I desperately want Disrespectful Woman on a T-shirt.

I love disrespectful woman!

What a tag line to have!

So funny- doesn’t it show how they think women are children!

Floisme · 28/09/2018 16:21

at ‘disrespectful woman’. One step away from ‘uppity’.
It would make a good billboard too.

hypnotizzz · 28/09/2018 16:27

I work hard to support my family, both financially and emotionally. It's draining. Once in a while I'd like to be a Disrespectful Woman, sounds quite liberating.

WomenMakePurchasingDecisions · 28/09/2018 16:34

So. Metro, huh? Wonder who advertises in metro.

IStandWithPosie · 28/09/2018 16:40

I love that they’re posting angry, frothing, rushed articles about Posie’s “disrespect”. Good, give her more exposure, make her a household name, the more people recognise her name, the more they will listen when she speaks, and Posie is a voice that should be heard. So yes, post an angry article about every single thing that annoys you about her. You’re helping us.

Pandamodium · 28/09/2018 16:46

That has made me angry.

Men are afraid women will laugh at them.

Women are afraid men will kill them.

Fucking disrespectful indeed. Posie must of known what she was going up against and went on anyway I have so much respect for her.

Dinodora · 28/09/2018 17:38

US have nasty woman.

We have disrespectful woman.

Can someone write a poem please?

Pandamodium · 28/09/2018 17:53

This mornings FB is split. Some people have no idea what is actually happening.

As usual stating facts is hateful and the worst thing ever, probably literal violence no doubt but a man saying feminists need a bullet in between the eyes is fine.

breastfeedingclownfish · 28/09/2018 17:57

Pandamodium

Absolutely. Posie has had a tsnuami of shit thrown at her already and she still went on, knowing she would be in for more. And was faced with three of them hectoring her. She's as brave as fuck, as is Venice, Linda Bellos, Dr Nic and all the other women who talk in public and out loud about this. We all need to do it when and where we can. I know it's not often possible, for sheer fear for ourselves or our jobs.

Disrespectful indeed. Who the fuck do they think they are? And what about respecting Posie's 'journey', or mine or any woman who will have to self exile if males are allowed into female spaces as a matter of course. Many of us are scared of men and many of us have good reason to, but instead we are still told we have to respect the males and called names if we speak out about our boundaries and our rights.

Fuck that. I'm standing for women. Thanks Posie

IamEarthymama · 28/09/2018 17:57

I have struggled trying to watch the item, couldn't open on ITV Hub, YouTube says it is blocked due to copyright
Just managed to see a bit of it on here.
I wonder if my iPad thinks I am a TERF and has blocked me?

I thought Posey was brilliant. She was calm in the face of provocation and polite even though the 3 of them bullied her.
That fucking gentle voice that Eamonn used made me feel ill.
I know that the media are complicit in the narrative around the Austerity project, having read widely around the topic, I see it again here.
This misogyny, the silencing of women, Posey framed as Disrespectful, not as nice as India, not as kind, women being presented as acting outside the femininity that is expected from us by telling the truth, bears some research too, though I fear we may need to take preemptive action before women are silenced as in Gilead.

Just noticed that WPUK has been cancelled by Leeds Council!
What the hell is going on?

ErrolTheDragon · 28/09/2018 18:07

'Disrespectful' is one of those words that carries an undertone implied inferiority. 'Don't be disrespectful to the teacher'.

Well... I'm rather of the opinion that respect is something that needs earning.

Pandamodium · 28/09/2018 18:08

We should all just be empathic and cuddly and caring and nice.

Posie was remarkably composed considered it was just a pile on.

Pacers · 28/09/2018 18:10

Love the idea of a “Disrespectful Woman” Tshirt, but seriously, Metro, WTF?

Respect is earned, not extorted.

Why the hell should we have respect for people who have zero for us?

arranfan · 28/09/2018 18:12

This Morning prefers their women meek.
Well, that isn't how Posie prefers to speak.

"Disrespectful Woman!" they all scold,
Such outrage because she wouldn't fold,
Far from crumpling beneath their disdain,
A Shrinking Violet or Wallflower Jane,
Posie spoke her truth and we thank her,
For facing down Eamonn ...

I can't find a decent way of finishing this and rhyming never has been my forte.

I couldn’t understand what Ruth was trying to say with her ‘women are doing pretty well’ (or something) comment.
Again it was a real - why won’t you shut up - arguement.

Helmetbymidnight · 28/09/2018 18:32

Toad-like wanker?

Too much?

FloralBunting · 28/09/2018 18:36

Yes, Ruth is very much of the 'I'm alright Jack' stream of modern womanhood. Probably thinks Feminism was great but has probably achieved all it can now and women are pretty much on par. Maybe the Midnight Misogynist is quoting her when he rocks up with his 'Women in the office don't know what the fuss is about.'

arranfan · 28/09/2018 18:37

I couldn’t understand what Ruth was trying to say with her ‘women are doing pretty well’ (or something) comment.

Aside from the 2 a week who are killed by a current or former partner. And the additional 30 a day who attempt suicide because they can't bear any further coercion or DV. And the 3 a week who do suicide

www.refuge.org.uk/our-work/campaigns/more-refuge-campaigns/taking-lives/

What definition of "pretty well" was Ruth using one wonders?

I had such a shit day at work today that I actually came home and cried. Then I watched some of Posie's appearance on This Morning and it's cheered me right up! God, she's bloody marvellous. 'What does "living as a woman' mean?' -YES! That nonsense needs to be challenged at every opportunity!

'Disrespectful'??? Dear god. She's as polite and calm and measured as you like. She just doesnt fawn all over people and fall for the 'brave and stunning' crap

ErrolTheDragon · 28/09/2018 19:01

I haven't watched the thing, but 'women are doing pretty well' is surely: 'women like me are doing pretty well'. I'm all right, Jill. Many of us are 'doing pretty well' but know that we're the lucky ones. Dare I say, 'check your privilege, Ruth'?Hmm

BeyondAdultHumanFemale · 28/09/2018 19:11

She's basically talking about Theresa may, that's about it. IMO.

BeyondAdultHumanFemale · 28/09/2018 19:12

Am I on the right thread now? Grin

As I just posted on the wrong thread, speaking of getting tshirts made ourselves, I had this made recently :)

Disrespectful Woman :) (Posie P on This Morning)
Helmetbymidnight · 28/09/2018 19:27

I thought posy did very well - on the spot - responding with the Philip Bunce man in the dress comment.

In future, a patronising look and a ‘ah has the #me too movement passed you by then?’

CaptainMarvelDanvers · 28/09/2018 19:28

Disrespectful Woman should be made into a big badge.

Even TM has to deal with good old-fashioned sexism. Today's Times:
