www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6843269/How-hate-crime-officers-came-knocking-door-devout-Catholic.html

I think the paper edition may have more, as the online version doesn't appear to have this graphic

Caroline's Mail on Sunday Piece is Out

I thought Caroline was writing the piece? Either way, I will buy any paper that covers this story fairly.

ClingFilmApplications · 24/03/2019 05:00

It sounded like that was happening earlier in the week didn't it? This is obviously the piece though, since it contains a lot of exclusive background information and personal bio stuff.

The sidebar is particularly good.

The statement from the police mentions gender identity. But that's not the protected characteristic under the EA, right? Are they making up new offences?

2rebecca · 24/03/2019 07:48

Transgender identity is protected under hate crime law. They've missed out the trans prefix but omitting the word trans seems to be becoming part of TRA brainwashing dogma in the TWAW ideology

I am glad to see Caro's article published. Sunlight is the best disinfectant.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 24/03/2019 08:14

I thought this section was good:

Susie Green’s powerful transgender lobby group has forged close links with a police force behind a series of hate crime investigations.

West Yorkshire Police launched probes into an award-winning TV writer, a mother of four and a transsexual man following complaints from Mermaids.

But The Mail on Sunday can reveal that the force received ‘training sessions’ from Mermaids, which supports medical intervention for transgender children.

West Yorkshire Police has promoted Mermaids’ work, tweeting one of its leaflets.

Mermaids has also advised Merseyside Police, NHS staff, social workers, the Scouts and student nurses.

One West Yorkshire officer, Inspector David Harland, declared himself on social media to be a ‘trans ally’, adding that he was dedicated to ‘doing all I can for the trans community’.

In February last year, West Yorkshire sent officers to Wiltshire to investigate a mother of four following a complaint by Ms Green.

Echoing the Caroline Farrow case, Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull was questioned on suspicion of a malicious communications offence after Ms Green reported her for tweeting that Ms Green had illegally ‘castrated’ her ‘son’ by allowing him to have sex change surgery in Thailand at 16.

In April 2018, the force received another complaint, this time from Mermaid volunteer Helen Islan.

She claimed that transsexual Miranda Yardley, who has had gender reassignment surgery, had ‘outed’ Ms Islan’s transgender son by tweeting a picture of Ms Islan with her family, which included the child. West Yorkshire referred this incident to police in Essex, where Ms Yardley lives.

In a third case, West Yorkshire officers gave Graham Linehan, co-creator of the hit TV comedy Father Ted, a verbal harassment warning when transgender activist Stephanie Hayden reported him for referring to her as ‘he’ on Twitter.

Popchyk · 24/03/2019 08:19

Oh, that is good.

Puts Mermaids and WYP front and centre.

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 24/03/2019 08:24

The article lays it all out nicely, but it's very 'Daily Mail' isn't it. I mean...

Which is why Mrs Farrow was stunned to receive the phone call from the police officer on Monday as she juggled preparing a meal of gammon, roast potatoes and vegetables for her children – aged between four and 14 – with overseeing homework and music practice.

Who cares that she was preparing gammon (lol!) for dinner!

The thing is, even if some people dismiss this whole thing because of the 'devout Catholic' element of it, as well as the Daily Mailness of it, it just cannot be denied that this whole thing was utterly ridiculous, especially when you see those tweets side by side like in the OP.

And for those at the back: The police told her that they were investigating the tweets because of misgendering so it's not false repprting.

BigGreenOlives · 24/03/2019 08:26

I’m glad this piece has been published and very sorry that she has been treated so poorly, by both the stalkers & the police who have failed to protect her & her family.

SG & her allies within WYP are appalling.

Bluestitch · 24/03/2019 08:32

Yes, I was disappointed they didn't mention how much her house is worth!

It's a good article though, and I'm glad they've got the connection in between Mermaids and the police. This isn't turning out to be a great week for Susie Green.

AstonishedFemalePersonator · 24/03/2019 08:34

Good. Long may it continue..

rocketromano · 24/03/2019 09:10

I wonder if it’s too late for the national lottery to see sense and change their mind re the grant they are giving mermaids?
More sunshine, well done Caroline Farrow

HorsewithnoBackstop · 24/03/2019 09:10

One West Yorkshire officer, Inspector David Harland, declared himself on social media to be a ‘trans ally’, adding that he was dedicated to ‘doing all I can for the trans community’.

Interesting that he didn't say the 'LGBT' community.

When did a police officer ever declare that he or she was a 'gay ally' or state they would do 'all I can for lesbians'...?

homophobic nitwit parents have been trying to erase homosexuality for ages, I get that.

But now the fucking police are on board?

Carowiththegoodhair · 24/03/2019 09:44

I originally wrote it but then they wanted to turn it into a news feature & wanted personal detail about what I was cooking for dinner etc.

It’s fine. I have a lot more media coming up this week where I shall be making lots of points.

I only ever pulled the religion card because of articles 9 & 10 of the ECHR.

AstonishedFemalePersonator · 24/03/2019 09:46

Good for you, Caro. More power to your elbow. I want to see this issue gain more traction.

I hope KiwiFarms picks this up, too.

littlbrowndog · 24/03/2019 09:46

💪💪🍺🍷caro

Popchyk · 24/03/2019 09:57

It is a good article, and covers a lot of the main points, Caroline. I particularly liked the linking of Mermaids to West Yorkshire Police. Puts WYP under the spotlight which is about bloody time.

Even having mainstream media interest in the ramifications of self-ID is a huge step up from last year. Progress is being made and ordinary people are asking questions now.

Kudos to Posie, Linda, Venice, Harry the Owl, Flash Maggie, Miranda and Caroline and all others who have been shamefully targeted by the police. They have all handled it brilliantly and with dignity, at substantial personal cost to themselves. Full of admiration. Flowers

WellThisIsShit · 24/03/2019 10:02

Very interesting, glad it’s in the news now.

zanahoria · 24/03/2019 10:07

Its sad that people are reduced to playing the religion card. Even sadder to see Gaby Hinliff attacking Caroline over religion when Caroline was standing up for scientific orthodoxy against a faith based cult.

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 24/03/2019 10:13

The belief that you cannot change sex has nothing to do with Catholicism!

AssassinatedBeauty · 24/03/2019 10:16

I find it infuriating that the police refer to S Green as "the victim". Surely it's "the complainant", up until the point where someone is convicted of a crime. Plus the person actually misgendering was J Green, who hasn't made any complaint afaik.

Sexnotgender · 24/03/2019 10:19

Great article, glad they got the mermaids and WYP link in, though definitely need someone with clout to prove that one more deeply.

Sexnotgender · 24/03/2019 10:20

Probe not prove...

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 24/03/2019 10:36

Yes, why hasn't Jackie said anything about this? They are 27 years old (so perfectly capable of speaking for themselves without their mum) and a big part of the subject of these tweets.
