Just why?

That video Ro!

Why does he have to look like a simpering idiot? And of course, it all becomes much worse when you realise he's getting off on it.

I could only watch the first few seconds, because those fawning interviewers were equally irritating.

Interestingly, the woman interviewer was searching for a way to express how she originally 'judged', and then realised she shouldn't.

Female socialisation in action.

He kept saying how he was helping people be their authentic self. She asked how. And he said by encouraging them to be their authentic self.

🤣🤣🤣

I used to work at CS. PB is a huge attention-seeker who has used dressing up as a woman to further his career. CS HR will never get rid of him as the minute anybody dares to even mildly challenge him in a professional capacity, he pulls out the 'discrimination' card.

Then Credit Suisse are cowardly, sexist, ignorant fools. And they deserve this negative publicity.

They are now going to have to pick a side.
Look like a laughing stock, or kick him out. Frankly, whatever they do, the damage is done.

R0wantrees · 23/09/2018 10:03

I wonder if the bunce has 2 lots of business cards?

Wasn't there a police officer with two warrant cards, one for his 'female' persona, one for 'male'?

AsAProfessionalFekko · 23/09/2018 10:10

Yes there is. Didn't they a do mudguide s hold as to their responsibilities to trans kuds?

R0wantrees · 23/09/2018 10:15

Whilst many are rightly focussed on why Bunce would claim a prize for 'females', as he alludes to in the FT article, the wider picture is it seems to break up any sex based definitions, eg to 'smash the binary'.

This is Queer theory ideology.
Many prominant TRAs promote 'non-binary' or also identify as 'non-binary'

See 'Everyday Cissexism' for the focus:

'Documenting everyday cissexism and transphobia.'

CraicMammy · 23/09/2018 10:22

Next pay review day, I’m identifying as a man

placemats · 23/09/2018 10:30

Exactly Datun, though I felt sorry for the interviewers, they obviously know he's a man in a dress. Discombobulation in action.

BESIDES:

True authentic is tautology.

Itches.

ChattyLion · 23/09/2018 10:34

R0wan so Bunce didn’t even understand why women feel they need to use ‘Ms’? Shock

(Not just in Credit Suisse- lots of HR diversity programmes are like this) you can bet that if this was a middle-ranking man who was NOT in a dress, who was expressing unswervingly sexist, outdated, regressive views in the workplace over time then the HR team would be having a quiet word and sending him on diversity training.

But if you’re a man and you claim you’re ‘expressing yourself as a woman’ Hmm suddenly whatever you say is fabulous and you get prizes for contributing to company diversity.

This ‘diversity’ begins to look actually a lot like tokenism when it’s just about uncritical cheering and not at all about holding everyone in the workforce to the same professional standards. Even with something as absolutely basic as with the dress code.

placemats · 23/09/2018 10:39

To lighten the mood I love Radio 4's 'It's a fair cop' This one is perfect.

www.bbc.co.uk/radio/play/b0bk1tw7

It's about neighbour disputes. Especially, the bit about white middle class male privilege.

Iused2BanOptimist · 23/09/2018 10:47

Chatty Yes, he talked about how people are used to titles such as Dr or Prof and this was no different and very hurtful when omitted. Sorry I can't be bothered to look up the full quote but it boiled my piss. Dr's and Professors have done a lot of work to earn the title and are rightly respected, often experts in the field (I'm meaning non medical doctorships here although medical Dr's also work hard for the title).
He gets to put on fake tits and a dress and demands respect! AngryEnvyAngry

Iused2BanOptimist · 23/09/2018 10:50

Found it.

'Mx matters as much as Lord, Prof, Ms and Mr
How companies choose to treat their trans employees affects moral and commercial success'
(extract)
"In August, the honorific Mx was added to the Oxford English Dictionary. It is used by men and women who do not wish their title to convey their gender and is similar to Ms, which is used by women who find it unnecessary for their title to indicate marital status. The term’s inclusion is the latest example of an increasing awareness of gender identity. Some banks and city councils have added Mx as an option on forms and the Swedish language recently added the gender-neutral “hen”. Meanwhile, Facebook offers 71 sexual orientation and gender markers and allows users to add their own.

So what is in a name and why should it matter? To many trans people (a wide range of individuals who do not see themselves in traditional gender terms) the use of correct names and pronouns is very important as this gesture signifies respect and understanding. We are quite comfortable respecting academics with titles such as Professor and Dr, aristocrats with Lord or Viscount, and those knighted by the Queen, and their wives, as Sir and Lady. We do this in some cases, whether we agree or not because the individual sees such honorifics as a fundamental part of who they are.

Iused2BanOptimist · 23/09/2018 10:51

Though I like the Swedish Hen. I think that's going to be my go to title/pronoun and when I get called out for misgendering I will identify as Swedish and explain it is, in fact, correct terminology where I come from. Grin

AngryAttackKittens · 23/09/2018 10:51

How is one meant to pronounce Mx?

Zeugma · 23/09/2018 11:04

I wonder if the bunce has 2 lots of business cards?

In one of the interviews with 'Mx' Bunce upthread, 'Mx' Bunce said their work pass had photos of their two identities on it. Just as well! Imagine turning up to work on a Pippa day, clad in your finest fishnets and lace and with that cheeky little bow in your wig hair, and only having your Philip pass! Awks.

Re the CS Twitter thread still there and clocking up less-than-supportive comments.......hmmmm. Interesting that they've decided to let this one run.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 23/09/2018 11:07

Maybe just gathering evidence...

Bounce the Bunce!
Plop the Pip!

ErrolTheDragon · 23/09/2018 11:10

I am amazed Credit Suisse haven't taken it down. Do they secretly hate him too?

Maybe this has caught them unawares over the weekend. The thing I'm finding interesting is that this is the second women's award Bunce has appropriated won. I don't remember much negativity (other than here, maybe?) the first time around. He just got nice interviews and a high profile.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 23/09/2018 11:13

But what has be actually done to win the award? Apart from throwing on the odd dress and ratty wig? What had he done? It there a citation a there?

Winner - for bringing nasty fuscia frocks I to the boardroom!

nicenewdusters · 23/09/2018 11:36

How should one pronounce "Mx" ? I think it's pronounced b.o.l.l.o.x.

I love Mx Pips deliberate misunderstanding of the use of the word Ms. If I go for a job interview it'll be immediately apparent to the panel that I'm female, whether I've ticked male/female/other. Knowing beforehand by ticking Miss or Mrs that I'm married or not is completely irrelevant. Unless of course you have three male interviewers who are interested in whether or not you're married, you know, babies and husbands and all that.

nicenewdusters · 23/09/2018 11:45

I really hope some of the f*ers who paint MN members as either looney man hating feminists, or 1950 style sad little women, read threads like this. I bet lots of us work, have families, have demanding and conflicting calls on our time, but still we make time to educate ourselves and engage in debate. These are the women who should be recognised and rewarded. Not Pip and his dressing up box.

This has been quite a sad weekend for me reading all this, but seeing just how well-informed and supportive other women are has been amazing.

ErrolTheDragon · 23/09/2018 11:47

Some women like Mx because they want to avoid announcing their sex because of sexism. It's not that they don't want to 'convey their gender', it's that they don't want to be prejudged with wretched gendered assumptions.

Biologifemini · 23/09/2018 13:12

CS cannot do much since it would be discriminatory if they do. Likewise I doubt anyone working with him is going to say this is ridiculous for fear of repercussions.

However it is a fetish and he is being disrespectful of trans by making them laughable. He clearly has no dysphoria at all.

OvaHere · 23/09/2018 13:27

Is it discriminatory in law though?

Even the government self ID proposals are suggesting some kind of clause about showing commitment (how this is enforced is another discussion). Most of us disagree with the concept of gender identity but I don't believe Bunce's interpretation was what they had in mind when adding the legislation to the EA.

Should Bunce be allowed to present as a dual personality in the workplace with impunity? At the very least it should be case of committing full time if you want to be vaguely taken seriously.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 23/09/2018 15:40

Could it be a mid life crisis? I'dvw thought a red porsche would have been more appropriate. But then I suppose there are no awards for that.

Mega show off and big head.

Iused2BanOptimist · 23/09/2018 15:45

Could CS make a concerted effort to insist he devotes 100% of his time to whatever he does in IT? Because despite his rather grand title he gives the impression of being a part time worker doing his IT stuff when he's Philip and swanning around giving interviews etc when he's Pips in his dress. Can't they confine him to the office, find important foreign trips that just happen to clash with big award nights etc?

Lancelottie · 23/09/2018 16:22

Some women like Mx because they want to avoid announcing their sex because of sexism

Some of us used to have to get a PhD for that. Damnit, think of the time I could have saved.

AngryAttackKittens · 23/09/2018 16:26

If he's being paid at all well you'd think they'd want to get their money's worth. Unfortunately up till now they seem to have believed that the publicity he generated ^was getting their money's worth".

When it's bad publicity maybe not so much, eh?
