I've received a twelve-hour ban from Twitter so I thought I'd take the chance to say hello lovely mumsnetters! Thank you for all the support and kind words and very proud to be on your side.

I'm not deleting the tweets because I stand by them and there's nothing offensive about them. See for thyself, fellow witches!

Jess is welcome to use it as the title of their next blog fermats

Allsorts schools guidance pack. Huge safeguarding holes, not just for girls as we feminists talk about often, but also for the gender-questioning children themselves.

This guidance says that confidential disclosures are okay, that parents need not be informed, that multi-agency working is not required - these protocols are in place to protect children from infiltrating abusers. It places gender-questioning children outside the frameworks put in place to protect children. Why should they receive less safeguarding than other children?

You might as well place a target on their backs.

Tinlegs · 16/11/2018 19:40

When I was instructed to use gender not sex when allocating rooms and bathrooms on a school trip with 15-17 year olds. Meaning a trans pupil was put with the opposite sex.

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 16/11/2018 19:41

They'll have to set up, "Dares to dissent" and "Cleaves to biological facts" holding centres.

Under His Eye.

FermatsTheorem · 16/11/2018 19:41

That's alright Arran don't you remember we have it on the authority of those lovely students at Goldsmiths that the Gulags are massively misrepresented in the history books and by your man Solzhenitsyn , and were in fact rather jolly places, a kind of cross between Butlins and an OU summer school, with lots of lovely craft classes and stuff.

ABitCrapper · 16/11/2018 19:42

Tinlegs really??!! Shock

Additional to this point - when the NSPCC, the country's only child protection charity with statutory powers, ran away from a Mumsnet webchat rather than answer questions about this guidance.

And thank you for the My Lovely Horse episode, which made DH & me cry with laughter in our 20s and now the whole family now we’re in our 40s. I often hear DS2 singing it in the shower

I found myself singing it - out loud - going round Tesco's last week.

The moment I realised this was a (creepy and predatory) men's rights initiative was the 'cotton ceiling'. As one of the gay women (I can't use lesbian any more because, y'know, it doesn't mean adult human females exclusively attracted to adult human females any more), the men who like to pretend they're women can fuck right off with their 'I'm a lesbian' shite.

Thestral · 16/11/2018 19:43

Hello! I follow you on Twitter, and have been Terrblocked by all the usual TRAs.

Thank you for speaking out for us.

Peak trans for me was the Girl Guides. I'm a teacher, and the safeguarding loophole there now leaves me cold. It's going to take a serious assault/underage pregnancy to even get them to begin to think things through without the veil of wokeness that they're hiding behind.

arranfan · 16/11/2018 19:44

The wandering uterus and peripatetic penis

It's like stumbling into an unknown book of Odysseus with added medical commentary - the suppressed aetiology of the other hysteria.

2rebecca · 16/11/2018 19:46

I was surprised with the recently published Fair Play for Women survey that showed men are more gender critical than women, but the majority both sexes think males with penises are not women in many ways and shouldn't be in female sports prisons changing rooms. Thanks for your support. We need more men behind us as the TRAs don't belittle their views as much. How do I retweet a deleted tweet? I follow you so I'll see if I can work it out. Only really got in to Twitter with all this feminist malarkey.

GiantKitten · 16/11/2018 19:46

Can’t remember a specific peak trans moment.

A few FB friends were regularly posting newspaper reports about “women” committing crimes, & it gradually dawned on me what was going on.

I started investigating & commenting, & then (April 2017) I was unfriended, as a horrible “transphobe”, by a very woke now-long-ex-friend. That focused my mind beautifully Grin

Have since peaked several family members.

Sarahconnor1 · 16/11/2018 19:47

the Guardian reporting Lauren Jeska's attempted murder of Ralph Knibbs

That along with Tara Hudson and her 7 inch surprise getting a move to a women's prison.

Then Anne Ruzylo being hounded out of her position as women's officer for labour (followed by Madigan taking a women's officer role). This opened my eyes to how very differently women and trans women are treated, the male privilege still seems to exist regardless of gender.

birdsdestiny · 16/11/2018 19:48

You made dh gender critical, obviously he wouldn't listen to me Grin.
For me it was watching those on the other side of the arguement. Not just the TRAs and their bullying of women but those ( mostly on the left, my left) who shouted TWAW the loudest. Those people treat Transwomen so differently to women, it would be funny if the consequences weren't so serious. The belief that no one believes.

KnobOfStork · 16/11/2018 19:49

I have a beautiful down with this sort of thing tshirt and I snigger to myself when my anti-TERF brigade pals compliment. Bitterly upset I no longer use my old father Ted username and sorry to add to the we love you comments. Grin

I don't remember ever "peaking" as I fell into the tumblr radfem community with a friend at school when we were about 14. We used to discuss the issues in the school library on a Monday evening. We are now 22. Many of those who are now pro-trans thought feminism was dire. Those who were interested in feminism were interested in a discussion. As I recall the issues du jour were around the mimicry of sexualisation and stereotyping of female behaviour. Many of our friends had been through self harm/pro-ana blogs and began to move onto identifying as pan/nb/trans. Many of them fortunately desisted before medical intervention. Many hit 18, had medical intervention and are now desperately unhappy. I "educated" my family on trans identities and they thought it ridiculous. They now think me a bigot.

The earliest "oh fuck" moment I think was Fallon Fox and Kellie Maloney, even the young teenage bleeding heart liberal in me who was experiencing abuse at the hands of men found it difficult to accept very traditionally masculine geezers wanting to be "women"

When I was about 9 I watched a documentary about MTFs and I wish I could find it now but all they spoke about was how amazing it was to have a vagina to be fucked. Even then I thought surely there are better things about being a woman. The final straw I think was the abuse trans friends got for being "truscum"

This is not directly related to Glinner, obviously, but in the same vein, Gender Trender got taken down.

Oh, my. I'm starstruck for the first time in my life!

Welcome, Glinner!

Binglebong · 16/11/2018 19:52

Hi gents, welcome. Have some gin. Gin

I'm afraid I can't remember what it was made me do a complete 180. And it really was that - I was very pro trans but then my idea of trans really wasn't up to date. The Stonewall definition was definatly a big part of it. Mainly though it was the lovely ladies on here. I knew so little and I keep finding out more and more. The rage inside me expands on a daily rate.

Anyway, even though I can't give a personal story (although the cotton ceiling was part of it and I'm not gay) you might find this thread useful- it's all examples of things we were told would never happen. This includes people using self id to cause harm. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3348290-It-will-never-happen-resource-thread?pg=1&order=

With the positions you are both in I imagine you know some investigative reporters. Please tell me someone is mid article about West Yorkshire Police and thought crime (while not investigating requests to sell a 4 month old for an hour), Girl Guides, Stonewall advice, mixed sex toilets and changing in schools, the Equality Act and all the interwoven lines that together create an even more dangerous place for women and children. Please. I have to think that someone has spotted this and is writing a big piece that will make the change and stop this.

Laceythesheep · 16/11/2018 19:53

I heard about lesbians who are being threatened with rape for stating the biological fact women don’t have penises.

NotTerfNorCis · 16/11/2018 19:54

What 'peak transed' me was the 2017 Women's March, when TRAs scolded feminists for equating female biology with being female, and the feminists grovelling apologised. It was then I realised modern feminism (or at least part of it) was on the ropes. Reading more, I discovered a multitude of horrors including the cotton ceiling. It's mind-blowing that some women who call themselves feminists are okay with that, and with the redefinition of 'woman' to 'girly feelz'.

Binglebong · 16/11/2018 19:55

Oh and the realisation that being trans doesn't mean genital surgery or hormones. In fact that it's very unlikely to be the case. That was a big one.

Velella · 16/11/2018 19:57

Welcome Glinner

As you can see from your welcome we are a humourless bunch of man-hating feminazis.

I wish I could remember what peak-transed me. I do recall it was around 2013. But since then there has been a veritable Himalayas of peaks. I've tweeted about it all under my own name since 2015. And back then I was accused by people I know of causing kids to kill themselves for simply posting that people can't change sex.

CAAKE · 16/11/2018 19:58

When Lesley Page (former president of the Royal College of Midwives) was attacked for standing her ground and not changing her PowerPoint slides about CHILDBIRTH from "woman" to "person" to appease the trans.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 16/11/2018 19:59

The 'Rapey' Riley videos. Women are told that it's ok not to have PiV sex if they've been sexually abused but that they need to hurry up and get over it so that they can start having PiV sex again.
