Publicising that tweet has backfired on Pink News as it's just given woman another platform to raise the repugnant idea of womb transplants for men in addition to showing actual distressing tweets. This twitter feed is amazing

Amazing indeed. Made my day! Brilliant

FekkoTheLawyer · 13/10/2018 16:51

Pickering daily mail? In Kensington? Next to the Israeli embassy? Oh yes, the armed police there are such amateurs when it comes to baying mobs. That'll go well.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 13/10/2018 17:01

I can just imagine the conversation that led up to the proposed picket:

TRAs: Apologise for the Fair Play for Women advert.
Metro: No.
TRAs: Give us free advertising so that we can have our own advert.
Metro: Nope.
TRAs: Donate the money you got from the advert to Mermaids.
Metro: Nah.
TRAs: We'll stop buying Metro.
Metro: Thank you.
TRAs: Erm. What we meant was that we'll hold our breaths until we turn purple and pass out. Then you'll be sorry.
Metro: Thanks for playing!

GenderApostate · 13/10/2018 17:03

Ha Fekko - DH and me were ‘moved on’ by armed police for lingering more than a split second by a beautiful car by the Israeli embassy after coming out of Kensington Palace , yes they’re not going to take kindly to idiots protesting, masked or not.
We’re going to London for Rememberance day weekend (DH is marching at the Cenotaph) - I’ve got my suffragette scarf and my Woman T shirt, oh yes 🙂

RedDogsBeg · 13/10/2018 17:10

That Pink News Twitter Feed is indeed amazing, so refreshing to see them on the receiving end and being given a taste of their own medicine for once.

The womb transplant tweet that they are referring to was crudely put but I think it should be given wider publicity. Once the general public read and hear that TRAs are wanting to harvest wombs from women to place in biological males the tsunami of revulsion will be overwhelming, so I say broadcast that idea far and wide.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 13/10/2018 17:24

I, for one, am looking forward to Metro and the DM covering this boycott / protest / picket.

Metro has a daily circulation figure of just under 1.5 million; The Daily Mail's is 1,343,372.

You can be sure that both papers will cover this non-event and that the coverage will not be flattering. Still, it will serve to trans peak for more people so it's all good.

Paris Lees

Paris Lees is an irrelevance. The amount of time spent by PL going on about gay rights in the 80s is just tedious now.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 13/10/2018 20:55

It's weird how when the whinging stops working, they don't seem to know what to do.

PerverseConverse · 13/10/2018 21:20

Have I missed something in terms of trans rights and gay rights being compared? I was only a child in the 80s and don't remember much of what went on then. I also lived in a sleepy backwater until I was 11 and then the IRA dominated our household as my siblings were in the forces. Why is the homophobia of then in any way similar to what's going on now with women raising genuine and valid concerns about self ID?

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 13/10/2018 21:30

It's not in any way similar.
If anything it's opposite and actually is a danger to a homosexuals right to refuse based on genitals.

Turph · 13/10/2018 21:43

I'm tempted to dye my hair blue and nip down on the day with a "Free Karen White" placard. Or maybe something about TERFs and fires.

Turph · 13/10/2018 21:44

Mind you, I think the five other people in the protest might notice I wasn't with them to start with

PerverseConverse · 13/10/2018 22:04

CaptainKirkssparetupee am I right in thinking then, that TRAs are just throwing the "homophobia of the 80s" line out in an effort to derail the argument or they're actually that stupid as to believe the issues are the same? Hope that makes sense!

Jane Clare Jones on why gay rights and trans rights are not comparable:

I think some might be doing it to shut down discussion but others honestly feel not agreeing with them is equal to homophobia and is honestly hate.

Charliethefeminist · 14/10/2018 00:00

I wonder if PL goes on about it because PL was a victim of homophobia and really did suffer.

There are a number of appropriations eg excluding trans girls from the toilet is the same as racial segregation

"Susie Green, CEO of the charity Mermaids, disagrees, saying the debate about single-sex toilets seems “engineered to whip up fear” and is equivalent to “arguing people of colour shouldn’t be allowed to use the same toilets as white people in case they make them dirty”"

Allowing school resources such as Transgender Trend= 'New Section 28

Misogyny = transmisogyny

FekkoTheLawyer · 14/10/2018 06:41

It's not really the same. The numbers it will benefit are miniscule - the numbers of those who will use loopholes for sexual/violent/abusive purposes a lot larger.

It's the wrong answer to the question - which needs to begin with - why are so many children believing that they are 'broken'?

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 14/10/2018 07:49

Turph, you are an anarchist.

I like that in a person.

PerverseConverse · 14/10/2018 09:04

Thanks for the explanations.
FekkoTheLawyer my older children are 11 and 9, one possible ASD, I've involved them in all this to ensure they have facts before secondary school starts filling their heads with nonsense. Thankfully they already believe that girls don't have penises and neither do women. Sex is determined by chromosomes and gender is bollocks. I'm very proud. I've just reinforced the truth and told them how to deal with any idiot that argues science is wrong. They are critical thinkers and I'm really pleased they are. Even my three year old knows he's a boy because he has a penis and that girls don't have penises.

GladAllOver · 14/10/2018 10:43

I'm so glad my donation and my DH's donation have been put to good use. Can't wait to see what the next coup is!
