Bunbury’s Public Service Announcement 2

The useful Bunbury Guide to Spotting Community Disruptors is constantly evolving.

The best research and advice is not to engage with community disruptors and trolls. As ever, if you suspect troll activity, report it to MNHQ.

This is a continuation of the first Public Service Announcement thread:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3321127-public-service-announcement

If and when you see threads plopped into FWR, especially a curious repeat of well worn topics, maybe check for poster history before engaging.

There are a number of posts/posters/threads that are reproduced on Twitter or Facebook to foment controversy using screen shots & flagging to either MNHQ to have threads or posters deleted. Sometimes, it’s used to approach commissioning editors with ideas for articles. It’s a tiresome tactic that we’ve had several community disruptor posters who themselves post the comments that they then highlight elsewhere as purported evidence of racism, religious intolerance, anti-men sentiments, or transphobia.

Some helpful links in following posts.

Ok I'll try via 'the other place' as that's more secure. Wink

You have a message waiting - feel free to reply when it's convenient Smile

Interesting for a number of reasons (people taking screenshots; posts on a MN board I don't look at; mention of various technical terms) and subsequent allusion to a sub-tweet that scopes the time after a challenge:

Never mind community disruptors, I think a community under siege would be a fascinating study for an academic with an interest.

Bumping.

Neurotrash · 17/12/2018 08:29

I should read this more carefully!

AngryAttackKittens · 19/12/2018 22:41

What are our lady of Bunbury's thoughts on engaging with people who claim not to have had male socialization because they weren't the super laddish type as a wee one?

LangCleg · 19/12/2018 23:08

I don't know. Personally, I'm reduced to hysterical laughter. No need to go to any bunting shops, is there? The current supply seems unlimited.

AngryAttackKittens · 19/12/2018 23:10

My favorite bit is when someone says "nobody said a thing" that they themselves said in a recent thread.

(Can't link to it though because apparently HQ is trying to protect this person from their own flag waving.)

bluescreen · 19/12/2018 23:32

There'll be a lot more of these down the line as Mermaids' protégé(e)s grow up attain majority. Oh, brave new world...

Bubonicpanic · 20/12/2018 10:09

Well that was interesting.

Or predictable?

Datun · 20/12/2018 10:23

Immensely revealing.

deepwatersolo · 20/12/2018 10:24

Hope they let it stand as a record

Yes, Materialist. Concerning that this behaviour is condoned.

Are BPD and NPD identities? They certainly seem to be for some.

LangCleg · 20/12/2018 10:50

Quite. Arguing on message boards is one thing. Real life quite another.

So coercive. I hope they don't delete. Otherwise what was the point of mumsnet making that video?
