then it might mean......

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 24/03/2019 09:20

I can't decide if an adult writing that sign makes it better or worse...

Sexnotgender · 24/03/2019 09:23

That’s weird as fuck.

That’s clearly written by an adult pretending to be a child.

BitOfFun · 24/03/2019 09:26

If that child is so young as to spell so badly, I'd worry they were being brainwashed.

If they're in secondary school, I'd be worried for their education.

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 24/03/2019 09:29

To be fair, the spelling is pretty consistent. They have used the same 'oi' in both 'boy' and 'toilet' and you learn 'oi' before 'oy'. And a child might use 'cood' because they will have learnt that 'oo' sound, although a lot of children go for 'cud'.

Of course none of that means that it isn't totally obvious that that child hasn't come up with that themselves. And it does kind of look like an adult has written it. Which is actually really fucking disturbing!

AstonishedFemalePersonator · 24/03/2019 09:31

Yeah. I totally believe a child wrote that sign.

BadPennyNoBiscuit · 24/03/2019 09:31

You can tell the sign was written by an adult, as (apart from the sentiment) it uses the same spelling for words that are phonetically different - 'bois' and 'saim'.

MsJeminaPuddleduck · 24/03/2019 09:34

The fluidly of the letters (g, a, t etc) suggests it's written by an adult / someone who's not new to writing

Alltheprettyseahorses · 24/03/2019 09:37

No way did a 4yo child write that. It isn't just the fake bad spelling, it's the neatness and lack of back-to-front letters. Pathetic brainwashing.

BettyDuMonde · 24/03/2019 09:37

There is a ‘please flush the toilet’ sign in my local kids hospital drawn by a child. The only word spelled incorrectly is toilet - ‘toliet’.

Another vote for ‘chinny reckon’ on the sign in the OP.
