Keeping it behind the paywall probably keeps it safe from a pile on by interested parties. Although Times readers are a self selecting group.

Prestonsflowers · 14/10/2018 10:30

Dolorsit
The poll is linked to the article about the poll of Tory MPs regarding self id

ToeToToe · 14/10/2018 10:32

Just voted.

98% say no - 1,254 votes so far.

Presumably right now, this will be a genuine reflection of actual Times subscribers.

TAs have, in similar polls, tried to hijack and influence the results. Will be interesting to see if this landslide result changes over time...

Would any Times subscribers mind taking a look to see if the poll is linked on the latest articles.

Yes it is, on mobile site and main site and app. (Though it can’t be filled in from the app)

Whisky2014 · 14/10/2018 10:42

1315 98%

LassWiADelicateAir · 14/10/2018 10:46

I'm a Times subsriber. I can't access it. It is linked to the current article about mps but there is no actual link to the poll.

Namelesswonder · 14/10/2018 10:51

1349 - 98% no

LassWiADelicateAir · 14/10/2018 10:54

Finally found it. Still 98%.

gendercritter · 14/10/2018 11:02

Those numbers are pretty powerful. It's just common sense to reply 'no'

loveyouradvice · 14/10/2018 11:37

Brilliant....can someone put on aibu with share token??? i would but have injured dog need to get to vet....

GraceTheDisgrace · 14/10/2018 11:57

When does the poll expire? My free articles refresh tonight at midnight...

adulthumanfemail · 14/10/2018 12:10

1616 votes and 98% no!

OunceOfFlounce · 14/10/2018 12:22

Sometimes it feels like we're this controversial minority but it's just common sense isn't it?

northender · 14/10/2018 12:28

1664 votes, 98% No
Poll closes on the 19th

1984isHappeningNow · 14/10/2018 12:29

1666 votes now and still 98 % No!

dolorsit · 14/10/2018 12:35

Thanks everyone for answering my question about links on the website.

I was curious about whether it was just Mumsnet users who were driving the increase in votes.

I quite like that it is behind the paywall as it is more likely to be reflective of their readership.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 14/10/2018 12:35

Fuck! I am so sorry!

I tried to get rid of the box across the bottom of the screen and accidentally voted yes!

I am mortified Blush

Thankfully I don't think it will make any difference as with almost 2000 votes, 99% had voted no!

GraceTheDisgrace · 14/10/2018 12:36

northender thanks! will be voting tonight then!

MorbidMuch · 14/10/2018 14:20

1,938 votes.

98% No.

MsBeaujangles · 14/10/2018 14:24

I would like to see some reliable polling on this issue (and other related issues).

When someone flags a poll on this board, the results will no longer be representative of the wider population and, I expect, it'll be picked up by TRAs who will then promote it elsewhere and that will further skew the findings.

Budgieinaberet · 14/10/2018 14:53

Voted

Biologicalreality · 14/10/2018 14:53

Well there was a crowdfunder for a YouGov poll last week. I can’t wait for the results of that to be out!

LangCleg · 14/10/2018 14:55

I would like to see some reliable polling on this issue (and other related issues).

Well, Pink News did some (18% support for self ID by YouGov) and Wings Over Scotland did some (25% support for self ID by PanelBase).

We're waiting for the results of Helen Staniland's YouGov polling on male bodies in female spaces plus freedom of assembly vs hate speech (6 questions in all) which we all crowdfunded for last week.

MsBeaujangles · 14/10/2018 14:58

Oooh. That's exciting. I didn't know about the recent polls. I think I can predict the outcome but not the percentages.
I didn't spot the crowdfunded. I would have been up for contributing to that.
