This is awesome! Thank you so much to all the signatories. Thanks

ToeToToe · 08/12/2018 10:23

That is an excellent letter - gets right to the root of it all - male violence. And yes, sex-based oppression versus some metaphysical gender identity. Fantastic stuff.

I see lovely Fionne's name is on there too. Smile Thanks to all who signed Thanks

arranbubonicplague · 08/12/2018 10:52

That's a strong letter from some very respected figures and the signatories are to be commended.

welshgendercrit · 08/12/2018 11:01

A superb, skilfully written letter setting out all the major concerns very precisely. Thank you for this.Flowers

Badstyley · 08/12/2018 11:12

Great letter, straight forward and concise. Thank you to the signatories. I hope the TRA backlash isn’t too awful.

cockBlocker · 08/12/2018 11:29

Thank-you to the signatories for their continual support in the face of such hostility.

BettyDuMonde · 08/12/2018 11:41

Fantastic letter.

I didn’t notice the TRA ideology for ages, because anytime a woman friend signposted me towards it, I would refuse to even look at it out of loyalty to my trans friends.

It was only when I realised that my trans friends were also being harmed by the new trans politics that I allowed myself to properly engage with the debate.
At which point I realised that my woman friends were absolutely right and I apologised for not listening.

This letter will do a lot to reach people in the position I was once in,.

BrienneofTERF · 08/12/2018 11:52

Lovely letter, a big thank you to the signatories!

PebbleDashed · 08/12/2018 12:05

Simple, succinct and to the point. I honestly believe that we're beginning to see the re-emergence of common sense and a real centre ground in Britain. I hope so because we're going to need it in the face of all these social divisions.

PurpleCrowbar · 08/12/2018 12:22

Excellent letter.

I've just shared the text on FB for the benefit of an acquaintance who's told me that people who don't accept that TWAW 'belong in the bin.'

gendercritter · 08/12/2018 12:26

Such a great letter. Very pleased to see it's been published

ValWiggin · 08/12/2018 12:34

Fantastic letter, thanks to those who created and signed it.

ShimmyShimmyYa · 08/12/2018 13:03

Brilliant! Thank you

VickyEadie · 08/12/2018 13:07

Great to see the trans people who have empathy with women speaking out.

Thank you to all of you. I won't forget your names.

AlwaysTawnyOwl · 08/12/2018 13:08

You will certainly get grief for this. Thank you for being prepared to do so - an approach based on mutual respect as you advocate would never have ended up where we are. I saw Kristina speak in Reading and found her perspective very enlightening and interesting.

silentcrow · 08/12/2018 13:08

I'm really pleased to see Fionne and Seven on there (and I've just seen Kinesis tweet in support too, they missed the call) - it shows that it's not about "old school" transsexuals moaning, but that there's agreement across the generations on this.

PineappleSunrise · 08/12/2018 13:20

Thank you to all of the signatories. Flowers

Badgerthebodger · 08/12/2018 13:49

Insertwitticismhere · 08/12/2018 14:33

That is an extremely well crafted letter.
Thank you to all the signatories and to The Times for printing it!

DrSue · 08/12/2018 14:43

I'm sure one of them will be along to accept their thanks soon enough.

SarahCarer · 08/12/2018 14:45

Now that is brave

AspieAndProud · 08/12/2018 14:48

We are seeing a definite split in the transcommunity between those who identify with women and those who identify merely as women.
