Why do TRAs keep using black women when defending TWAW?

I saw this tweet the other day, and it never fails to shock me when they keep using this argument.

They've been asked not to, and been told why it's offensive, so why do they persist?

Do they honestly think it will endear others to their cause?

I really don't get how they even thought it made sense, or was relevant. To me it makes no sense at all as the 2 subjects have absolutely nothing in common.

They also don't seem to be worried about it alienating people.

It's a bit like saying seahorses are the same as black horses, when they're so obviously not.

It's because they seem themselves as an oppressed minority in the same way as black people are an oppressed minority fighting for their rights.

It's a deliberately false equivalence designed to make people think that transphobic is the same sort of thing as racism.

Because they want to be bottom of the oppression heap. They work out who they think most people see as oppressed and try to compare themselves to them and then try to slip under them.

Generally speaking there does seem to be overlap between male supremacy and white supremacy.

Some people seem to see womanhood as a prize that they get to take from us because they're more important. The (racist) argument then is: you can't give the prize to these even less important people and still justify withholding it from me

I knew you could be a woman and have a ladypenis. I didn't know that your skin wasn't allowed to be dark if you were to qualify as a woman, irrespective of genitals and chromosomes.

But if you saw a group of black women in the street, and you wanted to refer to them, you'd just call them women. Unless you're racist, then you might make the distinction of them being black.

In addition to the above, because white men are over-represented in the TRA movement and it doesn't really occur to them that the person that they are engaging with on SM might not also be white (because white is their default). It's supposed to guilt trip the other person, whilst establishing their own "woke dude bro" credentials

No one decent wants to be thought of as racist. So if someone’s arguing with you all you have to do is insinuate in some way that they are racist/bigoted etc. Now your opponent is on the back foot, having to explain that they aren’t racist and they are not able to argue the point that they were making.

It stops the argument dead.

Should also say that women are socialised to JADE ( justify apologise defend and explain) so this also appeals to that.

Truly not really, re-colour and re-slap yourself.

Maybe this person doesn't think any women are truly women, regardless of their skin colour. Words usually trip people up in the end.

Because they are narcissistic types who are only concerned with beating you in an argument. They have no empathy or moral compass.

I find this parroting back of your words even though they don't make any sense quite a common tactic of transactivists.

I think this is why they aren’t getting anywhere.

I know what I know. I don’t care if someone is black, white, brown, gay, straight, rich, poor, upper class, working class, middle class whatever. I don’t care if you wear a bikini or a hijab or anything in between. I don’t care my friend James wears make up and shaves his legs. I don’t care that someone I know is now called Jessica when she used to be Stan (all names changed for privacy).

I know I’m not a bigot. I know what’s real and what isn’t. Biology is real. The rights of one group don’t mean they can walk over the rights of another.

Never mind false equivalence. The equating of black women to TWs is an outright racist (and misogynist) statement. When a white man says it (and it always is a white man) he is calling up centuries of history in which black women have been considered lesser than white women, and not just lesser in the simple racist sense but less female. More masculine. Less "beautiful". It is about the most dog-whistling, loaded, history-ridden thing that white man can say, short of what he really thinks which is that black women are not really human at all.

It is a truly vile comparison to make.

Because they're good cover - like the wolf in RRH who dresses up as Gran - your mind really doesn't want to hold the extremes of Loving Gran and Dangerous Predator - thus those opposite ends of the spectrum thoughts causes cognitive dissonance - stops a person dead in their tracks from confusion normally.

The extremes are "I am not a racist" and then being accused of being a "racist/bigot". It "throws one off".

That's what predators want - that moment of confusion/shock - they sense the vulnerability of their target and move in with more attacks using false facts. It's designed to silence the opposition.

The same tactics are used by abusers in coercive control /intimate partner violence. Those same tactics are utilised by politicians to confuse the electorate to get their way (Brexit).
