Blimey - either they're really slow and crap ineffective or they've uncovered a hornet's nest...

Rose of Dawn mentions Bradley in latest YouTube piece and says that NUS has not announced any updates. Interestingly, NUS said, "No comment" to Rose of Dawn's questions, including whether or not NUS is funding Carter Ruck:

Let's hope that they haven't been convinced that an announcement on this case would prejudice the current Government Consultation on gender self-id eh?

Because that would be very wrong.

I'm sure this wouldn't happen by the way.

womensvoicesmatter · 17/09/2018 12:18

NUS is trans central. They're probably working out how to do the minimum they have to legally, while not alienating their members.

I have been wondering the same thing. But surely no-one would ever try to manipulate a democratic public consultation, would they?

R0wantrees · 17/09/2018 12:35

Floisme

I'm pretty sure that Rose of Dawn quoted the protocol with timings for disciplinary matters (they were somewhere on this thread too)

There are other outstanding questions eg from Stonewall about their role with regards Aimee Challenor.

Its curious that the converse eg the private prosecution of Venice Allen and Linda Bellos will happen within the consultation period.

Coincidence Im sure.

Floisme · 17/09/2018 12:45

Yes very curious indeed.

I wonder if the Universities minister is aware of the issue. As JB was susended during the summer break.

He was very quick to act back in March when newly into role with regards the importance of free speech on campuses:
Times article:
"Sam Gyimah, the universities minister, will announce tough guidance on the issue at a meeting today, calling attempts to silence debate “chilling”.

He will accuse some student societies of “institutional hostility” to certain unfashionable but perfectly lawful views. A “murky” legal landscape, with guidance from various regulators, lets zealots censor those with whom they disagree, Mr Gyimah will say."

Hi. Jess? How's it hangin'?

UpstartCrow · 17/09/2018 13:07

That is a rhetorical question btw.

The complaints procedure is confidential

Isn't it best practice for the process for complaints to be open and transparent?

Procrastinator1 · 18/09/2018 13:35

Can’t copy and paste, but rumours on Twitter that a six month suspension has been agreed for Bradley.@NalediSpaceLaw who have an interest in space and gender criticism.
No idea if it’s correct but wouldn’t surprise me.

BettyDuMonde · 18/09/2018 13:48

With or without pay?

Because with pay is just a 6 month holiday.

hackmum · 18/09/2018 13:54

Isn't it best practice for the process for complaints to be open and transparent?

Particularly given that the NUS is funded by the taxpayer. I'd like to know if my money is being used to pay the salaries of sex offenders who are also engaged in campaigning to change the law in a way that would make it easier for people to indulge their particular sexual deviance.

nauticant · 18/09/2018 13:57

That wouldn't be such a bad outcome as far as I'm concerned. Jess Bradley continuing to be a high-profile transwoman is useful. Whenever they make a media appearance their fetishes will help the gender critical argument. "Oh, them, the transwoman who gets a sexual thrill from flashing their penis in public".

They're also a good example that trans-Teflon is a real thing. Is it really so wonderfully progressive for some people with fetishes to be mostly impervious to disciplinary proceedings?

OrchidInTheSun · 18/09/2018 14:03

It also completely destroys the myth that all people who call themselves trans suffer from crippling gender dysphoria, given the enthusiasm which Jess appears to have shown for getting their cock out in public

The complaints procedure is confidential Isn't that what was done with catholic priests, then they were shipped off somewhere else where they could do less damage..........Hmm

nauticant · 18/09/2018 14:16

That works for me too. One of the most marginal, most oppressed group in the country is impervious to disciplinary proceedings for displaying their genitals at work because they are able to get Carter Ruck to lean on the NUS.

Just like any other woman.

paintedwingsandgiantrings · 18/09/2018 14:22

Nad have they reported him to the police for the illegal content of his blog?

Procrastinator1 · 18/09/2018 14:32

Was it the Manchester police who wanted to be tweeted if people were a bit upset?

hackmum · 18/09/2018 14:41

Nothing at all to stop one of us reporting Bradley to the police.
