"heresyandwitchcraft

Has this Diva magazine woman heard of the cotton ceiling and why lesbians are upset?"

  • sorry I'm new and don't know how to quote.
  • Diva the lesbian magazine employed a trans woman 'lesbian' with a penis to write a column telling women how to be lesbians, so I don't think they care,
they clearly seem to agree with all that
Zeugma · 18/10/2018 23:44

I watched NN with a visiting 18-y-o relative. I've never discussed any of this with her before. When the item started she IMMEDIATELY said 'but - but - but - sex and gender are two completely different things!'

Then reacted like this 😮 to AC

And said of Diva woman 'God, she's so WOKE!'

I'm proud of her.

Hidingtonothing · 18/10/2018 23:47

So you should be Zeugma, my DN(16) is the complete opposite Sad

tobee · 18/10/2018 23:47

Ahh! I wish the topic of suicide had been discussed and the lies employed by TRA to justify their cause, thereby guilt tripping the population through falsehood.

And, yes, Kirsty Wark should have jumped in and highlighted the offensively stupid term "cis" employed by Danielle Mustarde or whatever her name is.

Do you think that Ruth and Debbie had to agree to not go into Karen White and David Challoner in detail before appearing or something? They are not sub judice are they?

heresyandwitchcraft · 18/10/2018 23:48

AugustL
Jesus, that's poor.
If lesbians wanted to read about penis sex, they could pick up Cosmopolitan.

GColdtimer · 18/10/2018 23:48

Jemima you are not sleep deprived I agree.

(Well you are probably sleep deprived but it's not muddling your thinking)

Doubletrouble99 · 18/10/2018 23:55

Diva woman and trans woman next to her really didn't seem to get it at all that traumatised women and children might be retraumatised if trans women were in their refuge. They need a safe space surely.

BoreOfWhabylon · 18/10/2018 23:55

Well, Helen doing soft gentle voice came across like a butch Delores Umbrage and Aimee, well...

Thanks ladies, between you both, I reckon you've peaktransed quite a few more of the nation. Jolly well done!

RedToothBrush · 18/10/2018 23:55

Danielle SaladWaffle.

So great, you instantly have forgotten her name, cos your brain falls out the instant you hear her gibberish, that you obviously already know about

AornisHades · 18/10/2018 23:57

Hardly anyone watches NN now though :(

theOtherPamAyres · 19/10/2018 00:13

I've only ever seen photos and videos of Aimee C sitting down and this was the first time that I saw her moving about and strolling along.

I've only ever heard Aimee speaking softly, and this was my first time seeing her so strident, so cocksure, so dogmatic and loud.

Let's see more Aimee. Yes please. You go, girl!

TwistedStitch · 19/10/2018 00:22

Diva the lesbian magazine employed a trans woman 'lesbian' with a penis to write a column telling women how to be lesbians

Jesus that's awful.

Back to AC- watching them talking they are uncharismatic, unappealing, not particularly intelligent. How on earth has this person managed to wield so much power and influence to the point where they were enabled by a political party to run amok, are on advisory boards etc? What is it about the word 'trans' that makes mediocre and unpleasant individuals untouchable?

JillyArmeeen · 19/10/2018 00:24

Aimee fucking chalenor? Wtf are the BBC thinking?
I was watching with my family, grandad, mum, stepdad and two sisters, the 14 year old gets it. I'm so proud of her. Lucky my 9year old had gone to bed, there might have been a lot of swearing. Especially when I saw they were using chalenor, I was literally shaking with rage and fury (might have had a few drinks, we're on holiday)
Seemed like a good debate that definitely didn't do us any harm, just way too little too late from the BBC considering the consultation closes tomorrow.
And wtf are they thinking letting AC speak on this at al? When they mentioned criminal charges,, its a criminal conviction of rape torture and pedophilia!!!

heresyandwitchcraft · 19/10/2018 00:25

I would personally like to see Stonewall roll out Alex Drummond and Aimee Challenor to represent their Trans Advisory Board.
Let's talk about really "expanding the bandwidth" of womanhood, and how Alex found out she was trans after a gender studies course, shall we?

Excuse typos, wine was consumed.

TwistedStitch · 19/10/2018 00:32

India Willoughby being vile about Debbie Hayton on twitter. Nasty piece of work.

tobee · 19/10/2018 00:37

😡😡😡

Binglebong · 19/10/2018 00:57

I thought it was fantastic. Was furious at first but when I sat back thought it was great. The only thing that really wasn't touched on was the sexual fetish element.

Surgery: check
No debate: check
Reguges: check
Prision: just enough yo set you wondering
Who decided boundries: check
Sports: check
All about the feelz: check

There was.more but I think it was enough to get people wondering. Debbie was confusing but she got the great line in about boundries. Diva woman had a very clear agenda and nothing to say. Helen was really obvious in her me first attitude. Ruth was superb, covered so many points, was really clear- fab. Dr Stock was so well reasoned and calm, she got no debate over really well. Other GC in VT was very clear on problems.

And Aimee... Aimee was a gift. Shame they didn't say what Daddy Dearest's crimes were but AC will have single handily peaked so many.

I also thought Kirsty was really good (did she do the voiceover too?). Was very fair, letting Ruth make points and finish points even when Helen interrupted. Managed to come across as impartial. But she asked the right questions of the right people. No one could accuse her of bullying but she did get people back to point. Whoever did the voiceover said things and let them sink in - as few as 5% have surgery, other side won't give different figures. Other side won't talk...

Wish I knew how many actually paid attention but a lot who did will have peaked.

ToeToToe · 19/10/2018 00:58

India W - I was Confused by India's softy softy voice on This Morning with posie - because the India I had remembered was the one calling Justine & Mumsnetters nazis on Talk Radio, and screaming at women in the BB House.

Debbie Hayton has had extreme hatred thrown at her ever since she was on Woman's Hour. And what Debbie said on WH was v v good.

Binglebong · 19/10/2018 00:59

Sorry for all the typos - bed time!

misscockerspaniel · 19/10/2018 01:00

Was the Newsnight segment a late nod to the GRA consultation or put on as a response to the womxn complaints it received?

BertBox · 19/10/2018 01:30

Aimee needs to be on tv a lot more!

I thought this was the best coverage so far - I would have loved for it to go on longer, with time to really elaborate on all the issues. No one's ever been able to bring up Stonewall and Mermaids' influence in schools, and the vast rise in girls wanting to transition or be gnu. There's the huge subjects of social media contagion, sexualisation of teen girls... so many things!

Hidingtonothing · 19/10/2018 02:07

It really brought home to me just how silenced we have been so far. On one hand it was the most in-depth coverage I’ve seen (on anything as ‘serious’ as Newsnight at least) but on the other it still barely scraped the surface. It’s so depressing that it’s taken until the day before the consultation closes to get any kind of discussion going, but then that was always the plan wasn’t it #nodebate

Hidingtonothing · 19/10/2018 02:18

Was also struck (once again) by the sheer batshit-ness of this idea AC seems to have that trans is so special, so untouchable (and brave and stunning obv) a subject that no one (except them) is even allowed to talk about it. I can’t think of a single other group who’ve used this tactic to anything like this degree.
