Bunbury’s Public Service Announcement 2

The useful Bunbury Guide to Spotting Community Disruptors is constantly evolving.

The best research and advice is not to engage with community disruptors and trolls. As ever, if you suspect troll activity, report it to MNHQ.

This is a continuation of the first Public Service Announcement thread:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3321127-public-service-announcement

If and when you see threads plopped into FWR, especially a curious repeat of well worn topics, maybe check for poster history before engaging.

There are a number of posts/posters/threads that are reproduced on Twitter or Facebook to foment controversy using screen shots & flagging to either MNHQ to have threads or posters deleted. Sometimes, it’s used to approach commissioning editors with ideas for articles. It’s a tiresome tactic that we’ve had several community disruptor posters who themselves post the comments that they then highlight elsewhere as purported evidence of racism, religious intolerance, anti-men sentiments, or transphobia.

Some helpful links in following posts.

analogy
/əˈnalədʒi/
noun
noun: analogy; plural noun: analogies

a comparison between one thing and another, typically for the purpose of explanation or clarification.
"an analogy between the workings of nature and those of human societies"

An analogy is not a comparison between something that exists, and something that does not exist. That would be the opposite of analogous.

And yes I am a nerd, thanking you kindly.

Well this is nice.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 18/04/2019 16:57

I'm blocked by that person Trousering, despite not having a fucking clue who they are. so I can't see their pearls of wisdom. oh well

littlbrowndog · 18/04/2019 16:59

Am blocked as well

LangCleg · 18/04/2019 17:00

I'm not blocked cos I'm not on Twatter!

We are now, apparently Scumsnet and Mumsnet sheep.

LOL!

ZebrasAreBras · 18/04/2019 17:07

Ha, calling us names, and dismissing us - yet they cannot keep away, can they? Cannot stop trying to have us shut down.

Ereshkigal · 18/04/2019 17:21

I love the way that they've woven some MRA concerns in there as well. "Professional manhaters". Interesting.

welshgendercrit · 18/04/2019 17:24

I'm blocked too, so I had a look on my dedicated evading-the-blockers Twitter account. Grin Interesting how very little response these posts get. It's almost as though even the followers aren't impressed by such lazy thinking.

LangCleg · 18/04/2019 17:32

Women. Talking. Outwith male supervision. Most dangerous thing in creation.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 18/04/2019 17:53

Scumsnet

well it makes a change from nuttersnet or the toxic hotbed

baa!

littlbrowndog · 18/04/2019 17:58

SCUMSNET. 😂😂😂😂💪😎😎😎

littlbrowndog · 18/04/2019 17:59

They can’t keep away. Yohoooooo. Scummer here

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 18/04/2019 18:03

Oh poor Christine, it must have taken them hours to come up with and write that 'handy guide' and they have only got 1 like.

I would quite like to be a 'chain smoking crotch obsessive' - sounds like great fun!

HumberElla · 18/04/2019 18:06

Ahhh Brigading!! Thanks Trousering. I’m crap at crosswords.

Scumsnet eh. Well what an absolutely charmer.

Trousering · 18/04/2019 18:08

Barbie, I think that refers to Venice.

KatvonHostileExtremist · 18/04/2019 18:15

If you're going to make it happen Monitors, you need to be consistent.

Scumsnet or nuttersnet? Choose one and stick to it. If you're very very lucky you'll get 3 likes. I know right! Amazing! You're so special 😘

TurboTeddy · 18/04/2019 19:33

One like and one RT; they've got reach Grin

If it is they will be disappointed unless they were hoping for screen shots of kind and compassionate responses because that's what's happening. Looks like they posted on another thread and were encouraged to start their own.

TinselAngel · 18/04/2019 22:43

I don't think so. They posted on the trans widows thread earlier.

Datun · 18/04/2019 22:47

It feels genuine to me.

ZebrasAreBras · 18/04/2019 22:53

Well, who knows? But I'd say that was the genuine thread of a distraught woman needing help. A grieving woman, who has had her life history re-written in a not dissimilar way to the transwidows.

2BthatUnnoticed · 18/04/2019 22:56

Yes sorry, my mistake. I know people will be compassionate, but if they don’t 100 per cent support the official ideology of transition... there will be screen shots, with renewed calls to close MN.

They are trying to get the apps to terminate their contracts with MN, which means people wouldn’t be able to access MN via their phones anymore.

ZebrasAreBras · 18/04/2019 23:04

Yeah - they've been trying to close us down for well over a year now. There was a massively concentrated effort by TRAs almost exactly this time last year. It won't work.

Men have been trying to discredit Mumsnet for many years - they don't like women having the space to organise and talk amongst themselves - TRAs are now doing the same. I don't think they will succeed.
