Sorry, my mistake...98% ;)

ShotsFired · 17/10/2018 15:07

I want to see how Pink News spin this.

I mean the obvious angle is "mean nasty world everyone's transhopbic poor ickle us", but ya know, that's getting really lame and boring now, because they have boy-who-cried-wolf-it to death.

I suppose we could get a passing mention given our "radicalisation portal" status, but then PN wouldn't want to credit MN with that much influence?

It's a dilemma for sure...

GiantKitten · 17/10/2018 16:21

Joss thinks this survey is far more representative.

However it’s less recent (graph at the start goes up to 2016) and the wording of the question is really ambiguous:

Please think about a transgender woman - that is a man who has gone through all or part of a process to become a woman. How comfortable or uncomfortable would you be for a transgender woman to use female public toilets?

“all or part of a process”

It very much does not specify that this can include male-bodied people with fully-functioning penises, who as we all now realise probably make up 80% of “transwomen”.

I bet if this survey had spelled that out the figures would be different...

To be fair on Josh, it's an opinion and it's valid as any other.
Honestly I'm not on twitter but I don't really get the picking apart or random twitter people.
At the end of the day it's a times poll.

GiantKitten · 17/10/2018 16:31

Survey link, meant to include it.

Joss’s other opinions include that Times survey voters are all brainwashed right-wingers. Joss is entitled to that opinion too of course Grin

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 17/10/2018 16:35

It's no different to people here saying those that support self ID are brainwashed.

GiantKitten · 17/10/2018 16:55

Who says that?

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 17/10/2018 16:58

"They drank the kool aid" is said slot, I've only just found out what it means.

R0wantrees · 17/10/2018 18:12

8 403 VOTES but percentages not showing

ToeToToe · 17/10/2018 18:18

97% No Smile

FlowersAndHerts · 19/10/2018 14:26

"Should everyone who identifies as female have access to women-only spaces?"
Well, the vote closed today with 9,816 votes, of which 97% said no...

Datun · 19/10/2018 14:28

Good.

Datun · 19/10/2018 14:28

Now they know what their readers think, beyond doubt.

Gncq · 19/10/2018 14:32

Are they writing this up for the Sunday Times? (I think I read they were but can't remember!)

breastfeedingclownfish · 19/10/2018 14:32

Wonder if that one will be quoted as much as the 48% Suicide Lie

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 19/10/2018 14:34

Under 300 people said yes?

Strange.

Smellyoulateralligator · 19/10/2018 14:39

Poll closed with 9,816 votes. 97% No

ZuttZeVootEeVro · 19/10/2018 14:40

This is the problem isn't it. It doesn't matter how many MPs say TWAW and take away female only spaces, how are they going to manage and police it when women say no?

Or are they just hoping that women won't say no, and just remove themselves?

Smellyoulateralligator · 19/10/2018 14:40

Oops cross posted flower. Just call me your echo

FlowersAndHerts · 19/10/2018 14:43

SYLA Grin The result deserves the emphasis.

Women'll just remove themselves, where they can.

birdbandit · 19/10/2018 14:44

Changing the law isn't going to change the mind and experience of the 97%

Gncq · 19/10/2018 15:44

Under 300 people said yes?

Strange

I think it was the "hardline" wording of the question.
If it were
"Do you think Transgender people should be treated as their chosen gender?" The results would have been quite different.

Obviously the consequences of "treating people as their chosen gender" means males who identify as women in women's spaces, but people rarely think this through.
