The thread I wrote about attending Posie Parker's panel on gender identity and social media has attracted a lot of attention, and I thought it might be good to establish more of a dialogue. Ask me anything!

Also, to get this one out of the way: my babysitting rates are £15/hr, plus flights, and I'll provide a clean CRB check 😂

Are you opposed to the half of humanity who are born biologically female having the right to name themselves and organise to campaign for their own rights?

How would you punish the half of society born female for attempting to do this?

Would you make it illegal for a group of people born female to organise a service for themselves unless they accepted the enforced presence of a person born male?

Do you approve of the Saudi guardianship laws, where women who don't act without the approval of men are punished?

What words would you use to describe members of the two biological sexes, should you be asked to explain human reproduction?

That NASA committee that approved the plaques and golden records sent into space were horrendously transphobic :( How will any alien species realise that there are umpteen different genders from this illustration?

I have a genuine question (2parts), I promise I am not trying to be goady and have chosen my language carefully.

A) Without referring to biology or harmful gender stereotypes, "what does it mean to feel like a woman"

E.g. I've heard a lot of people talking about how their feelings don't match their birth sex, so for example they were born/assigned male but "feel" female leading to eventual transition.

B) If stereotypes didn't exist (which most feminist would like to happen) and it was socially acceptable for everyone to dress and act as they liked, would people still want/need to transition?

Just a reminder of the connotations of the bat.

All threads are, this one is no different.

donquixotedelamancha · 29/01/2019 11:49

Thanks for starting this. Should be interesting :-)

I don't advocate violence or threats.

Do you not think a baseball bat (particularly wrapped in wire) is an unfortunate symbol of empowerment, for obvious reasons? Do you not see any negative connotations to posing with it after posting photos of women you think are transphobic? What is the original meaning if not violence? I've only really seen it carried by people who also posted abusive and threatening things about women (antifa types).

Loving how GC feminists are begging for the TRA views to be given publicity, while they do everything to shut us up

I've asked MN not to delete. If it's in bad faith that will be obvious. I think the discussion should happen anyway.

R0wantrees · 29/01/2019 11:49

HebeMumsnet Threads are started for al sorts of reasons across Mumsnet. Sometimes goady.

It can definitely become a thread in the spirit of Mumsnet.
The OP is engaging with questions that were asked and the answers are of interest.

It would be a shame to delete it and counter productive.

Bowlofbabelfish · 29/01/2019 11:50

Please keep it up, MNHQ. We are all capable of being polite and I’m very interested in what OP has to say.

7Days · 29/01/2019 11:50

It's a pity Liz has not been back for a while.

I'd like to hear more.

MsMcWoodle · 29/01/2019 11:51

Yes. Please don't delete.

Juells · 29/01/2019 11:52

Why does Liz the Glitch assume we'll know who they are? Never heard of this person before, opened the thread thinking Glitch must be code for something techy.

TheQueef · 29/01/2019 11:52

Liz could be locked out still.

Batteriesallgone · 29/01/2019 11:53

Come back OP. I’m interested in seeing your answers.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 29/01/2019 11:53

Keep the thread! Debate is healthy.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 29/01/2019 11:53

Why does Liz the Glitch assume we'll know who they are?

To be fair there's a thread with her name in the title.

Barracker · 29/01/2019 11:53

OP has-been banned so won't be answering our questions

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 29/01/2019 11:54

Can someone report my post asking if she's band please, so HQ see it?

Liz as far as I can see broke no actual rules.

hipsterfun · 29/01/2019 11:54

AMAbutIwon’tanswer

HebeMumsnet · 29/01/2019 11:54

Sorry, folks. We didn't feel the OP was here with genuine intentions so we've escorted them from the boards. We don't feel there's really any point keeping an AMA going when the OP isn't there to answer, so we do think it has to come down.

FloralBunting · 29/01/2019 11:54

Oh ffs MNHQ. Thanks for that.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 29/01/2019 11:54

That was a bit of an own goal, MNHQ.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 29/01/2019 11:55

What rules did she break HQ?

It's unfair if there was none broken.

In my opinion you've fucked this up.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 29/01/2019 11:57

Totally different if trouble actually started but it didn't.
