www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/leicester-news/decisions-led-dad-become-transgender-1944624

"As well as having made the huge decision to begin transgender treatment, Martin also decided that he would not hide any longer.

He would come out as a transgender woman - as Katie - in a way which was very publicly indeed.

Since then, he has been shouting his experiences from the rooftops via social media and local radio and – by and large – has received something of a hero’s welcome."

"Martin/Katie was not only heterosexual, he wanted a child.

He cut his hair, fell in love and the couple had a child together, who is the apple of his eye.

Then in May last year, Martin went to see a clairvoyant he had met at a business networking meeting.

“I went along for a reading because I’d never been to one and I was intrigued,” she says.

What she told him was that he needed to start a new way of being and said there was a part of him that had always been there but that he was not fully in integrity with."

"after that, my gender dysphoria increased dramatically – I was so desperate to identify myself I even Googled ‘what gender is Martin Neeves?’ ”

Desperate, confused and in turmoil, he joined a support group on social media and someone suggested he should see a specialist gender counsellor.

After four successful sessions, in which he says he "hit the ground running", he felt that he was "gender fluid" ("nature doesn’t do black and white, it presents a whole spectrum.")"

"Katie now says: “After counselling and working through therapy on how to identify your gender, I now know I am 70 percent female and 30 percent male.

"It was my fear stopping me from admitting I am actually a transgender woman.”

A second visit to the clairvoyant resulted in a four-hour clarification session using deep meditation and other methods as a way of encouraging and revealing inner truth, with all the answers coming from Martin."

"She looks wonderful and feels great. Her prescribed hormones have made her skin soft, and as a naturally slightly-built person, she has an enviable figure.

She counts herself lucky as many other transgender women are naturally of a heavy build.

Brave determination has paid off, she is happier and more relaxed than ever.

Katie’s name will not be considered for the long waiting list for the actual operation to make her into a woman sexually, until she has lived full-time for a woman as a year."

She has some videos on his Youtube channel. She has uploaded in HD 1080p so you can see the true beauty as she goes through the horrors of facial hair removal.

He is an 'ambassador', obviously because putting on a frock isn't stunning and brave enough on its own

My left leg is a bit on the male side. I keep trying to pretty it up. Tips? I should pop over to Style and Beauty.

cheesefield · 28/08/2018 20:13

Anyone want to come in my rocket with me? I'm done with this bonkers brexiting 70:30 shithole planet.

LonginesPrime · 28/08/2018 20:16

You're all missing the best bit about the clairvoyant:

Then in May last year, Martin went to see a clairvoyant he had met at a business networking meeting.

'Zena, this is John, he's a bank manager at Lloyd's on the high street. John, this is Madame Zena of the mystic East, she reads palms and dabbles in a bit of tarot..'

SlipperySlipper · 28/08/2018 20:18

"The operation won’t make Katie a lesbian, as the is already recognised by the NHS as female, so technically, she already is."

What?

gendercritter · 28/08/2018 20:18

I would like clarification as to how one establishes what percentage of oneself is male or female. Genuine question. If I like motorbikes, does that count as 1%? What about mud/beer/crying?

Ereshkigal · 28/08/2018 20:19

Is this the new midlife crisis?

Oh yes.

tobee · 28/08/2018 20:19

I'm so fucking bored of these narcissists. And media outlets indulging in symbiotic titillation. .

eurochick · 28/08/2018 20:20

My peri menopausal chin keeps spouting hair so I must be 10% male, right?

Frankenterfer · 28/08/2018 20:22

I feel really conflicted because this is someone I am aware of professionally and I didn't know this about them until seeing this post.

I can't really articulate my thinking on it, but yes to the comments about establishing career, family, then doing this and being reduced to a slight frame / figure.

The article "deadnames" the transgender person sixteen times. This includes an advert for the person's business, which uses the "deadname".

Will the transgender person be changing the name of the business to their feminine name, or will they continue to endure deadnaming distress?

EmeraldVillage · 28/08/2018 20:32

Oh well good to know the subject of the article is of a slight frame. Obviously nothing worse than being a fat woman Hmm

Rebecca36 · 28/08/2018 20:32

Is she even going to bother about having a 'front hole', Caitlynscat? Not all transwomen do by any means - as we all well know - and she does identify as heterosexual.....

Clairvoyant - honestly! How ridiculous.

KimberWozRobbed · 28/08/2018 20:33

The 70%/30% thing makes me think of Buzzfeed quizzes.

ZigZagZebras · 28/08/2018 20:35

Transmedia always seems very into stereotypes but why don't they focus more on 'martin/kate is now doing all the dishes and housework' rather than the 'pretty soft' side of sexism?

Dadsbigsausages · 28/08/2018 20:35

They are continuing to use the 'deadname' as a business name Envy

Very sad for the two wives he's left in the dust, I wonder if there is NHS counselling for them.

I would fucking freak if my husband announced casually he was a cross dresser as if allowing me to make the commitment of children with him without disclosing this only made a lie of his life, not mine.

CaitlynsCat · 28/08/2018 20:37

Well it's convenient, perhaps that the remaining 30% that is male can full in when a man is required, e.g., for certain business engagements or what have you.

You wouldn't want the drudgery of being 100% female.

OP posts:
OlennasWimple · 28/08/2018 20:43

I am going to be male when it's time to do the laundry and do the packed lunches (ie I won't do it) but female when it comes to going shopping and getting my nails done (in glittery pink, natch). Is this how it works?

Ereshkigal · 28/08/2018 20:51

They are continuing to use the 'deadname' as a business name

But it is literal violence Shock

catkind · 28/08/2018 21:01

So, lied to one woman to get her to marry him. Then when that broke down lied to another because he wanted a child. That is thoroughly disgusting behaviour whatever your views on trans issues.

FannyAdmin · 28/08/2018 21:08

Katie’s name will not be considered for the long waiting list for the actual operation to make her into a woman sexually, until she has lived full-time for a woman as a year.

^Yes, all women are are sex objects with soft skin and slight frames.

The operation won’t make Katie a lesbian, as the is already recognised by the NHS as female, so technically, she already is.

^What does this mean? I suppose it's saying that Katy is recognised by the NHS as female, so she's already a lesbian. I think Katy said that she's heterosexual though.

FannyAdmin · 28/08/2018 21:11

Sorry, my italicising when wrong 😬.

I don't get it. Katy says that she's heterosexual. She wants to have bottom surgery and have sex with women. What women might be attracted to Katy at that point? Homosexual ones.

Why can Katy can handle becoming a woman (in her eyes), but not a lesbian?

NothingOnTellyAgain · 28/08/2018 21:23

"They showed me how to do my make-up and I would go shopping with them"

Nothing to do with stereotypes though obv.
