I came across this on McKinnon's twitter feed, and it screams out that McKinnon is a mysoginist and woman hater.

"Uh...no, women's bathrooms/change rooms are dangerous because of cis women"

But ciswomen are women who identify with feminine stereotypes like being all gentle and nice. They're the least scary ones surely.

Fair enough if Rachel is scared to use changing rooms at the gym when the female power lifting team are in there. Keep out Rachel!!!

GrinitchSpinach · 10/02/2019 11:31

I mean, Rachel wears a panic button to work (at a university), so Rachel's sense of risk assessment does seem to be ... unique.

Iused2BanOptimist · 10/02/2019 11:37

And Rachel claims to have been doxxed??
But Rachel was shocked that Martina Navratilova didn't know Rachel was a world champion cyclist or indeed know who Rachel was. Rachel is all over social media, with self promotion and boasting.

How was Rachel doxxed????

Floisme · 10/02/2019 11:45

leading to a man with a gun checking things out, says McKinnon, which must indeed have been very scary. And yet it's women who are dangerous? Righto.

Good point.

Wow. I’m blocked. Never even tweet so dunno why?!

ScipioAfricanus · 10/02/2019 13:08

I was blocked by that person before I’d even tweeted anything I think. An extensive block list must be in use which even tracks ‘likes’ or ‘follows’.

Luckily we’re missing nothing. To claim that women make the women’s toilets dangerous (yes, option of men’s or a third space worth campaigning for in that case) and that you have to wear a panic button to work in a university - if only this cyclist weren’t blocking the entire world this would peaktrans an awful lot of people.

Beamur · 10/02/2019 13:15

Women make women's toilets dangerousGrin
But that does perfectly make the case for a third space.

NoseringGirl · 10/02/2019 13:20

I'm blocked too. I only ever tweet about my hobby, occasional feminist things related to that hobby but nothing GC I don't think. I follow a grand total of 3 GC account. Two are friends and one is a local group. This blocker thing is ridiculous.

Icantreachthepretzels · 10/02/2019 13:41

Well, if women are too dangerous to go into women's toilets then maybe women should be granted a third space of their own so trans women don't run the risk of coming face to face with these nasty meanies.

I mean, it make more sense to let women keep women's spaces and let trans people have a third space for themselves but - hey ho - as long as women are still entitled to some place to call their own, where bio men cannot go however they identify - I'm happy.

But of course, Rachel doesn't want a third space for women. Rachel wants any woman who doesn't agree with Rachel to be unable to leave the house.

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 10/02/2019 13:46

Men forget all the time that women are smaller, and what that might mean to our daily life.Even though they know that if they're approached aggressively by someone 6 inches taller, and 1/5th larger they'd back off because they're not idiots, they conveniently forget that that's the status of the majority of women vs. the majority of men

Agree, and transactivists seem to be keener than most to ignore this inconvenient biological fact

Also agree that third spaces are the obvious answer but apparently not acceptable for the transactivists, you've gotta wonder why (not really, it's obvious, they want women completely erased and cowering at home as slaves)

SirVixofVixHall · 10/02/2019 13:47

I am also blocked. Must be exhausting living in a world where you see a random woman who lives in the country and tweets about wildlife as a threat.

CallMeSirShotsFired · 10/02/2019 13:52

I saved this the other day. Seems a good time to post it:

Rachel McKinnon is "femalephobic"
CallMeSirShotsFired · 10/02/2019 13:53

I mean this version is obviously deluded, as it assumes men are the biggest culprits, not those dastardly awful violent women.

ShowOfHands · 10/02/2019 13:57

Wow. I'm blocked too. I've only ever tweeted three things. Something about Joe Lycett, something about my brother and a fascinating aside about a motorway. Gosh.

Juells · 10/02/2019 13:58

But of course, Rachel doesn't want a third space for women. Rachel wants any woman who doesn't agree with Rachel to be unable to leave the house.

^^ This.

HappyPunky · 10/02/2019 14:09

I'm not blocked. I feel a bit left out'! I'm following graham linehan too.

HollowTalk · 10/02/2019 14:17

That's made my day, finding I've been blocked. I've hardly heard of this person.

Andtheskyisgrey · 10/02/2019 14:21

I am blocked too. And I think I have only ever written 8 tweets. None of them GC, although I am.
That's made my day.

Karwomannghia · 10/02/2019 14:29

Blocked too but I’ve never tweeted.
Finding those screenshots hilarious actually where the woman is saying she could be attacked anywhere by a man and Rachel takes offence, presumably because ...

GGMummy3 · 10/02/2019 16:54

Femalephobia is on the rise, it's an epidemic. It reminds me of something Germaine Greer said back in the early 70's, she said that women have no idea how much they're hated by men. I think we're now beginning to realise.

thenightsky · 10/02/2019 16:59

CallMeSirShotsFired Thanks for that. I've saved it too. I can see it coming in useful sooner or later.

CallMeSirShotsFired · 10/02/2019 17:02

I was looking for a quote by Andrea Dworkin I read just the other day, but came across this one in the meantime:

All around us there are other women, seemingly not hurt, making small talk, acting normal, which means happy, not discontent, certainly not devastated. Girls are still being socialised not to identify with - feel empathy for - other females: she got hurt because she did x, y, z - I didn’t, so I didn’t get hurt; she’s at fault, I’m not; the punishment fits her crime; blame her, exonerate him. This continuing, culturally applauded socialisation of women not to empathize with other women is a malignant part of the culture of men, dead white ones or not. Women are perceived to be appalling failures when we are sad. Women are pathetic when we are angry. Women are ridiculous when we are militant. Women are unpleasant when we are bitter, no matter what the cause. Women are deranged when women want justice. Women are man-haters when women want accountability and respect from men. Women are trash when women let men do what men want Women are shrews or puritans when we do not.

CallMeSirShotsFired · 10/02/2019 17:07

This is the one I was thinking of:

“Many women, I think, resist feminism because it is an agony to be fully conscious of the brutal misogyny which permeates culture, society, and all personal relationships.”

Mackinnon is the wholly male embodiment of that brutal misogyny.

Deliriumoftheendless · 10/02/2019 17:11

I regularly get chairs thrown at me at work, I want a panic button!
