The hypocrisy of Owen Jones & Co

Owen Jones has retweeted Shon Fae who was alarmed that the anti trans hate group (!) FPFW had talked about handing out leaflets to people in the street, including ‚gangs of lads‘.
Owen is anxious ‚where will this end?‘, apparently sharing Shon‘s assessment that this incites violence.

Which makes me wonder: do they actually think, male violence is a thing? If I were on Twitter, I‘d ask them, why they paint men as violent, just because some bad apples, NAMALT and all...
It is funny how they thought all was hunky dory when the (male) TRAs were only confronted with women to harass and beat up, but now that these hateful creatures involve males (also: did they think those blokes would not notice when their mum is in a ward together with a male or their girlfriend is upset about changing room issues? Should men have no say in the GRA consultation? This is all so silly...)

It's past 9pm so I guess he is tucked up in bed now. Although maybe under the covers with a torch. Naughty pickle!

' Naughty pickle!' Grin

No no no.

He's a revolutionary rebel.

It's 9.30pm

HemanOrSheRa · 18/10/2018 22:07

Red 9.30 is for weekends, not school nights.

I think he's decided there's a direct comparison between trans rights and gay rights and, as a gay man, wants to fight what he probably decided early on as the same bigotry.

Oh yes. I see he went further and said this:

Owen Jones

@OwenJones84

This underlines why gay people have a responsibility to speak out in support of trans rights. Not only did trans people fight for our rights, but the anti trans lobby is allied with anti-gay rights politicians who oppose our rights, too.

Huh wat.

Right side of fictional history huh Owen.

Oh it's 9.30 tonight cos he's taken an alleged bung from Guardian to stfu over his rumoured departure and so its a holiday tomorrow.

Who needs to fact check any of this shit now anyway. Just make any old crap up. As long as its got a rainbow ribbon on it no one will question it.

I may not word this very well (working class chav) but I am so angry about Owen and others conflating the gay rights movement with transgender.

Gay people fought for society to accept them AS THEY ARE. Not to accept a lie.

pachyderm · 18/10/2018 23:22

I have always loathed him preen*

Chavs sat wrongly with me. I'm proper working class by upbringing (not a boast, just a fact) and he got it all horribly wrong, the nuances, the variations - he just treated "the working class" as some kind of undifferentiated mass. And it felt patronising. Michael Collins "The Likes of Us" is a FAR better book on the same subject.
