www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-6090055/Suck-d-k-b-s-Woman-loses-NASA-internship-following-profanity-laden-tweet.html?login

I get cross at these stories as this is clearly a TW not a woman and people like this are giving women a bad name.

So many comments under the article saying how rude women are getting nowadays. Thinking this is a biological woman. I cannot imagine any biological woman getting accepted onto a NASA internship and behaving like this.

Aside from the specifically sexual nature of the insult, I don't think there is anything else to indicate that the intern wasn't a woman, is there? It was a very silly thing for them to do anyway.

Gingernaut · 23/08/2018 14:35

How do you know Naomi is a transwoman?

busyboysmum · 23/08/2018 14:36

Just seen this comment below:

"Naomi H is a trans woman. So in reality, a biological male with an actual D. This is typical of how trans identified males behave. This is the kind of stuff they say to women that are uncomfortable sharing locker rooms, domestic violence shelters, and hospital rooms with. They are unhinged and aggressive males that are having their delusions validated instead of getting proper treatment. Good on NASA for pulling his internship. I'm sure the women there feel safer not to have to walk on eggshells around this "woman."

That's on the comments presumably from someone who knows of this individual on Twitter.

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 23/08/2018 15:16

The strongly sex specific nature of the insult rather gave that away!

Gingernaut · 23/08/2018 15:18

Just come from a thread where someone has posted a near identical comment.

All about furries.....

Racecardriver · 23/08/2018 15:23

Sure if you were actually a woman you wouldn't be so blaze about telling people to suck your dick and balls if you were unfortunate enough to have them?

OctaviaOctober · 23/08/2018 15:38

I've just been reading the Daily Mail comments on this. They aren't moderating, probably because they think it's about an uppity girl getting her comeuppance so everyone should get the chance to pile on.

nocoolnamesleft · 23/08/2018 17:26

Hmmm, they claim they're not moderating, but that's the second of my attempts at posting on it that didn't appear. For a control measure, posting on a different thread did work.

I have no idea whether this is a trans woman or a woman. But it is a VERY male thing to have said...

TheDropBear · 23/08/2018 17:41

Twitter is deleted now but you can still see some of the old description on google. Has she/her in the description so probably trans as women don't tend to need to specify that.

Aside from the trans issue I'm surprised Homer Hickam is trying to help her get her job back. He did nothing wrong and she behaved completely inappropriately.

It's unprofessional conduct of a kind very likely to bring the organisation into disrepute.

I wouldn't want this person working in my organisation with a foul mouth and disrespectful behaviour like this.

TransplantsArePlants · 23/08/2018 17:59

TheDropBear

Does it really say 'she pretends to be a deer..."?

This is too good. Another opportunity to link Deer Club (from Childrens comedy Prog Sorry I've Got No Head):

StealthPolarBear · 23/08/2018 18:05

Do humans now seriously identify as animals? What does that mean

VickyEadie · 23/08/2018 18:06

Do humans now seriously identify as animals? What does that mean

Oh yes! Google otherkin...

AsAProfessionalFekko · 23/08/2018 18:07

I thought it was a weird Japanese inspired thing where they dressed up like my little pony or teddy bears and had sex.

TransplantsArePlants · 23/08/2018 18:11

Seriously, if you haven't watched it, watch my little clip. It was such a good kids' programme. Used to really tickle mine when they were young

FloralBunting · 23/08/2018 19:40

I'm Sorry I've got No Head was class. That and Horrible Histories made for some very enjoyable afternoons.

NotTerfNorCis · 23/08/2018 19:51

'Identifies as a furry.'

No fetish to see here. Nope. Nothing fetish-related.

Haworthia · 23/08/2018 19:55

Ohhhh. Now it makes sense.

Because I saw this earlier, and wondered why a young woman (since it was an internship, I figured this person would be early 20s) would even say “suck my cock and balls”. I figured they were being obtuse and didn’t actually possess a cock and balls. Silly me.

I believed it was a woman because the headline said so. Silly me.

iklboo · 23/08/2018 20:02

Hell hath no furry.....

CoteDAzur · 23/08/2018 20:10

"Do humans now seriously identify as animals? What does that mean"

If men can identify as women, why shouldn't humans identify as animals?

AsAProfessionalFekko · 23/08/2018 20:27

We had a dog that really thought she was people...

ijustwannadance · 23/08/2018 20:42

Odd that is says, "Naomi, who claims to be 21"

Annoys me the tone of the comments.
'Silly little girl' 'vulgar woman' etc.
If they knew it was a male it would be completely different.

Can't believe the dickhead friends using the NASA hashtag though. Thick as mince.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 23/08/2018 20:43

Maybe nasa had a quota to fill.

Cwenthryth · 23/08/2018 21:03

Ok, I agree, it is infuriating that someone who is not a woman, claims to be one and then ‘gives us a bad name’ with male type behaviour. And yes, there is an illustration of the fetish link common amongst that community, something we are all concerned about and a major reason why many people oppose self-ID.

However - what do you actually want to do about it, or think this person shouldn’t be permitted or able to do?

Unless this person has taken an internship designated as women-only, I wouldn’t actually want to prevent this person from doing any of the things they seem to be doing. If they want to call themselves Naomi, dress in a stereotyped way, ask to be referred to as she/her (they can ask, we don’t have to obey!), pretend they are a deerHmm, fuck up an opportunity of a lifetime by publicly being an immature arse on social media.....fine by me. Go. Do those things! I can still see that you’re male, and I don’t think you should be able to legally register as female anywhere, but I have no actual moral objection to this person doing the things the article describes.

DuckingGoodPJs · 23/08/2018 22:47

Just how often is everyone told to suck a TW's dick and balls? Seems to be a theme, and a bit of a self-outing as trans tbh. Sarah 'Pickled Balls' Brown, Danielle 'Happy IWD Suck My Cock' Muscato.

They aren't moderating, probably because they think it's about an uppity girl getting her comeuppance so everyone should get the chance to pile on.
This is what exposes the lie that they are treated like women. It was disappointing to see the backtrack by Homer Hickam once he realised the intern was not actually an uppity foul-mouthed female, but a TW.

Hickam: 'I'm doing all I can to secure her one that will be better than the one she lost,' he said.

Elizabethan Theatre. It sure is one way to get around those pesky equality quotas of hiring more women into male-dominated sectors.
