The Times reporting on the smear campaign against academics run by 'Natacha Kennedy' of Goldsmiths. Given how movingly women academics have written here about the fear and intimidation they experience working in universities, how good to see the source of the bullying exposed. share token:

And a brilliant article by Janice Turner about dangerous trans rapists in women's jails:

So pleased that I took out a subscription to the Times.

In fairness to Polly Carmichael, it is very difficult to distinguish between staff and patients at The Tavistock. Although it is a working hospital, the distinction isn't clear between students, patients and staff, other than when they are clearly children. Staff are explicitly told not to make assumptions.

Sorry to have been misleading, btw!

I'm puzzled by this lift interaction at Goldsmiths. How did Jen know this person was from the Tavi and why would PC then assume a random person they met in a lift would know who they were, where they were from and what "service" they ran to ask them if they were a service user?

The article about the paper that "he and she" wrote says that he/she couldn't interview GNC/trans children for ethical reasons, so interviewed adult transgender people about their childhood. No reason to think there might be some sort of confirmation bias there then.... And this "peer reviewed" study fails to notice that one person is presenting themselves as two.

But when Lisa Littmann publishes a peer-reviewed study based on interviews with parents about their GNC/trans children for her study, her university and the publisher immediately take fright and she is likened to recruiting views about black people from a white supremacists website???

It does sound puzzling in that case!

If PC said to a random person, in a lift at Goldsmiths, ‘are you a service user’, they wouldn’t have a clue what she was talking about!

My guess would be they were talking about GIDS at the Tavi at the time. However, assuming the other person wasn’t a child or adolescent, PC would be referring to bring a user of The Tavistock’s other services?

It's quite electrifying to see these in the Times this morning.

Brava to Lucy and Janice.

Trans children can be and are interviewed for research purposes. There are ethical issues to address but research is undertaken.

There are merits in exploring the school experiences of young people currently in school and of adults looking back at past experiences. Useful knowledge can be generated from both.

There are pros and cons of researching subjects that you are involved in and removed from. Both are liable to bias, it is how the bias is managed that is key.

Behind the hyperbole, research is taking place and balanced people are getting ethical approval to explore all manner of things trans related.

I don’t even think that researchers are having to fly under the radar. It is unusual to get any mainstream attention for published research, let alone attention for research currently being undertaken.

I have no doubt that researchers exploring trans related issues could garner much attention from their research at any stage of its undertaking, but no serious researchers would want the kind of attention it would attract!

That video of Natacha is interesting. I didn't get all the way through it, but I did notice the critique that as the modern west has become more 'material' and less 'spiritual', trans people have had a harder time than they do in other cultures that are still 'spiritual' like native Americans etc.

Which really does feed into my increasing conviction that TRAism is a sort of parasite neo-religion, which is why do many of it's adherents are impervious to rational argument. It's feeding on the religious impulse in human nature which bypasses the part of the brain that accepts simple facts and allows for the acceptance of wildly outlandish, even contradictory things.

Hurrah for Janice, Lucy and The Times!

Hurrah for James Kirkup, Andrew Gilligan and Joani Walsh!

Hurrah for BBC Radio 4 presenter Carolyn Quinn, who yesterday actually stated that the transwoman in the prison row still had a penis!

Just a few months ago all this would have been unthinkable. Every day, more and more is being revealed in mainstream media about the dark, misogynic transcult.

Every day, more and more people are seeing that the emperor is stark bollock naked.

The wheels are coming off the bus and it is careering down the hill, out of control. The occupants are going to redouble their efforts, though and it's going to be a very bumpy ride before it finally crashes.

An expose of the interlinking of the individuals in the driving seat is needed now. I do hope someone is working on it.

@VickyEadie - I took it to mean that they had shared a car ride together rather than an elevator so there was more time for chat. I agree it would have been a very odd remark to make to someone in the few seconds spent travelling between floors.

Thanks again to Janice Turner for articulating the issues so much better than I could.

I read it again. Jen doesn't say this happened at Goldsmiths specifically, my apologies. But definitely not at a GIDS. She shared a lift (whether elevator or car not said) with Polly Carmichael. The implication of the paragraph is that Polly felt free to ask Jen whether or not she was a service user of a GIDS on the basis of her presentation alone, with no other information.

The chapter Jen contributed to the book is about the links between transgenderism, transhumanism and queer theory. She begins it by relating various anecdotes in which others assumed her to be trans by dint of presentation (short haircut/androgynous clothes) alone. The Carmichael story is one of them.

This is turning into a total derail now - wish I'd not picked that one (of many) to type out! I'll leave it now.

I clicked on your link, anlaf.

Fucking hell.

Why is it all so porny??

(I know why. But still. My poor eyeballs).

I'm off for a lie down to recover.

I would like to distance myself from ownership of the link, tbf. Grin

But it's horrifying/fascinating - so much is around humiliation associated with being a woman or with being a weak, small-cocked man. So much is around porny poses.

But i was shocked (when I looked it up) to see just how little of it is people getting on with their lives, having a chat on twitter. It seems to be a badge with a distinct meaning.

(It's possible of course Natascha would be horrified to see this and would update that facebook intro like hot potatoes)

I'm not going to post anything else here because it is a day of rest, but I did chuckle at one post "FIND YOUR BLISS - ERASE YOUR MASCULINITY" emblazoned across a photo of a transwoman wanking (with willie) in a pair of fishnet stockings.

Sorry -something of a derail.

I won't hold you responsible, anlaf!

For those who wish to keep their eyeballs safe, I can report back that about 90% of the tweets containing "transgirl" also contained a hashtag or a picture relating to porn, camming, escorting, fetish, kink, nudity and sissyfication. And one heartbreaking post about a young person being bullied.

All just a coincidence that Natasha isn't aware of, I'm sure.

Is anyone else dying to know how this two names thing works with Mark/Natasha's REF submission?
Maybe they have to write twice as many papers because they're two people. Or they can count each paper twice because both Mark and Natasha wrote it. Or they can submit whichever one is higher rated on average.

The clue was there all along.

His twitter handle is Saboteuse (sic). Should be Saboteur, Mark.

To sabotage: deliberately destroy, damage, or obstruct (something), especially for political or military advantage.

Not a good look, in hindsight?
