We never wanted our stickers to be used in schools says group which recommended plastering them all over your pencil case.

I think it's time to revisit these screen shots: Here's Mermaids encouraging the hacking of a private individual:

I didn't get a cogar today, but the phrase is 'close, but no cigar'....

Was I close OP? Maybe it was Susie herself!

MsMcWoodle · 22/09/2018 15:49

Here's Mermaids encouraging the mass reporting of Women's Place to get their facebook page shut down:

What makes them “child friendly” - because they are easy to understand? I assume they don’t have a picture of Mr Tumble on them.
The essence of a slogan is that it should be easy to understand.

MsMcWoodle · 22/09/2018 15:52

And here's Mermaids again asking people harass a public figure's agent to shut them up:

I used to very occasionally smoke Cafe Cremes.

:)
I used to smoke different coloured cigarettes thinking it so very sophisticated ......and then I grew up and stopped smoking ....

Imagine if I forced everyone to do the same as me and also to sit in a smoke-filled room despite the ill effects - just to make me feel comfortable - right....

Petramum · 22/09/2018 16:07

I still smoke Sobrani Cocktails, as my view its my life I will do as aI want,

This is Mermaid's and Mesmac's joint response to the TGTrend reource pack. I love the way it wields the EA. Forgetting that sex is a protected characteristic.

It ends with 'The Equality and Human Rights Commission is expected to release its guidance for schools in autumn 2018 and will be a source schools can rely on.'

God yes I know, armchairdannie.

Because for a moment there we got distracted by male rapists in female prisons,
and 4000% increases in girls hating their bodies, and horrific mutilations caused by phalloplasties, and bomb threats made against women meeting to discuss the law, when obviously the REAL issue is stickers about biology.

PHEW
Thanks for reprioritising us!

I remember coming back from a night out in the local pub to work and REEKING of cigarette smoke, despite the long walk back from the tube station.

Ah, the good old days!

Barracker · 22/09/2018 16:21

Sorry, typo, that was for ArmchairAnnie

Turph · 22/09/2018 16:22

Hmm, less of a mistake than recommending sterilising children with experimental drugs though really isn't it.
Grin

Stripping your arm to create a non working parody of a penis - fine and dandy
Stickers - oohhh the danger
Grin

If you take words as literal violence then words written on a sticker are the equivalent of taking an uzi out I guess.
Grin

Deciding to get oneself sterilized at age 10: good. Freedom of sticker choice at age 16: bad.

placemats · 22/09/2018 16:22

Sorry for the slight derail.

It's a very serious issue that you have perfectly summarised Barracker

womanformallyknownaswoman · 22/09/2018 16:28

God yes I know, armchairdannie.

The disappearing OP.. I thought MN didn't like people to start threads and disappear? In the old guidelines

I agree Barracker the numbers speak for themselves about the duplicitous priorities at play here - that have nothing to do with women and girls welfare

LangCleg · 22/09/2018 16:36

How do you reconcile the safeguarding loopholes outlined above with your wish to see mermaids/gires type information in schools?

I think Annie was the 900(andsomething)th person I asked about my pet three safeguarding loopholes in the guidance Annie approves of. Lest anyone has forgotten them, here they are:

Allowing confidential disclosures
Encouraging parental alienation/not sharing information with parents
Discouraging multi-agency working

These loopholes place gender-questioning children outwith the statutory safeguarding frameworks enjoyed by other children. When we all agree this is a vulnerable group, how can this be a good thing?

Sticker mistakes aside, I think it is fabulous that the Transgender Trend pack is Working Together compliant and does not put gender-questioning children at extra risk.

Anyway. Annie didn't answer. Perhaps this could be 1,001st time lucky?

TwistedStitch · 22/09/2018 16:45

Oh no they didn't say 'good idea' in response to someone else's tweet did they? Have you called the police? In fact I'm sure right now someone on twitter is liking or retweeting a scientific fact. You'd best get on the case OP, in case it causes somebody somewhere to have an unapproved thought.

Bowlofbabelfish · 22/09/2018 16:47

I have some biology textbooks if you’d like to burn them?

You can pile up the gender critical witches on top maybe as well?

CrackpotsArePots · 22/09/2018 16:48

HandsOff

Love love love the euphemistic meaning of support on the links you posted on page 2

"People who don't like it should be 'supported' to shut up and go away"

CrackpotsArePots · 22/09/2018 16:51

I think the OP of this this thread is a great example of people who think considering your actions, changing your mind and apologising is a weakness.

MrsFogi · 22/09/2018 16:53

Transgender Trend is fantastic and I wish they had not felt the need to apologise. I have emailed the pack to my dcs' school and would be delighted if any of my dcs were willing to stick up posters, stickers etc.

Probably already in their delete queue.

Do you need anlivhter for those books, OP.

How do you feel about Lang’s safeguarding questions? Should gender questioning children be less safe in schools? I certainly don’t think so - do you?
