Publisher not punisher (although it can be the same thing)

SuburbanRhonda · 10/10/2018 16:16

I have a uterus, two kids, two umbrellas, 3 sewing machines, a suitcase and an Adult Human Female tote bag Smile

Seeing dudes on that tag wailing about the cost of the ad and how that could have been spent on other services for women.

Hey dudes - this is a service for women. And none of those other services will be representative of or safe for women if it becomes law that a man is a woman whenever he says so.

Also, cry me a river about how women choose to spend our money while Sarah Brown is swanning round on their yacht and trans activists are crowd raising for taxis, make up, elective cosmetic surgery, mail order medication, skirts and heels, and modern day corsets so that young female people can tie down their breasts.

Women, old school feminists, started those refuges and crisis lines in their own homes. Women funded them, then collected the facts and statistics necessary to make a case for more funding and support. Men didn't fund and found and volunteer for those services - it was all women. Now some men want those services for themselves but they aren't prepared to make the same effort women did - they just want women to move over.

So how's about those dudes give up their man made boobs, their lipsticks, their fishnets and stilettos, their BDSM gear, their yachts, their PORN, and fund some services of their own?

TwistedStitch · 10/10/2018 16:26

I've just seen that in the aftermath of Posie's billboard that TRAs set up a fundraiser to counter it, raised a whole £120 from 7 people in 16 days. No wonder they are so bemused at how FPFW could afford this ad, the idea of actually caring enough about an issue to put your money where your mouth is instead of just spouting bile online is alien to them.

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 10/10/2018 16:34

The campaign is a pro-woman campaign.

And if you’re bringing World Mental Health Day into it, have a word with the trans activists who tore apart a woman on twitter who is a psychiatric hospital with a man who says he is a woman. Vicious.

PersonWithAVulva · 10/10/2018 16:38

Sorry... correction... £45,815 ... just think how many spaces in a rape crisis or domestic violence shelter could have been funded using that money... how many homeless and hungry families could have been helped... staggering and just terribly sad

How sad, that women chose to spend their money on defending their hard won rights from attack from males. And their right to have female only fucking refuges in the first place!

Lottapianos · 10/10/2018 16:38

'Seeing dudes on that tag wailing about the cost of the ad and how that could have been spent on other services for women.'

Oh yes, predictable as always. I'm sure there's also 'much more important things' we should be thinking about. Twerps Hmm

MadamBatty · 10/10/2018 16:40

Think how many lipsticks that could have bought?

arranfan · 10/10/2018 16:50

DH was able to use the Metro ad to talk about GRA with colleagues at lunch.

JoanSummers · 10/10/2018 16:50

Harrop not happy about how women spend their money. Yet another thing women should have to check with him first about? How we speak, who we meet, what we buy - will be there no end to this unasked for Manly Advice?

Just think of how much money was wasted on his education, only for him to make himself unemployable by being vile on twitter to women! Thousands and thousands of pounds that could have been used to fund helplines for men going through an identity crisis. It's a tragedy.

LangCleg · 10/10/2018 16:52

just think how many spaces in a rape crisis or domestic violence shelter could have been funded using that money

Wouldn't have helped women much if men were taking up spaces. Which is rather the point.

deepwatersolo · 10/10/2018 16:54

This.

borntobequiet · 10/10/2018 16:55

Set up my standing order this afternoon...

JoanSummers · 10/10/2018 16:57

Think how many lipsticks that could have bought?

Not enough to last a dozen of the #girlslikeus for a year, judging by how thickly it's slathered on.

How can any man lecture women about how we spend money when porn and the rape trade are booming because of their own spending decisions?

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 10/10/2018 16:57

£45,815

Grin

this ad will have cost 4 figures

get a grip

LangCleg · 10/10/2018 16:57

The histrionics! The weeping and the wailing!

They know they are only this close to abolishing women's rights through elite support. They know they have captured endless resources from the corporate third sector that they've spent on propaganda and not services. They know they waste their own fundraising potential by asking for money for their own bank accounts and not services (they'd prefer to colonise ours).

The fact that ordinary women financed this with a fiver here and a tenner there exposes them and they've nowhere to go but the most ludicrous lies.

If you lot want to characterise this British socialist atheist as a right wing fundie American, you go right ahead. I couldn't give a shit and my fivers and tenners will continue to flow.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 10/10/2018 17:02

yes Lang

I'm so proud that I helped to fund this

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 10/10/2018 17:05

I'm so proud that I helped to fund this

ME TOO! I feel the same way about Posie's billboard.

BlackeyedSusan · 10/10/2018 17:10

over50 and fab lacking any empathy or concern for the mental health of women and girls who have been assaulted by men. I would go as far as being nasty to these girls forcing them to relive their trauma. And showing considerable ignorance of the mental health of these children.

also lacking any empathy or concern for a significant number of followers of some religions. more nastiness, more ignorance.

in fact you are coming across as someone who is a women hater, especially hating women who follow certain religions.

WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe · 10/10/2018 17:11

The rage from Harrop reminds me of when my DC was small and would throw superb hour long tantrums because wearing a coat in the snow/needing a bath/turning the TV off were scandalous attacks on her human rights!

LemonJello · 10/10/2018 17:19

Does he really think an ad would cost £45,815? Confused

Where did he get that figure from?

OP posts:
DereksSexyPyjamas · 10/10/2018 17:20

It's not much, but this has been the nudge I needed to set up a standing order.

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 10/10/2018 17:23

Does if balls cost that.

I expect around £3000, going by ads I have previously purchased in exactly the same newspaper.

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 10/10/2018 17:24

And I’m happily going to donate to give them the money for as many adverts as they like.
I’ll happily do a letter box campaign, anything.

Elephantinacravat · 10/10/2018 17:25

Yes, I did think that figure of 45 grand was a bit ridiculous but they seem to have screenshots from the Metro advertising site?
