Dear @MNHQ. I do not have any gender, because as I'm sure you know, I don't believe in gender as a characteristic that people 'have', only as a stereotypical role people of a sex are expected to perform.

Therefore, as you currently hold some 'gender' data on me that states:
Barracker, Gender = Female
AND as that data is both false and I do not consent for you to hold it, please delete that specific piece of data from my personal information at your earliest convenience.

(If you would care to capture data on my biological sex, I would be delighted to offer you that data. Do let me know as soon as you create a field to capture my sex data. This should also assist you if you intend to monitor or analyse data on the Equality Act 2010 regarding the protected characteristic sex.)

Trans women are at birth identified and given the identity of a man, when in reality they are women.

That has got to be one of the most ludicrous statements I have ever read but what I really want to know is which man's identity were they given? Does he know?

You can add me to this. I do not have a gender. In fact, by current "popular" standards, I would probably be GNC. I am in fact, perfectly content with my birth sex.

'Delete your information' at the bottom, does that work? Then add back what you want. I never added children so I don't know if it works but it deleted everything (except if I was pregnant) for me.

I'd also like to be added to that list please, MumsNet. I don't have a 'gender identity' and I don't identify with any genders. And if I did, I say it should be up to me to: a) Specify which one, and b) Decide whether I want to disclose, when, and to whom.

So if MumsNet would please drop the gender stuff from my details, and in its place include fact that I'm female- an adult human female, therefore Woman- I'd really appreciate it. Cheers.

Luckily, a lot of forms now give an “other” option to the gender question, and usually give a free text box you can use if you think it is important that the organisation needs to know your sex.

The transition is their social, legal and often medical transition to living fully as a woman.

What does that mean? How do you live as a woman? It’s a real question because I have never understood what it means. I’m a woman and it’s six months since I last wore a skirt, longer since I last wore makeup. I drive a utility vehicle and wear boots a lot - am I living as a man?

Other than biology, what part of living is so typically female that all women do it? Is it being accepted as woman-adjacent by society at large? I’m assuming except for the expectations of caring for the young and elderly and getting paid less.

What are the commonalities of women which are not dependent on biology?
