Grandiose, narcissistic and deluded. Classic personality disorder

HandsOffMyRights · 14/12/2018 08:27

The fact is he got two police forces involved with Graham Linehan. A number of peoplr are complaining to Norfolk Police regarding Harrop's abuse of his position.

I think I popped a blood vessel last night. His pompous pronouncements just make me see red. I swore on twitter Sad which I promised myself I would never do although the occasional ffs has slipped out which I don't quite count. Confused

Serious question I've been wondering about - has he been like this for a long time? He joined twitter in 2013, I've been on twitter for longer than that and follow quite a few doctors, including several that he looks up to and used to have twitter chats with before they all dropped him and slipped away. Yet I only
became aware of him in January when he popped up on the news standing outside his hospital telling the nation how bad the winter nhs crisis was. I largely welcomed his publicising the state of his A&E but did wonder what the trust response to it would be. Then I read his little piece in Pulse magazine, apparently Consultants were encouraging him to do what they couldn't do as he was a locum and had the freedom. Which is all very well, but the NHS doesn't like whistleblowers and I would be very surprised if he has had any more locum work from that trust.
And then suddenly, there he is , all over twitter, literally spending his life on twitter, offending women everywhere.
Did something happen early this year? He can't have been doing this all the time he was a junior doctor, he just wouldn't have had the time. And the NHS is such a massive employer of women, he surely can't behave at work the way he behaves on twitter, he'd be eaten alive. And his pompous writing style - one can only imagine what his reflective practice notes look like Hmm I believe these have to be shared and discussed with senior colleagues as part of Continuing Professional Development?
It's like he had a Damascene conversion of the worst sort.

QuackPorridgeBacon · 15/12/2018 15:00

I think he writes the way he does to make himself look more important. In reality, he comes across as condescending and so nothing he says can be taken seriously. He is also a massive hypocrite. Saying he knows he won’t understand menstruation etc but then tells women what it means to be a woman? He needs to fuck off back to whatever hole he crawled out from. Such a nasty misogynistic dick.

papayasareyum · 15/12/2018 15:09

how can he spend so much time on Twitter and be a GP? I know a few doctors and they wouldn't have the time to do this, but he seems to be on Twitter constantly!

hackmum · 15/12/2018 18:45

It is a puzzle, IUsed. The other day someone dug our a tweet from him from a couple of years ago where he said he was voting Tory. The super-woke views seem to be very recent. What’s he playing at?

Deliriumoftheendless · 15/12/2018 18:55

Path to instant celebrity.

Or Hey-everybody-look-at-me syndrome.

www.gaystarnews.com/article/national-lottery-to-review-500000-donation-to-trans-charity-after-backlash/

Extensive quote from Dr H here.

*
LGBTI activist, Adrian Harrop, said Linehan should be ‘utterly ashamed of himself’.

‘Abusing one’s platform and weaponizing one’s influence, in an overt attempt to deny trans and non-binary children a chance to access the help and support they need in order to live successful and happy lives… are the reprehensible actions of a truly morally corrupt individual,’ Harrop told Gay Star News.

Herrop also called out Mumsnet for becoming a ‘breeding ground for the most toxic and vehement forms of transphobia’.

‘By allowing vulnerable and innocent children to be targeted in such a way, Mumsnet have become actively complicit in campaigning that seeks to make the lives of transgender and non-binary children and young people even more challenging and disadvantaged than they already are, causing significant and potentially irreparable harm.’

how can he spend so much time on Twitter and be a GP?

He can keep Twitter open in one window while he Googles his patients’ symptoms in another.

AncientLights · 17/12/2018 19:41

Wrong way round Adrian. Graham L should be totally proud of himself while you, Adrian, should be utterly ashamed of your behaviour this year. Maybe you could make a New Year's resolution to be nicer and kinder.

Ereshkigal · 17/12/2018 19:55

LGBTI activist, Adrian Harrop, said Linehan should be ‘utterly ashamed of himself’.

Dear oh dear Gay Star News, what about the "Q"? Literal violence!

Bowlofbabelfish · 17/12/2018 20:15

The fact is he got two police forces involved with Graham Linehan. A number of peoplr are complaining to Norfolk Police regarding Harrop's abuse of his position.

There is a comment on s thread from earlier this year that in susie greens TEDx talk she mentions that a key member of the West Yorkshire police hate crime unit was her child’s close friend as they transitioned

I haven’t listened to the talk so I can’t verify that, but it would be interesting if it was true. It puts an interesting spin on their keenness to allocate scarce resources to hounding people

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 17/12/2018 20:21

LGBTI activist, Adrian Harrop, said Linehan should be ‘utterly ashamed of himself’

They've corrected the spelling of his name then Wink It was originally "Herrop" so I guess he must talk posh.

I though it was interesting that nowhere in that piece was he referred to as an "NHS doctor", or even "doctor"...

Ereshkigal · 17/12/2018 22:28

Very interesting.

miri1985 · 21/12/2018 03:45

Harrop's bad behaviour has gone international, heres an article from Seattle
www.thestranger.com/slog/2018/12/20/37275129/fighting-on-twitter-in-the-uk-you-could-be-arrested-for-that

Yeahnahyeah · 21/12/2018 05:33

miri1985** to hamis for that article, but I couldn't make out the last paragraph. Was that sarcasm, or am I missing something?

Yeahnahyeah · 21/12/2018 05:34

"*thank you for that article

Yeahnahyeah · 21/12/2018 05:38

Whoops I get it now: I thought Lineham was being quoted in the last paragraph, but it was Harrop. That makes sense now.

NotBadConsidering · 21/12/2018 05:57

That’s a really good article. I also like the Streisand Effect re: our favourite lawyer. If you want to report the facts of what happened with Hayden and Glinner, you have report that Hayden was referred to as “he”. Just a shame it’s a Seattle paper rather than a UK one, although there are some good efforts.

SunsetBeetch · 21/12/2018 11:17

THE LIES!!!!

In a written statement, Harrop claimed that Linehan mischaracterized his actions. “Mr. Linehan has made a range of unfounded and defamatory accusations against me,” he wrote. “Mr. Linehan made direct reference to me having threatened and harassed women, and having ‘doxxed’ them—a specific allegation relating to the revelation of confidential information about people that they have deliberately sought to keep private. This is a grossly inaccurate and unfair mischaracterisation of my conduct.” He added that by alleging that Harrop doxed women, Linehan, who has over 600,000 followers, put Harrop and his family at risk.

Linehan, however, defends his allegation and provided me with screenshots of Harrop revealing the legal name and position of a woman who opposes the GRA reforms on Twitter. The tweets have since been deleted but, Harrop wrote to the woman, “Simple solution here [woman’s name and position]. Delete your material off Twitter. Everything. Delete your profile + remove yourself from the platform. Do that + I will remove all tweets with references to your name + job as will the others w/screenshots of your info on Mumsnet.”

LizzieSiddal · 21/12/2018 11:36

God that’s a great article. Hope the GMC ate aware of Harrop’s international reputation.

Melanippe · 21/12/2018 11:44

Oh Mr Adey Harrop, you know you have doxxed women, we have the receipts of you doing just that and backing down when a man told you to. Sorry Adrain, reality is a bitch, just like all those times you called women bitches and then denied it - how much did you end up paying to women's causes for that lie? Did you ever post the receipt from that donation?

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 21/12/2018 12:06

From that article, it linked to a different story:

Woman guilty of 'racist' Snap Dogg rap lyric Instagram post
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-43816921

Leaving aside the actual terms that the woman used, can someone explain how it's OK to sell albums etc with certain words being used but then it becomes a crime to write those words down in the same form they appeared in the song? Perhaps the context isn't clear from the article but it doesn't say that she had posted maliciously or to harass but as a tribute. What am I missing?

QuackPorridgeBacon · 21/12/2018 12:57

I’m of the opinion, if a certain word is ina song or rap etc and I like that song or rap, I’m going to sing that word. It’s ridiculous. Im not sure who the victim was or why they needed £85 for seeing a word written down that is sung by many black artists in the world. In fact, some say it as a fucking greeting to each other. I’d never use he word outside of a song or rap but like I say, if it’s there and I’m singing along I’m going to say it.
