Nasty really ?

Fucking hell
When I have a smear or a mammogram I want a natal female doing it.
If I end up in a care home I want my personal care to be done by a female.
I do not expect my daughters or granddaughters to be forced to take a shower with a girl with a penis.
Also MNHQ do not allow transphobic posts, so please report any that you see

OvaHere · 10/10/2018 15:20

Do you not think trans people have enough to deal with in life?

And you don't think women have enough to deal with without having to deal with the rampant misogyny that underpins trans ideology? I support anyone's self expression until they weaponise it to target others.

And to see this, today of all days? (World Mental Health Day if you didn’t know).

I wonder how the mental health of Karen White's victims is today? Or all the other vulnerable women who are victims of male abuse and know that they can no longer count on female only spaces. Mental Health Day isn't just about trans people.

There is a much wider picture and implications here than people just being who they want to be. The general public have a right to know about and respond to government consultations, particularly women act they are stakeholders in all this.

Threewheeler1 · 10/10/2018 15:25

OvaHere
Couldn't have put it better myself.

Think we've all just been told off for not being 'nice'. That's new.
I hadn't realised MN was a radicalisation portal.......................Shock

Charley50 · 10/10/2018 15:28

Don't mean to be a downer but it's right at the back of the Metro, in with the pages of adverts. I don't think many people will actually see it.

JoanSummers · 10/10/2018 15:30

Jut had a look through the hashtag on twitter. In between the narcissistic raging and the male delusion are some hilariously blatant AGP pics. It's weird but many of them have the exact same look - large males in thick glasses, pancaked on makeup, too bright lipstick, garden centre clothing, unconvincing 'laydee' expressions.

This pantomiming of 'womanhood', when it's not so ridiculous you can do nowt but laugh, is so incredibly sexist and offensive that I can't believe women are more likely to be censored for pointing it out than these guys are to be called out for doing it! We live in an uber misogynist Bizarro World where everything is the reverse of what it should be.

Hear this MN and anyone else trying to control women and make us put up with this trash - what these dudes are doing is OBJECTIFYING and DEHUMANISING to women. Look at their pictures, look at their #girlslikeus tag, look up sissification and forced feminization and cotton ceiling, and realise that while you fanny about feeling sorry for the tiny fraction who have a disorder that causes them delusions and distress, this bunch of fetishists and narcissists is who you are really telling women to move aside, shut up, and lay back for.

Fuck that.

Redshoeblueshoe · 10/10/2018 15:31

As for Mental Health Day
You do know it's transphobic to claim trans people have MH issues ?

terryleather · 10/10/2018 15:33

"Why can't you just be nicer?"Klaxon!!!!!!!

Utterly tiresome.

LemonJello · 10/10/2018 15:35

JoanSummers Say it sister 👏👏👏

ADastardlyThing · 10/10/2018 15:36

The hashtag takeover is obviously going to backfire

One I've just seen........I'd really choose another picture to make THAT point!

terryleather · 10/10/2018 15:36

Absolutely Joan !!!!!

WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe · 10/10/2018 15:45

When I see kind and tolerant I respond in the same way Over50. When I see dangerous misogynists who want a license to cause harm, and silence women from discussing it, my kindness and tolerance switches are decidedly off.

Lottapianos · 10/10/2018 15:52

'what these dudes are doing is OBJECTIFYING and DEHUMANISING to women'

Absolutely right. It's every bit as offensive as blackface

PersonWithAVulva · 10/10/2018 15:53

Wow! All I can say is that all those of you who are gloating over seeing this advertisement should be feeling thoroughly ashamed of yourselvesNope, not really.

You must realize how man hating and trans hating you come across.

Its nothing new to us that caring about women is made out to be hating men/trans people Hmm

HandsOffMyRights · 10/10/2018 15:53

Over50

Do you actually support women? In one of your two posts you respond to a man who says his wife is "taking him to the cleaners" in a divorce with little empathy for the mother and daughter, where other women on that thread feel an empathy with the wife.

Perhaps save your 'shame' for men, not women, whose lives are already made hard because of the patriarchy.

thefirstmrsdewinter · 10/10/2018 15:55

Do you not think trans people have enough to deal with in life? And to see this, today of all days? (World Mental Health Day if you didn’t know). Are you implying that being trans is anything to do with mental health? Transphobic and triggering.

Oh – and if you are interested, I have a uterus and I have kids, and I also support anyone to be what they want to be. Are you implying that being 'what they want to be' (bless) involves a uterus? That's trans-exclusive language and literal violence.

You must realize how man hating and trans hating you come across. No, but it's super-amazing how easy it is to get called a man-hater for absolutely no reason aside from opening your mouth to defend yourself (I wish the ironing was as quick and easy amirite?!). Men who abuse and kill women are troubled and have mental health problems though, apples and oranges.

HandsOffMyRights · 10/10/2018 15:55

You rightly tell the man not to use the daughter as a pawn, but your advice regarding a settlement with the wife, who will be looking after the child, left me cold.

PersonWithAVulva · 10/10/2018 15:56

I have a uterus, no kids, two umbrellas, 3 sewing machine and suitcase

PersonWithAVulva · 10/10/2018 15:56

I lied, I have 2 kids. I just identify as having none, seemingly Hmm

FekkoTheLawyer · 10/10/2018 15:57

I missed it this morning but saw it on Twitter.

Have there been a avalanche of 999 calls and A&E visits as a result?

stealthsquirrelnutkin · 10/10/2018 15:59

And to see this, today of all days? (World Mental Health Day if you didn’t know).

I did know.

I am tortured by the knowledge that all over the country vulnerable women, permanently traumatised by sexual violence, are being locked into psychiatric wards alongside men who identify as women. That, when they beg to be given space separated from male bodied people, they are told that transwomen are women and they need to re-educate themselves.

Redshoeblueshoe · 10/10/2018 15:59

I have no umbrellas
But I might have 🍰

DoctorTwo · 10/10/2018 16:06

I have sent an email to The Metro thanking them for printing the ad, and warned them that Harumph is going to be pissed off.

noeffingidea · 10/10/2018 16:08

Re an apology tomorrow, the Metro must know what this is about by now, it's been well publicised, and they didn't print it by accident. So I wouldn't take any apology too seriously.

over50andfab do you not think trans people have enough to deal with.
My severely autistic and learning disabled daughter has more than enough to deal with, without the possibility of being placed on a secure ward with a sexual predator (see Karen White) or being cared for by self identifying transwomen who have exploited a massive loophole to bypass safeguarding.
Why don't you spare a thought for the vulnerable women who will be placed at increased risk - the psychiatric patients, the old women with dementia, the prisoners, the victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse and rape.

Janie143 · 10/10/2018 16:11

mobile.twitter.com/DrAdrianHarrop/status/1049968883002695680 He doesn't disappoint

FekkoTheLawyer · 10/10/2018 16:11

The paper would have thought long and hard. They would have flagged it to the editors and punisher. They would have considered it from all angles and decided whether to take the ad or not.

Knowing journalists, they will be rolling up their sleeves, cracking their knuckles and cackling. They will be waiting...
