I find this fascinating. Obviously, high fashion has form for being very odd indeed, but I haven't seen quite the focus on men wearing the ridiculous, impractical garb before.

I thought the comment that someone wearing the big black sleeping bag walking down the high street would potentially get a less glowing response than on the red carpet where it's all 'daring and innovative' was interesting. Because yes, the guy looks ridiculous, and he's being very theatrical, and the whole point about being theatrical is for people to notice you and to provoke a reaction.

Also, couldn't help wondering what else you could do except walk a red carpet in it. It's not really a 'nip to Morrisons' outfit, although I can see it being useful on the touchline watching your kids play sports...

The BBC classify this as 'news' these days. Journalism is a alien concept in 2018. They have to be down appealing to the kids you see. It's simply the national broadcaster acting like your embarrassing Aunt trying to be trendy and be your best friend.

bluetitsaretits · 09/11/2018 23:53

To be fair to Ezra, he's just doing what lots of celebs do by appearing at a showbiz bash in a funny outfit. It's the pretentious fawning nonsense from the journos that's even more daft IMO

FadingMint · 09/11/2018 23:56

Hmmm. The sleeves appear totally non-existent, with consequent impracticality vis a vis using one's arms. How would one go about eating one's popcorn, for example?

AspieAndProud · 10/11/2018 00:01

Looks like a cross between the Fremen stillsuits and the Bene Gesserit costumes in David Lynch’s Dune

bluetitsaretits · 10/11/2018 00:02

Oh good point! It's obviously been designed for a small veloceraptor

AspieAndProud · 10/11/2018 00:04

If kids jump on him mistaking him for a bouncy castle Peter Tatchell will blame ‘terfs’ for a transphobic hate crime.

RedToothBrush · 10/11/2018 00:05

The high street version for children.

'Gender-bending fashion'?

There's defiinitely a hint of the Michelin Man in there too. Not to mention the "inflatable Dalek" mentioned by a PP.

AspieAndProud · 10/11/2018 00:11

Why is it that the two actual designers pictured are wearing t-shirts instead of looking like Mr Whippy took a dump on them?

bluetitsaretits · 10/11/2018 00:13

aspie 😂

GenderApostate · 10/11/2018 07:43

He’s really annoyed me with this, it’s not ‘his’ film, So to try and upstage much bigger stars just smacks of insecurity and inflated ego. He just looks utterly ridiculous.

I hope they never Google Leigh Bowery. Seriously, they'll shit a pineapple.

LuggsaysNotaWomen · 10/11/2018 10:10

There is nothing gender bending in dressing up like the Dark Lord’s traffic cone, it’s just fancy dress... which is fine and fun and all of that, but they need to stop trying to shoehorn political ideology into “dicking about with costumes”.

Ereshkigal · 10/11/2018 10:26

When females are 'gender bending' it's boring, when males do it it's exciting and 'creative'

What's a "male jumper" anyway? Does it have a pouch you can tuck your cock into to keep it warm?

AngryAttackKittens · 10/11/2018 10:28

I'm so glad that someone finally thought to design a puffer coat for the long neglected Dalek market.

KingLooieCatz · 10/11/2018 10:40

If it comes in green I'm getting one for carol singing - very seasonal!

Ereshkigal · 10/11/2018 11:57

You could drape tinsel around it and pin baubles on and it would be a decent ambulant Xmas tree.

AngryAttackKittens · 10/11/2018 12:01

In the last picture he appears to be wearing a giant marshmallow on his head. Not sure how cosplay at ComicCon is "fashion".

Micke · 10/11/2018 12:55

Please don't - I'm still recovering from a cold and laughing that much really sets my coughing off.

Floisme · 10/11/2018 12:59

I quite like a bit of OTT fashion but all I'm seeing here is a padded onesie.

HomeStar · 10/11/2018 13:14

I actually like it. The commentary about it is are beyond wanky and the pronouns quote... so ridiculous! I'm imagining that dude trying out different pronouns on Ezra Miller one by one, muttering "Remarkable!" under his breath when Ezra doesn't flinch visibly at any of them.

But EM isn't responsible for the doofy quotes, and it's always nice when (people who bear a remarkable resemblance to) men wear something more interesting than a tux on the red carpet. Plus I saw those coats before somewhere and looked up how much they cost even though I knew they would not fit into my budget or my lifestyle. I just appreciate the big dramatic silhouette.

Me too 😁

@TheGoddessFrigg When I see Leigh Bowery I cannot unthink that episode of Spaced, where David Williams is the performance artist "Vulva" 😂😂😂

I also enjoyed a twitter post once where someone called Travis Albanza "a Pound Shop Leigh Bowery"
🤣🤣🤣
