A school holding a pride parade? That sounds lovely and inclusive. The placards are a tad worrying though...

DS1 (7yo) - "My dream is to go to Legoland hotel." Already booked but he doesn't know yet.
DS2 (5yo) - "I want to play with my baby sister." What he was doing at the time.

Maybe I should make them some signs & teach them to ponder existential issues... Or I could just let them be kids...

No girl I've ever known - since I was a 6yr old girl myself, to now, when I have my own young daughter - has ever expressed a wish to share toilets with boys.

Agree the spelling mistakes are well suspect. An adult wrote that.

categed · 25/03/2019 21:40

I suspect prior lessons had focused on issues people have around sexed toilets, rather than if you could dream anything what would it be...
However i think this is what was really meant...

Ohh hang on.. is it the Christian Legal Centre Hmm involved in this?
this small group have had a serious amount of questions asked about them.

Just from a quick google: this instance with reference to their working with the parents in the Alfie Evans case

I’m not saying the school in this case should not have questions asked too btw.

I welcome her threat to sue, to be honest, though I hate this culture of litigation.

One of the main reasons the TRA agenda has progressed so successfully, is 'cause they are constantly threatening legal action.

We need to fight fire with fire, alas.

I don't care if the organization are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu etc but what I am concerned about is compensation culture.

As soon as someone starts demanding money I am sceptical of their reasons. Particularly in this case where the parent in question is apparently demanding a five-figure sum, which is a considerable amount of money. That means less money for resources for the school.

And, yes, I am aware that it is the school's insurer who will be responsible for the sum. But the schools insurance premium will go up meaning that there is less money in the budget for more important resources.

And the money will only go to enrich the organization. Cui bono?

AstonishedFemalePersonator · 26/03/2019 10:50

Sorry - school's not schools.

I do agree with your basic feelings but I also think things have gone too far just by drift and inertia. The stakes need to be raised and unfortunately a sizeable compensation claim is one of the only options. It's a signal to all organisations not just schools and unfortunately it's only Christian groups I wouldn't usually support who have the funds for litigation. I've signed petitions, written to my MP replied to consultations and still the trans juggernaut rolls on with the aid of gov grants and lottery money.

Could not agree more.

This culture of litigation is awful. But I agree with what has been said - given that the knee jerk reaction of TRAs is consistently threats of violence, intimidation and threats to 'sue' it won't be until there are some legal precedents that we will ever have clarity.
Schools need to understand that they have a duty to remain neutral - promoting British values but not promoting political lobby group's views / wishes. Sadly it appears that those with money are the excessively well funded T groups and religious groups.
