Aaaaaaaarrrggghhhh.

Looks like his maleness was has worked for him and he gets to be recognised as a top female too.

Just why?

(I had to check the Financial Times to make sure someone wasn't pulling my leg!)

FloralBunting · 21/09/2018 19:12

Good. Grief.

As Bunce wasn't bad enough, now we have Boggis. I'm astonished.

DodoPatrol · 21/09/2018 19:21

an unladylike bugle made me laugh!

FrankUnderwoodsWife · 21/09/2018 19:28

I met Suki yesterday, he wisely steered clear of Pips, as he is more interested in gay/diversity than trans.
As a gay, i guess a straight man dressing as a woman, and retaining white privilege doesn’t sit well with him either!!

AsAProfessionalFekko · 21/09/2018 19:30

I'm still sniggering at shitgibbon

FrankUnderwoodsWife · 21/09/2018 19:30

I meant to say as a gay Indian man, i guess he probably looks down on stunts pulled by the likes of BrucePips, as it’s contrary to what he stands for!
Does the T stand for Transexual or Transvestite?!? Confused

FermatsTheorem · 21/09/2018 19:44

Sophocles I just watched a bit of that video of the Edinburgh fringe.

Now, it could be that the mic was unfortunately positioned. But given that he's having to joke about the lack of laughs (or at least, attempt to joke about the lack of laughs) I think it's fair to say a more accurate representation of the situation would be that the guy is dying on stage (in the stand up comic sense of "to die", not the literal one... I feel I have to explain that in this current mad world of "literal violence" and "misgendering" etc.)

So, how narcissistic do you have to be to put a clip of you dying on stage up on your personal website? I mean, that's surely the point at which anyone with the slightest insight and self awareness would say to themselves "maybe I shouldn't give up the day job?"

FloralBunting · 21/09/2018 19:49

FrankUnderwoodsWife T stands for neither. It's the big, catch all Transgender, which has sucked up all minor definitions like a woke version of The Blob.

FermatsTheorem · 21/09/2018 19:52

According to Stonewall, it now covers transsexual, transgender, non-binary, gender fluid (probably the rest of the alphabet) and cross dressers. Everyone and anyone who's not a boring cunty type of woman, in other words.

rightreckoner · 21/09/2018 19:55

Interesting. So not Suki. Who is pushing these people then? What stopped the people on the panel from saying don’t be so fucking ridiculous ?

Who looked at Nicci and thought “Yep - she’s up there”?

Bunce for all his outrageous blatant misogyny and entitlement does at least appear to have a proper job. Yes he’s a man but that doesn’t appear to be a barrier to winning a success at work award for women. Nicci is neither a woman nor particularly successful.

This is a gem:

MumsNet should give an award - with high bars - for parent-friendliness.

Yes please @MNHQ

A prize with proper heft!

JackyHolyoake · 21/09/2018 19:59

here is the Transgender Umbrella:

And here is Stonewall's definition of Transgender:

nicenewdusters · 21/09/2018 20:04

I'd love to see how Bunce reacts to a wet-behind-the-ears young graduate joining CS, who asks to dress as a woman Thursday and Friday and looks much prettier than him in a dress. I'm guessing his welcome one welcome all attitude would be seriously compromised by the competition.

Great to see that lots of posts on CS's twitter account were from men saying exactly the same type of thing as on this thread (I know there are men on MN as well)

FermatsTheorem · 21/09/2018 20:05

Yes, Jacky I love that one.

There's also a brilliant one where Stephanie goes back to being Stephen in order to go to his all male gentlemen's club for lunch, gets pissed, then forgets to change back into his skirt and goes into the ladies' at work. Also one where she/he goes into work in a rather snazzy trouser suit and gets tackled by one of his female subordinates because a couple of years earlier he'd stopped her wearing trousers. And a very funny one where the weedy side kick gets all worried about Stephanie being discovered by the gentlemen's club, on the basis that if he loses his membership, so too will all the members he put forward!

Alex has been gender critical and poking fun at the intrinsic incoherency of trans-ism for years!

Anlaf · 21/09/2018 20:33

I found all the stephanie cartoons, they are indeed very gender critical!

AngryAttackKittens · 21/09/2018 20:41

The individual and the role of fetishism in his behavior IS the story and what needs to be discussed in this case. Ban discussion of those two issues and you're left with "a person won an award and shouldn't have but we can't talk about why they shouldn't have".

AngryAttackKittens · 21/09/2018 20:42

If I'd been unlucky enough to inherit the name "Boggis" I'd change it.

OlennasWimple · 21/09/2018 20:44

I hadn't realised that Stephanie is a self-IDed transwoman. Brilliant cartoons - wonder how much flack the cartoonists will get though

FermatsTheorem · 21/09/2018 21:00

Well they've been running for over a year...

Though it may simply be that the loonier fringe of the TRA movement don't have Telegraph subscriptions! (I've loved Alex for years - brilliantly funny across the board). I hope "outing" the strip on MN doesn't bring the wrath of the TRAs down upon them - though I can't imagine the Torygraph giving a flying fuck, frankly. (I've just been re-reading all the Brexit cartoons - also very good.)

Michael Deacon, their parliamentary sketch writer, has also made the odd throw-away comment which makes me think he may be GC. (He's also very funny, and really rather sweet on the subject of his toddler son).

LemonysSnicket · 21/09/2018 22:01

Ffs.

Man uses maleness to get to the top, switches identity, lauded as successful female without ever having to see what women go against in the first place

The new frontier of oppression

LemonysSnicket · 21/09/2018 22:02

No style either, hot pink and blonde? Stuck in the early 2000s much

AsAProfessionalFekko · 21/09/2018 22:15

Well they do say that your fashion sense clock stops in your mid 20s. When did the bunce discover his inner gal?

TerfedOff · 21/09/2018 23:25

Has anyone mentioned this drag queen who is also on the list?

Apologies if so. Haven't read the full thread.
