What's your opinion, OP?

Theyellowsquare · 20/03/2019 17:22

Sorry I haven't read the article but is Karen White on the list?

AstonishedFemalePersonator · 20/03/2019 17:23

The OP has form for posting links and then deserting threads, Barracker, so that is a good question.

PrincessPlummy · 20/03/2019 17:47

My opinion? On what specifically? I’m interested to hear the views of other women on an issue that affects us all. I’m sending some hostility here that I’m not sure I’ve earned tbh

EcclesThePeacock · 20/03/2019 17:53

I think it's mostly around issues in the US which don't apply in the U.K. , so they're hard for most of us to sensibly comment on based on one (maybe biased) source.

CuckooCuckooClock · 20/03/2019 17:53

Good Freudian there...
What is your opinion on the article you linked to op?

PrincessPlummy · 20/03/2019 17:57

I’m sorry forgot I was back in year 8! Hmm
I thought the article had some concerning elements, particularly when looking at the history of the first person mentioned. No one is obligated to comment if they don’t wish to

Skip read piece - what were their crimes? What of their victims?

learieonthewildmoor · 20/03/2019 18:22

I absolutely love that Hampton chose the name “Strawberry”. Winner of the Most Unlikely Name To Be Chosen By Parents.
Nobody ever calls themselves Catherine Mary upon transitioning. I understand they’re reinventing themselves, but I’d pick a name I could say I blamed my parents for.

I stopped reading after Strawberry. I can’t help thinking Strawberry paved the way for Karen White. I pity the suffering Hampton went through in prison with homophobic men, and I can understand them feeling much safer now; but do the women in the prison feel safer? It’s so easy for men to just dismiss women. They just don’t care about us.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 20/03/2019 18:42

Its not about the women though. It’s all about mememememe.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 20/03/2019 18:48

I’m sorry forgot I was back in year 8 You know ful well why posters won't leap in to respond. Too often posters who plop down a link and wait are looking for soundbites to use gainst GC women.

So how about you stop sending hositility and expecting posters to talk about your OP without any interaction from you!

Discuss, debate... don't belittle.

Spokk · 20/03/2019 19:10

Ooh someone who is posting something for a reaction but refuses to give theirs.

AstonishedFemalePersonator · 20/03/2019 19:14

Yeah. I'm bored with what the OP is doing.

Katvonmythicbiowoman · 20/03/2019 19:19

So brave and stunning Jessica Hicklin is a murderer.

She now likes to remove body hair and hug dogs

PrincessPlummy · 20/03/2019 19:24

Wow this really is a flashback to year 8! If you’re bored then don’t comment simple. I gave my opinion in an earlier comment and don’t really appreciate be talked down like I’m not one the ‘cool girls’. I don’t ‘expect’ anything ffs

OP posts:
Katvonmythicbiowoman · 20/03/2019 19:25

Brave and stunning Ashley Diamond, in for burglary, theft and battery. Nice.

Katvonmythicbiowoman · 20/03/2019 19:27

Brave and stunning Strawberry Hampton (living these names) just got 10 years for burglary. Seems tame compared to the first two thugs.

Katvonmythicbiowoman · 20/03/2019 19:27

*loving

AssassinatedBeauty · 20/03/2019 19:29

What are the "concerning elements" that concern you, @PrincessPlummy?

Thestral · 20/03/2019 19:31

OP, it's not that people are talking down to you, but people often come here and plop down links and fish for a reaction in order to goad posters into giving sound bites that can be tweeted widely and used against GC women.

I'm not for a second suggesting that you're doing this, but that's the reasoning behind some of the replies you've had.

TRAs/MRAs are a pesky bunch, sometimes.

Katvonmythicbiowoman · 20/03/2019 19:34

Cece McDonald. Now this one is more decisive. They did kill someone, but looks like self defence. They certainly got a very short sentence given it's America.

Very different to the other criminals

Katvonmythicbiowoman · 20/03/2019 19:39

Brave and stunning Jessica Sunderland (army veteran) burglary and "other charges"

Anyway that's the year eight history homework complete. In conclusion, I don't really care that convicted criminals don't get exactly what they want, when they want it. I care more about their victims.

Cece deserves sympathy in my opinion, I'll give you that.

Anyhoooo OP what do YOU think?

Well I’m not a tra, I’m undecided on my views around a few trans issues. I def disagree with some gender critical views but am pretty on the fence, so have been posting to see what others who are more involved think of this debate (and had some excellent and enlightening responses although not in this thread so much Hmm
