And, as she says in the thread:

"Meanwhile a group of people have terrified and harassed my family. Doxed my children, made violent and sexual threats, signed me up to porn accounts, did the same to my husband, threatened to visit here. And tumbleweed..."

Rowantrees

Oh, she absolutely is, but my impression was that the repeated mentions were an attempt to discredit rather than just supply background (which is, of course, legit).

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 20/03/2019 19:32

DT junior - that daft one - not the fat orange one.

Freespeecher · 20/03/2019 19:32

Going back to the Donald Trump Jr tweet, the story of the British Twitter user who was rung up by the police got a lot of play stateside as well as here, which perhaps explains why this story has been picked up too. They were just waiting for the next episode of the madness to come along.

ChattyLion · 20/03/2019 19:38

Blush oops multitasking fail there

ChattyLion · 20/03/2019 19:42

Its interesting though as some in the US will position the UK's 'madness' with regards failure of 'free speech' whilst much of the issues with regards transgenderism are a US import.

R0wantrees · 20/03/2019 19:50

apologies for muddling my Trumps! Smile

Popchyk · 20/03/2019 19:55

Seen this?

Sky News report

Ms Farrow and Ms Green met on ITV's Good Morning Britain in September 2018 and the tweets were sent in October.

Police confirmed Ms Green did not make the complaint until last week.

Is this true?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 20/03/2019 20:00

Well. That is very interesting.

LizzieSiddal · 20/03/2019 20:08

If it is true then SG has been telling porkies today.

Telegraph re 'Posie Parker'
'Second woman is investigated by police over transphobic comments'

(extract)
That case was eventually closed with no further action, despite officers undertaking a victim's review following a request by Ms Green.

But she has revealed that she is now the subject of a second police investigation, this time by the Wiltshire force.

Ms Keen-Minshull explained that she had been interviewed by police at the end of January on suspicion of harrasment following two YouTube clips she posted in which she criticised Ms Green for supporting her daughter's transition.

Jackie Green, 25, became the youngest person in Britain to transition when she changed her sex from male to female aged 16.

Ms Keen-Minshull, who set up the charity, Standing Up For Women, admitted that her comments on YouTube were uncompromising, but said she is perfectly entitled to express them.

She said she was still waiting to hear from the police whether she would be charged over the remarks.

She said: "I think it is outrageous that the police are wasting valuable time investigating people because their views might not be liked by some people. It is McCarthyist and it is terribly frightening.

"The police are keen to show that they are incluisve by flying rainbow flags and wearing rainbow laces in their boots, but what really matters is that they are there when somebody is the victim of a homophobic attack. It seems they are struggling to work out what their priorities are."

Meanwhile Ms Green has said she has now withdrawn her complaint to Surrey Police over the actions of Mrs Farrow." (continues)

I am guessing DT Jnr follows his dad's mate Piers Morgan on Twitter. PM has tweeted about it, suppose that is where it was picked up. These guys are bombastic loudmouths, but they have good reach. The illustration of the madness is being distributed far and wide.

I've justwatched this clip of Susie Green who describes her 'horror' at the content of some Social media posts.
Has she seen the posts of some TRA twitter users Mimmymum, Guiliana etc? Or the thousands of posts against those deemed 'terf'?

@Bowlofbabelfish

Thanks bowl, it was a bit of a rhetorical question but your answer was actually really helpful for clarifying in my mind.

I really worry how the NHS is meant to cope with all the issues presented by trans surgery etc. I can see lawsuits left, right and centre, nevermind the potential costs of things like IVF etc.

Fekko, don't forget the man who's suing his parents for bringing him into the world against his will. Hmm

www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-47154287

***
A 27-year-old Indian man plans to sue his parents for giving birth to him without his consent.

Mumbai businessman Raphael Samuel told the BBC that it's wrong to bring children into the world because they then have to put up with lifelong suffering.

Mr Samuel, of course, understands that our consent can't be sought before we are born, but insists that "it was not our decision to be born".

So as we didn't ask to be born, we should be paid for the rest of our lives to live, he argues.

A demand like this could cause a rift within any family, but Mr Samuel says he gets along very well with his parents (both of whom are lawyers) and they appear to be dealing with it with a lot of humour.

In a statement, his mother Kavita Karnad Samuel explained her response to "the recent upheaval my son has created".

"I must admire my son's temerity to want to take his parents to court knowing both of us are lawyers. And if Raphael could come up with a rational explanation as to how we could have sought his consent to be born, I will accept my fault," she said.

Mr Samuel's belief is rooted in what's called anti-natalism - a philosophy that argues that life is so full of misery that people should stop procreating immediately.

Well, it's a point of view! Grin

NoseringGirl · 20/03/2019 21:26

The thing that worries me about this news hitting America, is how black and white the thinking is there. If Trump supporting republicans think it's ridiculous then the democrat supporters will automatically think it must be valid. Maybe I'm wrong, that's just my perspective as an outsider. I do worry we're going the same way in the UK though. We're all supposed to subscribe to exactly the same set of beliefs as our tribe or we're cast out as the enemy.
I'm aware that looks ridiculously dramatic written down. There just doesn't seem to be much room for nuance or disagreement at the moment.

I get the feeling they are going to use it as a political point come 2020 as the Dems proposed Equality Act is looking to enshrine gender identity. They will cite what is happening in the UK as opposition.

NoseringGirl I share your concerns.
People standing up for women's rights and Safeguarding need to be very aware of the multi-dimensional threats.
Its not black and white.
Some of these situations are complex and nuance and critical thinking is very much needed.

Carowiththegoodhair · 20/03/2019 21:41

She made the complaint last week? She was so distressed she sat on the (automatically) deleted tweets which didn’t tag her, for months.

What could have changed her mind? Miranda’s fiasco or that I made a couple of successful media interventions on This Morning & the Big Questions about trans issues and she wanted to take me out.

Kettleon80 · 20/03/2019 21:44

Susie Green has done wonders for the Gender Critical movement.

The lunacy has gone viral with a collective wtf around the world when she thought it would cause outrage.

Cheers Suz! Wine

RedDogsBeg · 20/03/2019 21:44

How is the back peddling of SG re the charges against CF being spun by the usual supporters?

The comments on every outlet which has run this are overwhelmingly against SG.
