Which companies/organisations do you boycott for their misogyny since becoming GC?

Grazia magazine. Read it since launch. Have not bought it since they gave Paris Lees a platform saying Paris is a woman because Paris says so.

The Guardian, obviously.

Thinkx period pants and Lunapads for refusing to acknowledge women menstruate.

Ocado, for thinking the word woman is hate speech.

I boycott The Guardian - and I pay for a number of online newspapers in the UK and internationally. I actually took out a subscription to The Times because they publish GC articles and accept comments and I don't usually read it.

Sorry to hear about Marmite, Shock what happened?!

So far I am politically homeless and have not found any political party I can support.

I will start boycotting Top Shop and I have 3 teenagers so that's definitely 100s of pounds right there!

redcaryellowcar · 30/09/2018 08:42

I cancelled my Ocado order and e mailed to tell them why on Thursday. Still no reply.

groundcontroltomontydon · 30/09/2018 08:54

The Guardian (after 30 yrs), Labour (after 30 yrs), Amnesty, Mercure. I no longer watch the BBC and I've deleted iPlayer. Any organisation that doesn't think women deserve their hard-won rights can do one.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 30/09/2018 09:10

I will be writing to Divacup to ask them if they take men into consideration in their calculations.

WetWang · 30/09/2018 11:06

All of the above. For those asking about LIly's Kitchen, the owner of the company teamed up with stonewall to show people that her company is all about diversity and equal rights...…...she sells dog food FFS

WetWang · 30/09/2018 11:06

Sorry meant to say I also boycott those mentioned above.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 30/09/2018 11:40

OK. Have had a look at DivaCup's web site and they speak of women, moms and girls. Only one mention of men (and that was in relation to "the ick factor"). So, if DC use the term "people" I can see it as referring to women and girls.

RepealtheGRA · 30/09/2018 12:40

Topshop
M and S (even though I really love their summer box and advent calendar)
Primark
Lush
Poundland
Guardian
NSPCC
Cancer Research
Amnesty
Ocado
Marmite (and I fucking love it Angry)
And anything else brought to my attention by this thread

RepealtheGRA · 30/09/2018 12:41

Oh and vogue

RepealtheGRA · 30/09/2018 12:43

M and S also let men into the women’s changing rooms. Though they are not as rude in their email response to this policy being challenged as Topshop are. When they change their policy I’ll go back. I’m boycotting Topshop for life Angry

Estellesylvia · 30/09/2018 13:15

Yes Vogue can fuck off with their offensive ‘new suffragettes’ nonsense starring male misoygnist Paris Lees. The suffragettes must have been spinning in their graves.

Read the thread now

Yep am also not giving my money to oxfam and CIN and am shopping a lot with Birdseye, they have far more products than I previously realised, lots of nice veg.

On a separate note I boycott Tyrrells crisps because they allow fox hunting across their land.

Do they really? I liked those FFS!

What have H&M done???

It's getting to the stage where I am considering a small holding and learning to make my own clothes!

This sounds like a plan!

Boycotting Leeds too now. All of it.

Me too. I went clubbing there once, never met so many arseholes in one place who didn’t want to take no for an answer. My apologies to any nice normal people who live there.

ItsNotUnusualToBe · 30/09/2018 13:32

Does anyone know whether any high street fashion retailers use transgender models?

No idea. Using transgender models wouldn’t bother me in itself, insisting I have to change next to a transgender model of the opposite sex would.

Tellin · 30/09/2018 13:52

Won't buy Grazia, stopped money to the guardian.

Switched to buying birds's eye from supermarket brand Smile

colouringinpro · 30/09/2018 20:58

Could someone poss explain the Birdseye love?

Mumfun · 30/09/2018 21:11

with regard to the Diva Cup there was a lot of pressure at one time in the cup world to include transmen who menstruate. So some of those companies use more inclusive language to include females who identify as male. I don't have a problem with that as much as a lot of the other madness going on.

RepealtheGRA · 30/09/2018 21:24

We love Birdseye because when the transloons targeted them on twitter, because they’re ‘Mumsnet rated’ rather than capitulating, they simply replied ‘potato’ unlike Ocado

And yes I do realise that there are issues with palm oil and factory farming with Birdseye, but at this stage I will support anyone who doesn’t bow to the transcult, once I’m sure I have preserved my daughters rights then I and they will campaign for animal rights and the environment, but we need our rights to be able to do that

bzzbeebzz · 01/10/2018 07:29

Had anyone got a
Screenshot of the Ocado twitter in support of Primesight/TRAs?

Tootsweets23 · 22/01/2023 09:28

Re-upping this thread to ask - I need some new makeup, and remember someone created a list of companies who are pro gender woo (Lush obviously, but there were others - L Oreal? Mac?). However I can't find it - anyone remember where this list was created?

Igneococcus · 22/01/2023 09:37

Wagamama
Which is a shame because there is one close to Glasgow's Queen Street station and it used to be handy for a quick lunch/dinner when I had an hour before the train.

Igneococcus · 22/01/2023 09:41

Oh please not L'oreal, I just tried one of their foundations (Boots discontinued my favourite one) and I'm pretty happy with it. Don't tell me I have to keep looking.

Can't find the list but I know Benefit pissed me off.

Grammarnut · 22/01/2023 20:07

I don't buy Always products since they removed the female logo. Only women menstruate.

IcakedefargeIam · 22/01/2023 20:23

Lush, didn't they also send out binders?
McCains, that misogynistic drag shite.
Didn't know about Marmite, in a year or so, when I get to the end of my current jar, I'll try the Tesco one.
Yay, Birdseye!
Dove's another one for the list then.
Ocado and Topshop which I never use anyway.
