First one is an apology from Durham SU to the HUmanist who retweeted the Spectator article (yes that one!)

Second is SNP politicians kicking back

Angelos' discussion with Humanists UK about having his membership revoked without due process:

John Mason has always been an outsider in his party on LGBT issues. He voted against equal marriage, no doubt would on similar votes. He's a devout Christian. He is talking sense on this, but don't get your hopes up for the party as a whole.

LikeDust · 30/11/2018 12:51

............. Christine Burns seems to be desperately straining to promote a new bullshit narrative cooked up by Roz Kaveney and Natacha Kennedy.

Hilarious that they are trying to reframe it with this ridiculous reversal.

It's a start scotsheather, baby steps

Little pro-trans material?! Sweet baby cheeses, until very recently there was more chance of the Express saying the weather was about what was expected for the time of year than there was of the media publishing anything that wasn't pro-trans.

Do they seriously expect people to believe this disingenuous shite?

Freespeecher · 30/11/2018 13:12

Do they want a debate or #nodebate?

That is the question.

Ereshkigal · 30/11/2018 13:13

Yes, with their #nodebate policy, they're definitely going to win the debate Hmm

not that they would, hence said policy and every embarrassing time on WH in the last couple of weeks

Trinity1976 · 30/11/2018 13:13

How deluded do they have to be to think they are able to easily pick apart our arguments? If they could, they would have done so by now.

Bowlofbabelfish · 30/11/2018 13:13

His comments under the tweet are excellent. Truth only reveals itself through debate - it cannot be imposed, it cannot be forced.

This is a top down ideology, being imposed.

Gives me some hopenfor the future of critical thought at universities anyway. Well done.

Ereshkigal · 30/11/2018 13:13

X post

Ereshkigal · 30/11/2018 13:14

If they could, they would have done so by now.

In that light, prominent TRAs and allies point blank refusing to debate the issues with GC feminists seems rather strange, no?

Bowlofbabelfish · 30/11/2018 13:15

Flimsy eh?

I’m still waiting for anyone to explain to me how humans change sex. Or to langcleg on her excellent question if sex is a spectrum, where are the other gametes?

But if it’s all so flimsy, debate it. Pull it apart. Come on.

MsJeminaPuddleduck · 30/11/2018 13:16

That tweet is hilarious. If gender critical arguments are so flimsy and easy to pull apart eh? Is that why Alex Shape, Ruth Hunt, Stonewall Bex and numerous others all refuse to debate on radio 4/ meetings etc?

And yeah .. imagine an ideology that made money out of harming children, think we can all agree that that is truly shocking.

OldCrone · 30/11/2018 13:33

Can anyone make sense of this message sent to Angelos from 'an individual who holds a senior position at Humanist Students'?

twitter.com/Sofocleous_A/status/1068226545557389313

I can't work out what they're trying to say here:
'I would never say a transwoman is not a woman because she doesn't have a penis'

LemonJello · 30/11/2018 13:34

very flimsy arguments

😂😂😂

Deluded people are...deluded

arranbubonicplague · 30/11/2018 13:39

Dropping in a recent classic from Fionne Olander:

Was out in Manc, used the gents, one cubicle, no toilet seat but floor to ceiling door ty God. Came out and washed my hands guy using urinal looks over his shoulder and asks if this is the guys. I say "I am a guy" and he smiles & says "you're a pretty guy" I thank him and leave

twitter.com/FionneOrlander/status/1067114320495034369

I admire Fionne, Grayson Perry, and others like them who are choosing to 'expand the bandwidth' of what it means to be themselves (unlike Alex Drummond who claims: "I'm widening the bandwidth of how to be a woman.").

LemonJello · 30/11/2018 15:07

borntobequiet that looks so interesting, thank you so much for posting!

Annandale · 30/11/2018 15:16

Wow borntobequiet I like the look of that series, thank you. Particularly interested in intensive care delirium because of my job, but also obviously (since I'm on this thread) interested in delusions of the body. I wonder if it's rather like hearing voices - huge numbers of people do have voices that they hear, what varies is how much they suffer as a result of them/how much their lives are affected by them. Might be the same with delusions.

LikeDust · 30/11/2018 15:22

That looks great.
The fact that 'delusional' is used as an insult means it is becoming taboo to mention delusions, but it seems to be increasingly necessary to discuss them.

I wonder if there will be any discussion about the influence of recreational drugs.

OMG Pain. I can’t comment further without getting into trouble with the mods.

Randomusername01 · 30/11/2018 17:56

😂😂😂 tbh I really really want to see the replies to the dog fiasco. Any chance of posting them?

boatyardblues · 30/11/2018 18:01

We don’t have a dog, but my children frequently fail to validate my feelings and my innate internal identity (Beyonce in my head, younger Hattie Jacques IRL), miniature little monsters that they are.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 30/11/2018 18:07

That poor dog Sad
