I find this fascinating. Obviously, high fashion has form for being very odd indeed, but I haven't seen quite the focus on men wearing the ridiculous, impractical garb before.

I thought the comment that someone wearing the big black sleeping bag walking down the high street would potentially get a less glowing response than on the red carpet where it's all 'daring and innovative' was interesting. Because yes, the guy looks ridiculous, and he's being very theatrical, and the whole point about being theatrical is for people to notice you and to provoke a reaction.

Also, couldn't help wondering what else you could do except walk a red carpet in it. It's not really a 'nip to Morrisons' outfit, although I can see it being useful on the touchline watching your kids play sports...

As a small child I would have gleefully followed zir round chanting
Ex-Ter-Mi-Nate! Ex-Ter-Mi-Nate!

MIdgebabe · 09/11/2018 21:25

How would they piddle?

SuburbanRhonda · 09/11/2018 21:26

Earlier this week, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ezra Miller said he identified as queer.
"He is remarkable, he's comfortable with all pronouns," says Otamere.
"The fluidity and effortlessness is what really captivates me."

The absurdity and ridiculousness is what really captivates me.

MickHucknallspinkpancakes · 09/11/2018 21:28

How would they piddle?

I'd assume in a gender neutral toilet.

Avegemitesandwich · 09/11/2018 21:28

How is it 'gender bending'? Because he is not wearing trousers? Because he is wearing lippy?

What has it got to do with LGBT really?

bluetitsaretits · 09/11/2018 21:30

It does look warm though -great for snow.

Avegemitesandwich · 09/11/2018 21:31

Or is it gender bending because its usually the women who wear the attention seeking ridiculous outfits whilst the men just wear a tux or a suit?

As an aside, I can't see Ezra Miller as anything other Kevin from 'We Need to Talk About Kevin'. I'm sure he is probs my perfectly nice in real life but.....

Cwenthryth · 09/11/2018 21:31

What the actual. He looks like an inflatable Dalek. That’s not gender bending. It’s just fancy dress.

WomaninBoots · 09/11/2018 21:32

You wouldn't get abuse walking down the high street in that outfit because it looked too feminine... you'd get abuse but that wouldn't be the reason.

littlbrowndog · 09/11/2018 21:37

Lols what a piece of shite. Was he not just wearing his big jacket or I dunno, stuff u put on crops to keep them warm

bluetitsaretits · 09/11/2018 21:39

The more I look at it, I think it would be great if we get another bad winter. I could glide to the shops like a gothic snowperson. There's room for a shopping trolley under there, and maybe even a small dog.

FloralBunting · 09/11/2018 21:40

That lippy will be a right sod to get off your mugs, though. And your hair would look very odd indeed after too long under there.

But yes, I am thinking Davros, tbh.

littlbrowndog · 09/11/2018 21:42

I could pop under there being a small dog

UpstartCrow · 09/11/2018 21:47

Well he'd be perfectly safe if you tripped him up. A bit like The Grim Reaper does Its A Knockout.

InProgress · 09/11/2018 21:47

People who wake up in the morning, fling the doors of their wardrobe open and say to themselves, "Yes today is the day I want to dress as a Dalek" are either small children, Dr Who fans into cosplay or massive attention seekers.

Gender or sex has nothing to do with it.

bluetitsaretits · 09/11/2018 21:49

😂😂😂

Freespeecher · 09/11/2018 21:49

But does it have pockets?

Freespeecher · 09/11/2018 21:51

'When Davros became Davrina'.

bluetitsaretits · 09/11/2018 21:51

Boom! Great question freespeecher

RedToothBrush · 09/11/2018 21:54

At least Bowie looked GOOD!

LuggsaysNotaWomen · 09/11/2018 21:55

It’s Mr Blobby - the Goth years

UpstartCrow · 09/11/2018 21:55

Nothing is original.

I'm really too old to consider 'absurd' a goal or compliment for my life...

Have at it kids, certainly no-one in the world (of fashion or otherwise) has ever thought of theatrical or shocking attire before. Nope. Totally unique. Inspired. Changing the world.

I need a cup of tea and a lie down.

Racecardriver · 09/11/2018 21:57

I want one Blush
