So why is there no mention of Self ID or the consultation?
Well a for starters because there are organisations on there which will have to deal with issues where there is a clash between trans rights and women's rights and they are duty bound to take an impartial line.
And secondly because they don't want to encourage discussion. You keep the meaning narrow and people don't question further.
Thirdly there's some names on there that Stonewall does not want to end up picking a fight with. It has to be stating the bleeding obvious otherwise there's a risk of one of those organisations suddenly going wtf and making a fuss Stonewall don't want.
On that note, I'd point out there is a double intention and meaning to this advert. It's not simply about acceptance of trans people.
It's worth remembering 'acceptance' has become tied to obedience in the Stonewall cannon and church. That's what shouting transphobia at everything is about. It's not about being accepting it's also about controlling the behaviour of others.
This is a show of power (doesn't really fit with being repressed does it?). It's saying, look how powerful we are and how much influence we have, don't fuck with us. Just as much as its about acceptance.
But I do think it also reveals a fragility to that and a growing sense of losing influence and respect in its own right that Stonewall has to go: "Here look at my big brother. Pick on me and these are all my friends"
Dropping the acceptance without exception strap line is most interesting in that context too.
