So what if trans women take over women’s sport?

Don’t know if this has already been copied but apparently if trans women did win all the trophies it would be a good thing.

and as for this

"However, she added that she doubts the pair would win medals even if they are capable of doing so.

Ms Johnston said: “But if they were in a gold or silver position they’d probably drop back because their fear of ridicule is so massive.”"

fucking revolting

so replace women who have been training hard forever to compete in womens events with transwomen who OBVIOUSLY have an advantage

and then if the transwomen look to be winning for UK they will DROP BACK and not actually win because it might look bad / they would be worried about reaction

what a massive fucking total crock

MillytantForceit · 23/02/2019 17:49

No transgender Team GB members at Rio 2016 or Sochi 2018. No evidence of any potential team members other than anonymous claims.

It is indeed a total crock, and I cannot get any answers from anyone about it. The other athletes must be aware if this has happened?
So, to sum up.
Cheat to enter the event, and get help from the authorities to cheat.
Deprive some women of the chance to take part, and then if you look like winning, throw the race for fear of reprisals.
What a totally selfish waste of time.

Throw the race you're cheating in, so people can't accuse you of cheating.

I'm sure there are numerous internal memos going around about this.

"Act like you can't open the pickle jar." "Don't go all out in the heats"

Jeez.

Agreed, but those articles say that two British transgender athletes have already competed at European championship level.
It was Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in 2018.

FermatsTheorem · 23/02/2019 18:10

It was widely suspected that a certain very prominent trans athlete deliberately threw the final round of the world championships in their discipline a few years ago, to get the silver, thus setting up a backstory where they could say "but look, I don't always win" prior to winning Olympic gold a few months later. (It was absolutely fucking blatantly obvious to anyone watching that this athlete simply wasn't trying in the last round). Unfortunately for them, they popped an elbow in the Olympics and had to retire hurt. (Must have been their age - they were twice the age of the other competitors, remarkable really to still be competing at the Olympics a decade past the age at which most athletes, both male and female, retire...)

FuerzaAreaUruguay · 23/02/2019 18:13

Fuck that. Transwomen are not women.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 23/02/2019 18:20

Transwomen are not women.

Agreed.

Childrenofthestones · 23/02/2019 18:20

Shurely the fact that trans men competing against natural Born men is practically unheard of should be an indicator to the unfair advantage that trans women have over natural Born women?

NotTerfNorCis · 23/02/2019 18:23

If they were in a gold or silver medal position they would probably drop back because their fear of ridicule and total humiliation is so massive

Aren't they meant to be representing Britain? So either women's sport loses out if men win, or Britain loses out if they deliberately throw the race. Seems better if they didn't compete.

Efferlunt · 23/02/2019 18:25

Oh the irony of accusing others of conducting a hysterical straw man argument...

I had exactly this thought when McKinnon said that TW don't always win. It's pretty easy to deliberately lose so sometimes as to build up the legend that it's an equal match -- only to win at the important competitions.

I agree. But it's a very short term strategy, isn't it?

It wouldn't take long to see a pattern develop.

ErrolTheDragon · 23/02/2019 19:00

Well, to be sure TW won't always win, especially if they've only been doing the sport for a couple of years.Hmm

MillytantForceit · 23/02/2019 19:05

Pyeongchang 2018, mea culpa

Still no evidence of any transathletes representing GB or UK at any Olympic sport.

JaneJeffer · 23/02/2019 19:06

Why is MNHQ so afraid of TW?

Bowlofbabelfish · 23/02/2019 19:22

No one is ‘afraid’ of TW jane

Do you think humans can change sex?

IDoN0tCare · 23/02/2019 19:23

Good old socialisation kicking in. We must be nice to those born Male.

FloralBuntingIsObnoxious · 23/02/2019 19:24

True, but as we've seen repeatedly, it's much harder to close the door to something once you cracked it open than if you never open it in the first place.

JaneJeffer · 23/02/2019 20:01

Do you think humans can change sex?
Well I can't answer that without getting another deletion.

Bowlofbabelfish · 23/02/2019 20:11

Well I can't answer that without getting another deletion.

Neither answer would get you deleted.

No ones ever answered yes though. which is odd, because despite people being very, very insistent the law should be changed to be as if humans can change sex, no one will actually say they believe it. No one.

So what do we make of that? All the wed based protections gone, self ID, men to be treated as if they literally change sex - but when you ask people they look at their feet and shuffle.

It’s alnost like no one thinks it’s true.

So, can humans change sex? Yes or no? Neither answer is a deletion offence.

McTufty · 23/02/2019 20:25

It annoys me that he thinks the complaint is merely trans women will flood female sport. I don’t think that will happen, there will always be natal females that compete, but I really resent the suggestion that it would be ok for some females to miss out, that female collateral damage is ok.

Also discussed this on another thread - the fact that a TW may compete but not win is neither here nor there as evidence of whether it’s fair for them to compete. The issue is whether or not they do better in women’s than they would in men’s.

If you’ve trained for the olympics for 4 years, coming 7th rather than 6th is a big fucking deal. It’s not somehow acceptable as long as they’re not coming first.

McTufty · 23/02/2019 20:27

Also I all this applies equally whether men falsely claim to be trans women to compete, or whether they are genuine in their gender identity. My own view is that generally people won’t transition simply to take part in female sport, but that doesn’t negate the unfairness of genuine but male bodied trans women competing against females.

So many spot on comments. This from Datun has to be applauded
"Not women and artificially weakened men". 👏 👏
