Politicians underwear

For no particular reason Wink... I wonder how many politicians have put pictures of themselves in their underwear online publicly?

It seems very odd to me that someone who says they want to be an MP and later the prime minister would do this. Surely if you were at all politically savvy you'd know this was a bad idea?

I know that some MPs have posed in swimwear- one because she had been a lifeguard & when a paper found old pics she gamely posed again to highlight lifeguards great work.

But in underwear?

I'm refraining from sharing opinions about specific things, like a grown up.

It's bloody hard though. that's what he said

OlennasWimple · 21/09/2018 18:05

Penny Mordaunt did "Splash!" (the terrible celeb diving show) years ago when she was a new MP (she rocked the sensible swimsuit look)

John Major's y-fronts were pretty famous, but we jsut had Edwina's descriptions of them, not pictures (thankfully)

Gloria Del Piero was coerced into glamour modelling when she was just 15, and of course the photos ended up on the internet when she was elected

And Jeremy Corbyn is planning a centrefold spread in Cosmo in just his kecks to kick off the next General Election campaign, whilst it is understood that Philip Hammond will cover his preference for silk boxers over tighty whiteys during his next Mansion House speech

Hmm
CrackpotsArePots · 21/09/2018 18:07

Olennas

Ooooh; just had a look at PM. Out of respect I won't link. Like the sensible swimsuits

Charliethefeminist · 21/09/2018 19:38

Thanks for the PM. The state of that whole situation. Someone needs help.

Now, as you were! Also I don't think Boris Johnson would mind being seen in his boxers

Charliethefeminist · 21/09/2018 19:40

I've got a Boris goes braless and flaunts his assets if you like

Charliethefeminist · 21/09/2018 19:41

John Major famously used to tuck his shirt into his underpants...

MrsTerryPratchett · 21/09/2018 20:07

Justin Trudeau appears to spend half his life with no shirt on. Google it. From his early boxing pictures to his current surfing/running pictures.

Could someone PM me as I also don't understand what this thread is about.

GenderApostate · 21/09/2018 20:13

Pm sent Mrs TPWink

VickyEadie · 21/09/2018 20:19

Once you do know, it's feckin hilarious.

SirVixofVixHall · 21/09/2018 20:20

I’d like a pm too please. 🙂

MrsTerryPratchett · 21/09/2018 20:58

powershowerforanhour · 21/09/2018 23:30

Vivarium - kinky boots, not kitten heels.

borntobequiet · 22/09/2018 06:49

Would like to know about this...anyone, please?

OrdinaryGirl · 22/09/2018 06:57

PM too please! Have a feeling I better not google... 😳

SophoclesTheFox · 22/09/2018 07:06

That picture of boris! Jesus Christ, I've not had my breakfast yet, I wasn't ready!

For the rest - yes. Some politicians have extraordinary ways of bonding with their constituents that some other politicians would never, ever get away with.

Zioanna · 22/09/2018 07:28

Oooh, what am I missing? Can anyone send me a PM?

AngryAttackKittens · 22/09/2018 07:50

Boris has managed to create an entire outfit in which no items goes with any other item. That's quite an achievement.

SophoclesTheFox · 22/09/2018 08:18

It's like he just dived into the bag that was about to go to Oxfam and rolled around a bit.

MarklesMerkin · 22/09/2018 08:43

Our world today is so very small and the slightest hint of scandal or controversy can ruin even non-political careers.

It depends if you belong to a certain section of society though doesn't it? Some people get away with all kinds of things that others wouldn't purely because they make accusations of bigotry and throw an almighty mantrum if anyone dare question them. A bit like narcissistic injury ...

Narcissistic injury is the term used for any threat to a narcissist's outsized ego or self-esteem. Remember that those with narcissistic personality disorder have a distorted sense of their own self importance and consider themselves superior to others as well as entitled to whatever they want.

They live in a fantasy world where they consider they have great success and/or power, intelligence and beauty. They believe they are unique and deserving of special attention. They require praise, admiration and attention to boost this ego and inflated image of themselves.

BeyondAnOmnishambles · 22/09/2018 09:25

Yeah some politicians and celebs have a Teflon coating that no one else would get away with

borntobequiet · 22/09/2018 10:13

Anyone? Don’t be mean...

poshme · 22/09/2018 10:43

I don't know how to PM on my phone.

In this case, we are extending the word politician to include those people who might be women's officers. Most of these people are women who are XX. Some of them are not.

Many politicians post pictures on twitter of themselves meeting people. Out and about. Others post pictures of their recent clothes purchases.

Obviously, it is entirely up to political people to decide what they put on the internet. This is just a thread pondering how many political people chose to share pics of themselves in underwear.
(& swimwear) Smile

poshme · 22/09/2018 10:44
