What we did was amazing. We pulled the GUardian, Parliament, the House of Lords, the media, out of a position they were determined to have, we changed the debate, we showed women were a political force, we acted, all over the country we acted. In different ways. We were bound by the GRA review and as soon as that was done it was evident that power relations had recreated within a social movement. Yes some people by reflex did things that they would always have done. Now we get to relearn and renegotiate power relations by saying we dont play the way media tribalists did. Whatever fall outs there have been were always going to hapen but we still did that. Thats why htis board is permanently monitored by nutcases and acually the power we demonstrated is directly at the root of the toxic fallouts and is a mark of success in itself. Political spectrum reforming within this movement is alright, but it probably pays to remember how amazing what we achieved was and letting that guide what we can achieve., We changed the conversation we can keep doing that. Easily. By having the conversation we want and not bowing to social media tribalism that hides all sorts of nasties and existing political orgs. And learning in a way they cant.

I was trying to read Asterix in french. Thought it would be easy. Had to look up every word.

lisamuggeridge · 28/01/2019 23:11

Asterix was rubbish. There is no favourite character because its rubbish. It was the christmas annuals you got from adult relatives who hated you and hadnt encountered children since decades earlier.

Yes but you like Balamory so you don't count.

geeewhizz · 28/01/2019 23:12

At least one thing has been cleared up for me tonight. I can see why Jean Hatchet and Lisa Muggeridge come here to seek solace when their attempts to destroy other women are met elsewhere with the kind of criticism that decent people represent and expect. There is little decency here tonight. Just women behaving like schoolgirls. That these two women come here for support after what they do to other women and 'the cause' is a damning indictment of MN and the women on these boards in particular.

MsMcWoodle · 28/01/2019 23:13

I liked it. Oh my god we disagree! Call the feminism monitors!

AngryAttackKittens · 28/01/2019 23:13

Ah, no Americanisms this time.

Bubonicpanic · 28/01/2019 23:14

adult relatives who hated you

OK.

AngryAttackKittens · 28/01/2019 23:14

I loved Asterix and collected them and therefore Lisa and I must be enemies. Comics at dawn? Not very effective as a weapon, granted, but might give your opponent a nasty paper cut.

Thats quite some mirror you are holding upp there. Yes Jean has spent her life trying to destroy women and so have I. Its our reason for being. I wake up in the morning and I think who can I harm, and then I set up loads of sock puppet accounts to do it and I demand that lots of people take my side, and I get angry when I cant eliminate people who have injured my identity from my environment...oh wait...nope..that wasnt me..

Oh fuck. there is that mirror again. U ok hun?

Oh dear. We are unsatisfactory.
Never mind - saw this today.

I cant talk about Asterix, I read every Sweet Valley High book. I have no room to talk.

Posie's to blame
Jean's to blame
Lisa's to blame

women are to blame - all of you Grin

This is what a tag team looks like (not very convincing were they? )

MN collectively sticks their fingers in their ears and goes into full DARVO mode, attempting to silence any apostasy from the cult.

I'm so grateful to the wise and generous women on FWR for enabling me to understand the Duluth Wheel and recognise DARVO and how it works. I see it in operation on social media (including sometimes this board) as well as in everyday life.

Mumsnet's work to raise awareness of coercive control is also so important to protect women and children
Their video, 'Walking On EggShells' is often promoted on the right sidebar.

MsMcWoodle · 28/01/2019 23:17

oh it did.
Night night all. Well done.

AngryAttackKittens · 28/01/2019 23:18

Yep, Jean rides her bike to destroy women, that is definitely true and does not at all make the person saying it sound unhinged.

lisamuggeridge · 28/01/2019 23:18

I am to blame. Actually I am. It was the Sweet Valley High books wot dunnit. It set a flaw in my character that I could never undo. I probably should have read Asterix but he reminded me of that Sun cartoon which annoyed me,. Hagar the Horrible.

Isn't it interesting that a refusal to excommunicate - whether it be Posie or Jean or Lisa or Joani or whomever - is immediately interpreted as cult-like uncritical support? Who does that remind you of (again)?

Yes and why have they taken that a thread whose very title is "what we did" not "I" to be all about one person when it's clearly not? Well my two children have been up no less than 2 times each since bed so I am not interested in, nor have time for real or imaginary personality clashes. I will make time to fight for women's rights and the safety of children.

I am thinking of giving the kids WBH for breakfast. Should the bananas be ripe?

PositivelyPERF · 28/01/2019 23:19

Asterix was rubbish Well fuck that!!! You’ve just went down in my estimation Lisa! That’s just an awful attitude.

shakes head sadly at the realisation that the interlopers were right all along

Am I supposed to take sides now? 🤷‍♀️

LangCleg · 28/01/2019 23:20

I read What Katy Did and it inspired me to become the compliant, pacific woman I am today.

Yes, I got an Asterix book in French. It was a mistake. So, too, was the Mr Happy book.

Politelygiveszerofucks · 28/01/2019 23:20

Prom queen is a perfect analogy GeeWhizz

When it comes to Asterix, OP reminds me of the Visigoths. Or one of the irritating dim pirates used as a plot device who do nothing but swear and wind up scuttling their own ship.,

LangCleg · 28/01/2019 23:21

Better ripe cos they mash more easily.

This is my favourite FWR post that has ever, ever, ever been written.
