Yeah, I agree AAK. I was trying not to be too quick to judge as am feeling rather set off by all of this, but good grief the tone and language is awful. All about how to get the best result for the offender, not about anyone else's feelings or legitimate concerns.
Now I know that the view is that people must be allowed to move forward as rehabilitiated people otherwise a sense of pointlessness may lead to them re-offending, but surely if people are so easily set back and unprepared to deal with the consquences of their conviction (I was going to say consequences of their crime, but it is the victim who truly has to deal with that), why on earth are they being released in the first place.
And of course how many offenders really are truly rehabilitated when they are released? And sex offedners - we aren't talking about petty thefts or smoking weed. FFS.
