I've just watched the Newsnight piece, and was obviously outraged. But then, I did wonder if it's not a subtle way of the producers showing how ludicrous their guidelines are! It seemed almost satirical.

My DHs comment was "even the Pythons looked prettier in drag".

US journalist and vlogger, Tim Pool did a video on this last night. It's amusing for no other reason than watching him trying to pronounce womxn.

He's covered a few of these UK controversies now but tends to misunderstand the nuances and background of what is currently going on in this country by applying a US culture war lens to it. Both him and his commentators seem to think this is something being pushed by feminists which is not wholly accurate.

Sophie might not be white. She might self id as something else. Check your assumptions. ;)

Presumably they could not find a woman who was not white to explain how the word woman excludes women of colour. (Or any woman who could possibly explain this )
