The comments are pretty sharp

Meanwhile, other people are having vital surgeries postponed, so diddums, really.

ReflectentMonatomism · 03/01/2019 14:16

Having to shave is LITERAL VIOLENCE.

Doyoumind · 03/01/2019 14:19

WTF. Women pay for their own hair removal. How can anybody be getting this on the NHS when funds are so limited.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 03/01/2019 14:20

I wonder what the waiting list is for older woman with facial hair?

90percentvodka10percenthuman · 03/01/2019 14:24

Ffs I’ve been waiting for two years to have a hole in my heart that causes me to have mini strokes to be fixed and I’ve managed to wait without crying or heading off to the press.

They really do think they are the most important people in the world

They really do think they are the most important people in the world

Don't they just.

FoxyLaRoxy · 03/01/2019 14:26

I have excess hair because of genetics and dodgy hormone levels. It has been a cause of distress to me since I hit puberty. My doctor said there was nothing to be done. I have been teased and mocked for it. I pay for my hair removal. I don’t see why this person shouldn’t either.

GCAcademic · 03/01/2019 14:26

No wonder she is crying. Fancy the NHS prioritising cancer surgery over beard removal. The bloody bigots.

CosmicCanary · 03/01/2019 14:26

I wonder if this is some of the "basic healthcare" MM says transpeople are not getting on the NHS and why they should be centred Hmm

ProfessoressWoland · 03/01/2019 14:26

As Layla Moran said, some women have beards.

OrchidInTheSun · 03/01/2019 14:27

The women I know with PCOS related facial hair have to pay for private removal.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 03/01/2019 14:30

Pity the DM feels the need to include a recommendation to Mermaids in the article!

VickyEadie · 03/01/2019 14:31

This 'me, me, me' moaning is fantastic grist to the peaktrans mill, isn't it?

GCAcademic · 03/01/2019 14:32

As Layla Moran said, some women have beards

Did she really say that? If it’s perfectly normal for women to have beards, they don’t need to have them removed then, do they? You can’t have it both ways!

OlennasWimple · 03/01/2019 14:36

I hear more people peaking all over that comment section

OlennasWimple · 03/01/2019 14:36

And LOL at the advert I just had pop up next to this thread: "Flamingo razers - for all the places you shave" Grin

ProfessoressWoland · 03/01/2019 14:37

She did indeed, GC!

I believe that women are women, so if that person was a trans woman, I absolutely would. I just do not see the issue. As for whether they have a beard, which was one of the hon. Gentleman’s earlier comments, I dare say that some women have beards. There are all sorts of reasons why our bodies react differently to hormones. There are many forms of the human body. I see someone in their soul and as a person. I do not really care whether they have a male body.

Orangesox · 03/01/2019 14:38

Wow. Poor love having to wait for free treatment for something a natural born woman or whatever the heck we’re called now would have to fund themselves.

Meanwhile I’m on a ridiculously long waiting list to see a Spinal Surgeon so I can be listed for a Spinal Fusion and I’ve managed to not go crying to the press whilst I slowly lose my ability to walk and now take 168 tablets a week to function Hmm

TanquerayTickles · 03/01/2019 14:41

And yet my friend's sister cannot get reconstructive surgery after
breast cancer and mastectomy due to the funding being cut and is having to crowdfund.

Mind fucking blown Angry

eurochick · 03/01/2019 14:43

I have pcos. I have paid privately for electrolysis and laser removal. Their sense of entitlement is unbelievable.

SpareRibFem · 03/01/2019 14:44

I had to go private for a hysterectomy that was life changing. I was living on painkillers and rarely left my house for three weeks every month. No bedding without blood stains and could only wear black from the waist down. Nhs won't fund hysterectomies because they only affect cunty women.

But sure cry because you're 'brave and stunning' and are too tight to pay for your own hair removal

GCAcademic · 03/01/2019 14:50

What a time to be alive, Professoress, when Hansard reads like a Monty Python sketch.

ProfessoressWoland · 03/01/2019 15:07

Amazing isn't it? I watched the debate at the time and I think LM meant it as a light-hearted quip (there were chuckles), but she was dead serious when she spoke about her soul-seeing ability.

MadamePudding · 03/01/2019 15:11

Like others on this thread, I have paid a lot of money for private hair removal, after years of misery and being told there was nothing the NHS could do for me. Why is women's distress at this issue considered unimportant enough that they have to pay for it while men with the same issue get treatment for free?

TheFaerieQueene · 03/01/2019 15:17

The fucking inability to see how ridiculous this complaint is by the complainant is mind blowing. It is all me me me.

To paraphrase JFK:
