Cross over from the Green Party terf blocker stuff.

Harrop and his merry band of TRAs are trying to convince Caroline Lucas that it's all the fault of evil terfs really.

So there's Harrop, known harrasser of gender critical women, Terf Blocker, known for lass blocking and reporting of GC women, and LisaQuestions who identified David Challenor's victim

Is it on the front of the print version? I'm going to buy a copy on the way to work and leave it in the coffee room. Have to be careful in the NHS but I'll be watching for reactions. Wink

Igneococcus · 26/09/2018 06:39

I don't know about the print version Iused in the online version it is the first thing I saw when it loaded.

ErrolTheDragon · 26/09/2018 06:50

In the app version it's linked on the 'best of news' section, but there's also this. Hmm

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/labour-should-relax-about-trans-women-says-emily-thornberry-89sntjsbk?shareToken=66303411561aade9ff28a70117d4136a

The front page has a link to the trial of a man accused of murdering a transwoman

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/university-dropout-jesse-mcdonald-killed-trans-woman-after-sex-and-drug-binge-kwfskrkcl?shareToken=7608dbd274835a6f654321bac04bd421

...male violence. Not words. Sad

Iused2BanOptimist · 26/09/2018 08:09

Top class comments. Though one person has said they will avoid Sunderland for fear of being treated by Mr Harrop which has reminded me : DD is going to a Newcastle uni open day.Shock If she ends up there I will have to send advance notice to all hospitals and Gp surgeries that under no circumstances can she be attended by him.

Ooh yes, great idea! A cheap thing we can all do.

Ereshkigal · 26/09/2018 09:28

Leave it on public transport if not.

GulagMilkMonitor · 26/09/2018 09:48

I’m going to buy the paper, photocopy the article and plaster it everywhere on the school run later today. That and a Karen White article.

SunsetBeetch · 26/09/2018 09:56

Good Lord:

"Giuliana Kendal is a brave & inspirational woman who, at huge personal cost, is fighting for justice & truth for the entire #trans community, against dangerous & malevolent forces which exist in our midst. My thoughts are with her today. 💐

He is a weapons grade misogynist.

TwistedStitch · 26/09/2018 10:14

I would actually think he was a GodfreyElfwick type spoof were it not for the fact that he's known by people in real life.

BettyDuMonde · 26/09/2018 10:51

The photo of the Dr on the Times article isn’t very flattering. Nasty-smug-face.

Posy looks great though, serious, but without any of that ‘’traumatised-because-my-kid-got-sent-home-from-school-in-the-wrong-footwear’ newsdesk aura.

Love the Times comments.

BettyDuMonde · 26/09/2018 11:03

Talking of newspaper photos - just read the article on the murder trial of the man who killed transwoman Naomi Hersi.

Photo of the victim and the perps girlfriend, who was just 17 at the time. No photo of the accused. WTAF Times?

I hope Hersi’s family get justice (although having lost a loved one to murder almost 20 years ago, I know peace is unlikely).

BeUpStanding · 26/09/2018 12:13

He's such a raving misogynist. Has he ever gone after a man? Who are all the women he's targeted? Would be good to see a list...

ToeToToe · 26/09/2018 12:40

I did laugh at his little picture on the Times article (and in the massive backdrop of the Sky news review) - he looks such a smug dick. With the stethoscope round his neck "I'm a real doctor - see the stethoscope!"

ToeToToe · 26/09/2018 12:43

Here's Brendan O'Neil's outstanding speech on the Times article.

As I said on the other thread, it really comes to something when Brendan O'Neil is pointing out the misogyny in the trans rights movement.

arranfan · 26/09/2018 13:05

Somebody's a bit hacked-off that AH is taking all the attention/praise for having the billboard removed.

Inaccurate reporting by thetimes again! The poster was removed following a number of complaints by WOMEN (cis and #transgender). DrAdrianHarrop was but one of many people who raised concerns. Posie Parker is a known advocate for #transphobia. The PR company apologised to us all

They all shot themselves in the foot then - there are more people talking about this now than ever - the Streisand effect in action.

They would have been better off leaving it quietly on that corner in Liverpool.

GiantKitten · 26/09/2018 13:23

It was only him though, as far as I can see, although I admit I don’t understand what it means when a tweet has names tagged at the bottom.

Images of his original tweet - ‘Joss Prior & 9 others’ - and of the 10 individuals. They’re the “WOMEN - cis and transgender” cited. The only “cis” are mimmymum 🙄 and, possibly - who knows - the Echo journalist, who doesn’t seem to feel a need to mention her pronouns.

But where does it show them complaining too? It’s all smoke & mirrors.

Oh, I overlooked the cis lesbian. 3 cisses then. Not that that proves anything.

TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 26/09/2018 13:43

Stephanie Hayden appears to be a very tenacious individual, and also claims to be very litigious and a frequent communicant with West Yorkshire Police. Have a look at this: twitter.com/TerfClub/status/1044879508636147714 I did smile when I saw that SH was elbowing Harrop aside to get some of the credit for removing the billboard. I saw a tweet, which I think was from SH, saying there were at least 14 people who complained, but as someone else said that could easily mean 2 real people and one putting on funny voices.

Knicknackpaddyflak · 26/09/2018 14:03

He is kind of a latter-day Mr. Slope, isn't he?

Grin He always reminds me of that drearily self important Mr Collins in Pride and Prejudice.

Iused2BanOptimist · 26/09/2018 14:10

Hahaha Knickknack. Mr Collins it is. Grin

I’m late to this but just saw the news coverage today. Is this grounds for reporting Harrop to the GMC? As a woman, I would be horrified to find out my GP thinks the word ‘woman’ constitutes hate speech. This shows a terrible lack of judgement, and there is every reason to believe this might impact his ability to give proper medical care.
