Let’s talk about how safeguarding is being disregarded

It seems like safeguarding is being thrown out the window in favour of gender ideology.
Many of us on this site work in social care, teaching, health care and similar professions where we are well versed in safeguarding principles. Many of us struggle to see such a core framework thrown out in favour of protecting feelings.

Perhaps we should go through point by point and provide evidence of how and why safeguarding principles, procedures and practices are being thwarted and broken down?

I understand exactly what you mean Beachcomber

I've had a mansplain regarding the issue regarding the basis that the current expose regarding David Challenor will inflame the 'paedophiles are around every corner and won't someone please think of the children' At that point I rolled my eyes.

The sexual abuse of children and women is endemic in the UK and this is an issue often brushed under the carpet.

Opps way to many regarding in that post. I hope you get my gist.

I just don't understand why when the vulnerablities of children and young people questioning their gender identity are repeated so often by TRAs, that there isn't consideration, concern or care for this.

This is the question I can't stop asking myself.

I mean, I disagree with (obviously) but can understand the disregard for the privacy and dignity of girls. If you're a passionate follower of the gender identity religion, you believe this is irrelevant.

But to put the very kids you are advocating for at increased risk of abuser infiltration? There is no palatable reason for this that I can imagine or conceive at all.

I have to step away from this subject at times as - just like all the women on here - I find it unbelievable that the DfE, the NHS, politicians, charities, despite everything we know about safeguarding are allowing the basic principles to be trashed in this way. And yes, it is those 'gender non-conforming' children who are being specifically targeted and removed from the care of parents and responsible adults.

I can only think of one reason and it is frankly too awful to contemplate.
We really do need journalists to start investigating this.

looks like the NSPCC haven't shown up #embarrassing

I can think of two. The second one being acceptable collateral damage within the main mission.

WhatTheWatersShowedMe · 30/08/2018 13:33

I absolutely agree, Lang.

Placemats- the "paedogeddon hysteria" stuff seems to get rolled out by men to discredit women's legitimate safety fears, often based on their own horrible childhood experiences of being abused by adults in their families and positions of authority and trust.

Just wanted to mention a public seminar on Mandatory Reporting taking place on 27 September organised by the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse. It seems to be the first of two, the second part is in April. As far as I can see, anybody can attend.

Details, agenda and list of participants here;
