www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/leicester-news/decisions-led-dad-become-transgender-1944624

"As well as having made the huge decision to begin transgender treatment, Martin also decided that he would not hide any longer.

He would come out as a transgender woman - as Katie - in a way which was very publicly indeed.

Since then, he has been shouting his experiences from the rooftops via social media and local radio and – by and large – has received something of a hero’s welcome."

"Martin/Katie was not only heterosexual, he wanted a child.

He cut his hair, fell in love and the couple had a child together, who is the apple of his eye.

Then in May last year, Martin went to see a clairvoyant he had met at a business networking meeting.

“I went along for a reading because I’d never been to one and I was intrigued,” she says.

What she told him was that he needed to start a new way of being and said there was a part of him that had always been there but that he was not fully in integrity with."

"after that, my gender dysphoria increased dramatically – I was so desperate to identify myself I even Googled ‘what gender is Martin Neeves?’ ”

Desperate, confused and in turmoil, he joined a support group on social media and someone suggested he should see a specialist gender counsellor.

After four successful sessions, in which he says he "hit the ground running", he felt that he was "gender fluid" ("nature doesn’t do black and white, it presents a whole spectrum.")"

"Katie now says: “After counselling and working through therapy on how to identify your gender, I now know I am 70 percent female and 30 percent male.

"It was my fear stopping me from admitting I am actually a transgender woman.”

A second visit to the clairvoyant resulted in a four-hour clarification session using deep meditation and other methods as a way of encouraging and revealing inner truth, with all the answers coming from Martin."

"She looks wonderful and feels great. Her prescribed hormones have made her skin soft, and as a naturally slightly-built person, she has an enviable figure.

She counts herself lucky as many other transgender women are naturally of a heavy build.

Brave determination has paid off, she is happier and more relaxed than ever.

Katie’s name will not be considered for the long waiting list for the actual operation to make her into a woman sexually, until she has lived full-time for a woman as a year."

Rat has never answered anything ever. She just goes round and round and round on her treadmill squeaking, 'I answered this last year.' She didn't.

And now she's the poster girl for GCMN. You have to love the irony. I do, I love the irony Grin

SausageOnAFork · 29/08/2018 19:00

I wonder if 12th might actually be a TRA saying something like that just to then screenshot it and stick it on Twitter just to prove how dreadful we all are.

Happityhap · 29/08/2018 20:13

Sausage! Surely never!

TheCountryGirl · 29/08/2018 20:17

It would certainly explain why 12th was fine about being slagged off....when it happened to Bespin you could tell it gave him pause for thought over his allegiance but with 12th there was nothing.

OlennasWimple · 29/08/2018 21:45

Maybe Martin/Katie could just accept 70% of the award? Sure they can throw some crumbs to one of the old fashioned becunted type women in the East Midlands (maybe even one with a face!)

AngryAttackKittens · 29/08/2018 21:50

Even if someone did answer a question last year, do they honestly expect people to remember, or go looking for that old answer?

Ereshkigal · 30/08/2018 08:19

mentalhealthintervention.org/fifty-shades-of-grey-rock/

Due to previous experience I've become good at spotting certain personality types wherever they appear. It's good advice for how to deal with them in the healthiest way for you personally.

No one is obliged to let people talk down to them and treat them like shit because they're having a hard time emotionally themselves. Other people's feelings are not something that can just be dismissed as irrelevant or less important. You don't get to decide that. This idea that some people's feelings are superior to others seems rather too common among people who hold certain beliefs.

Some people would do well to remember that.

Ereshkigal · 30/08/2018 08:28

Even if someone did answer a question last year, do they honestly expect people to remember, or go looking for that old answer?

No. They don't. That's why they say it. To avoid answering.

I did actually once do it, after being on a thread where a statement was made and denied within the space of about four posts. Where a poster denied they were ever cruel to others. Did I get an answer to this direct challenge after being invited to do this? Hmmm.

TinselAngel · 30/08/2018 11:35

"“We patched it over and managed 13 years together but it was always there, and we finally divorced," says Katie, who felt better because of admitting it to himself."

God it makes me feel ill, the lack of consideration given to the wife and children when these stories are told.

Beany04 · 06/10/2018 10:28

1st I would just like to say...... if you read the whole article you will read that the NHS ISNT PAYING FOR ANY TREATMENT!!!
Yep that’s right Katie has and is paying for everything herself!!
It’s so easy to sit behind a computer screen and judge someone......
what katie has and is going through is brave and has took strength too!!!
She is also an ambassador for others going through transition and making a difference to people..... sometimes some can get depressed and worse take there own lives because most likely not helped by small minded comments like these....... I really hope none of your families need your support and understanding 1 day regarding the same subject as they will hit a brick wall!!!
But hey Katie will be there to help them!!!!

terryleather · 06/10/2018 10:31

Brave and Stunning Klaxon!!!!!

TinselAngel · 06/10/2018 10:37

You sound like you know the family @Beany04,please do point Katie's wife in this direction:

RealGhouls · 06/10/2018 10:43

Mumsnet welcomes our new stunning & brave 70% female, 30% male overlords.

alallalal · 06/10/2018 10:56

Oh my god. Seeing those names gave me actual shudders.

I've namechanged and need to write this carefully - I'm not sure if we're allowed to talk about personal experiences, so won't go past this post, but I know this person in real life.

"More relaxed than ever"? Not even close.

GollyGoshGreat · 06/10/2018 11:04

alallalal Flowers

Beanie04 stick around and enlighten yourself. This individual has all the hallmarks of being an AGP narcissist. They’re getting their rocks off on you validating their sexual fetish.

Beany04 · 07/10/2018 00:44

GollyGoshGreat ..... it’s Beany04 not Beanie04 (just saying)
Wow very harsh and judgemental words there!!!
Good job you have that computer screen to
hide behind...... you brave thing you 😂

GollyGoshGreat · 07/10/2018 12:01

Beany04 these are the exact same words I would use to you or the individual in questions IRL. It’s not brave, it’s simply honest.

You can’t be born in the wrong body. You can’t change sex and if you’re an adult human female you can’t pick and chose how you present yourself.

Open your eyes.

PalatineUvula · 02/04/2019 23:13

Here's Katie surprising none of us by making a couple's wedding shoot all about Katie

www.dailystar.co.uk/real-life/769530/Sex-change-gender-dysphoria-transgender-wedding-photographer-newlyweds-bride-groom

NotTerfNorCis · 03/04/2019 00:02

Katie seems to be a very popular name with transwomen.

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 03/04/2019 01:21

I pop in and out of FWR threads and even I've noticed RatRoly, that you deflect and claim you've already answered questions about your stance on trans but happily will write post after post telling posters they're wrong when you could have easily answered their questions in half the time. People understandably get impatient and suspicious when it appears that you avoid direct questions like 'what is a woman' when you're so vocal that you're way of thinking is right but yet won't explain what that is. Genuine question, because I've yet to hear a convincing argument otherwise.

LimeKiwi · 03/04/2019 01:57

Zombie post

PalatineUvula · 03/04/2019 02:27

Katie is in the 'news' again, hence.

StopThePlanet · 03/04/2019 04:14

"... borrowing my sister’s clothes (and my girlfriend’s), in secret ... "

Borrowing is not possible without permission regardless of intent to return later or return immediately; this type of borrowing is called theft.

Beyond this individual's honesty transgressions, they wore other people's undergarments without permission. That is fucking weird as fuuuuuuuuuuck.

polarpig · 03/04/2019 04:30

Stunning, brave trans lady is ridiculous. Bravery is not going in your local paper over a life style choice.
I find the quotes from the wedding couple rather nauseating.
If any trans people are brave it is the ones who quietly get on with their lives doing ordinary jobs, dressing as any average man or woman would and not, in the case of mtf, dressing as if they are a mannequin in a sexy clothes shop.

A pp said it's funny how they wait until they have had children before transitioning, are trans people not allowed to want children ?

ImFineThankYouSusan · 03/04/2019 05:13

Now I'm officially a woman, I have a female passport and driving licence, so I suppose I would be officially labelled as a lesbian but it does not feel any different at all

The fact that they felt the need to mention that they are now a 'lesbian' in a relatively short news piece that had naff all to do with their 'sexuality' says it all.

I am so, so tired of males claiming to be lesbians. It's ridiculous and horrifying for actual lesbians.
