I've received a twelve-hour ban from Twitter so I thought I'd take the chance to say hello lovely mumsnetters! Thank you for all the support and kind words and very proud to be on your side.

I'm not deleting the tweets because I stand by them and there's nothing offensive about them. See for thyself, fellow witches!

attention economy grifters

Hahahahahaha.

Grifters gonna grift. When I get too hot under the collar, I enjoy myself lollygagging at the paltry amounts their GoFundMes raise and remind myself that we hit our targets as soon as the funder is up.

But y'know - what do you expect from a non-compliant woman saggy-titted old crone such as me?

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 16/11/2018 19:28

the cotton ceiling (how anyone can not recognise that for the deeply rapey set of attitudes it is?)

God yes. Homophobic rape culture disguised as progressiveness.

Glinner · 16/11/2018 19:28

These are great. Please keep them coming!

As requested: I realised something was wrong when a student of mine insisted on using the girl’s changing rooms and wearing a skirt without even a thought for other girls. They then used to go without pants to flash other students and make them delivery uncomfortable. School did all they could to help facilitate this person but it was never enough and after they left they wrote a tell all sad face story for the DM because we wouldn’t let them change with the girls before they’d even started the process of medical transition.

So many members of staff spent so much time trying to help them and it was all shoved back in our faces because we wanted to think about the comfort of the female student too.

Also, so excited your are here. I have no Twitter but do lurk and often want to retweet your stuff.

littlbrowndog · 16/11/2018 19:29

Omg 💪💪💪💪🍰🍰

LangCleg · 16/11/2018 19:29

the Guardian reporting Lauren Jeska's attempted murder of Ralph Knibbs

That was a big one for me. Helen Pidd reporting it like the poor man got his just deserts. Absolutely vile.

AncientLights · 16/11/2018 19:30

I first saw how wrong all this was with the girl guides stuff. I couldn't believe they were ( still are) saying it's fine for a boy or a man to share sleeping accommodation, showers, toilets etc with females so long as he says the magic words 'I identify as a girl/woman'. How they can't see that this an entrance all areas for any pervert going, and there are many as any woman will tell you, is naive beyond belief.

Is that what you mean Graham?

Mumfun · 16/11/2018 19:30

Yay what a lovely Friday night. Welcome ! Feel free to join in every Friday Smile
And yes it was due to you on Twitter that I suddenly realised something was wrong. I think it was over Mermaids that I had thought was a gentle little group helping kids. And I was shocked by the behaviour being pointed out. Then I legged it over here and got thoroughly wised up!

GiantKitten · 16/11/2018 19:30

Glinner, I’ve been wondering for a while about the tone of your visit from Norfolk constabulary following the complaint by A Harrop’s “lawyer” pal.

I know they had to give you that warning, but I do hope it was in a nod’s as good as a wink fashion?

boatyardblues · 16/11/2018 19:30

I can’t tell you how exciting it is to have you on MN. Twitter’s loss is our gain. TBH I hope the ban stands for at least the whole weekend.

And thank you for the My Lovely Horse episode, which made DH & me cry with laughter in our 20s and now the whole family now we’re in our 40s. I often hear DS2 singing it in the shower. Grin

littlbrowndog · 16/11/2018 19:31

I don’t have any stories cos everyone I know or work with don’t believ3 the shite about changing sex is possible
😫😉

LangCleg · 16/11/2018 19:33

I was already there by then but the Swim England guidance that inspired the first Man Friday action was another stage up from base camp for me. Thread here:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3160512-Engaging-trans-people-in-swimming-aka-penises-are-ok-in-the-ladys-changing-rooms-but-transmen-must-cover-their-breasts?pg=1

Floisme · 16/11/2018 19:33

it was Tara Hudson for me too. Up until then I hadn't really thought about trans issues other than in a 'live and let live' kind of way, but when my manager said Hudson should be in a women's prison and that they'd signed the petition, my first reaction was, 'Are you fucking crazy?'

I said it purely on instinct and I'll never forget her face! I've had to be careful ever since.

Bowlofbabelfish · 16/11/2018 19:34

When did I realise something was wrong?

Jenner getting woman of the year. The expression they had in the front page of that mag. It made my flesh crawl - a triumphant, gloating expression.

The first time I heard of the cotton ceiling. That was when the penny dropped that ‘oh. This is about men getting to fuck who they want when they want.’

The girl guides threads - because that made me realise that these loopholes leave children vulnerable.

The effect on safeguarding.

Then the gradual revealing of this whole web of influence. TELI, the challenor thing, shon fae advising girl guides (after a past advocating for extreme porn with younger actors) Jess Bradley’s peripatetic penis. Edward lord. Tentacles throughout the media, zero due diligence being done meaning some very unsavoury people are advising government. Peter dunne pushing a lowered age of consent for medical transingbof children. Mermaids advising the police and the NHS.

This thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3328210-Follow-the-money-who-is-funding-the-US-transborg

The puberty blockers. The misuse of science. The medical ethics breaches. As a scientist working in a clinical field I am HORRIFIED.
The creeping realisation that an entire generation of children are being experimented on but the adult males driving it stay intact and Demedicalised.

Karen white. An intact male bodied person who is a convicted child abuser and rapist being put in a women’s jail with a mum and baby unit. Despite the people who did so KNOWING about their previous convictions and previous MO of identifying as a woman to rape a psychiatric patient on a women’s ward.

It’s endless. It needs a journalist with balls/ovaries of steel to unravel it all (and if you know anyone, half the work is done for you - just read these boards.)

Oi oi Glinner!

FloralBunting · 16/11/2018 19:35

It all started for me when my teen daughter said "I think I'm a boy". I was blindsided for a bit, but I'm proactive and did some investigation and one of the first things I discovered was the 'Cottin Ceiling' stuff. As I used to be LGB rep at uni, all my alarm bells went off like fireworks and nothing since has reassured me that I was wrong to be concerned.

That plus the recognition of cult/religious aspects of Anti-woman Transactivism and you've pretty much got a potted history of my MN posting history. Plus swearing and Catholicism.

FermatsTheorem · 16/11/2018 19:35

That's the thing - in RL the two transwomen I know are lovely - old school transsexuals. Someone on here used the metaphor of asking to join women as a refugee versus coming as a coloniser, which I think is spot on. Also in RL I would say 90% of my friends are GC (there's a couple who buy the Stonewall line hook line and sinker, so I carefully skirt round it with them).

cooblanket · 16/11/2018 19:35

the cotton ceiling (how anyone can not recognise that for the deeply rapey set of attitudes it is?)

Yep. It's repugnant.

Randomusername01 · 16/11/2018 19:36

I can say I realised something was wrong when I was told having sexual preference was shallow and I was a genital fetishist. That particular person was a fruitloop afaiwc but she (and her friends) all barged in on me on fb and I ended up leaving the group as she was an admin. She also advocated that we should all get used to being nude in front of other people regardless of sex and so wouldn't have to worry about having separate sex changing rooms etc. I came to the conclusion I was trying to reason with idiots and gave up.

FermatsTheorem · 16/11/2018 19:37

Jess Bradley’s peripatetic penis

That's a brilliant turn of phrase!

mylightbulbmoment · 16/11/2018 19:37

My moment was on an online feminist group, which asked me to leave, because I said that my preference for male bodied heterosexual partners was not a threat to anyone else and that I had the right to decide whomever I wanted to sleep with and no one could tell me I had to sleep with a transperson who had a penis but was presenting as a woman at the time.

It was a literal what the fuck moment. I can shag who I like, what the fuck.

mylightbulbmoment · 16/11/2018 19:37

Randomuser I wonder was it the same facebook group!

BitOfFun · 16/11/2018 19:38

For me, it was as an admin on a facebook group about makeup and beauty. We had plenty of (usually) young men and teenagers enjoying experimenting with their look- fine, no worries there. But there was also an older cohort of cross-dressing men posting photos of themselves in increasingly sexualised outfits, sometimes leaving little to the imagination as to their, um, surgical status.

I was very uncomfortable with these members basically posting for validation of their "journey", using our mainly female members as props to what was increasing evident as a sexual fetish.

The backlash from removing these posters from the group was horrendous- an absolute flood of member requests from men affiliated to trans groups, and a deluge of personal messages accusing the group admins of bigotry, being TERF scum, bitches etc etc, with threats to report the group to FB and have us shut down. Bullying behaviour awfully reminiscent of male entitlement, really.

arranfan · 16/11/2018 19:38

I have a feeling that the numbers of people being shunted into Twitter prison will be growing.

They'll have to set up, "Dares to dissent" and "Cleaves to biological facts" holding centres.

We're all set for the gulags, of course. We'll try and send messages out. Studies morse code for tapping out on water pipes then realises there probably won't be such facilities if Children of the Woke certain ideological purity guardians have their way. Considers heliography then realises we're heading into a long Winter.

Threewheeler1 · 16/11/2018 19:39

For me, as a social worker, when you realise the meagre safeguards in place to protect women and children are about to become utterly meaningless.
The fact that the organisations and pubic bodies who should be protecting women and children have signed up to the trans ideology of self-id.
And the disbelief you encounter at the very suggestion that there are predatory men who'll abuse the open door policy, however they present themselves. I've seen the lengths they go to in order to get access to their victims. If these changes roll in, it'll be so much easier.
The fact that women and children experience so much shit at the hands of men every day but their lives don't seem to matter.
I'm not a social worker anymore so I feel I can speak freely, which is pretty sad in itself.
