Lots of information about GiRES:

gendertrender.wordpress.com/tag/gires/

Ereshkigal · 18/08/2018 15:38

What’s interesting is that GIRES is basically part of the UK government. They are “partners” with the Surrey and Borderss^ NHS PartnershipFoundation Trustt which is their largest funder, and they co-produce educational materials on gender for providers together [PDF]].

In addition, GIRES claims at least 79 “corporate members” of their group, including the Office for Nuclear Regulationn^, Imperial College Londonn^, South East Coast Ambulance Service, Learning and skills improvement servicee^, Royal College of Nursing, Royal College of General Practitioners, among others. They were awarded the Orders of the British Empiree^ in 2010. They donated over fifty thousand dollars to WPATH (World Professional Association of Transgender Health) ostensibly to fund foreign language translations of the lobbying group’s standards of care. They are the establishment. A revolutionary besieged minority group fighting the power they are not. They are the power of the state. They are the state.

Erishkigal
I wonder how many other campaigning / lobby groups have such a presence in the centre of government and so much funding? The one positive is that as the lawsuits start coming in it will be simplicity itself to identify the government departments responsible for the harm - thus ensuring some mega financial payouts.

Ereshkigal · 18/08/2018 16:11

Indeed.

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 18/08/2018 17:04

This whole thing is flesh crawling. How did they grease their way into everything?

Melamin · 18/08/2018 18:03

Clarice - if you look up Jess Bradley on You Tube there is a vagina monologues thing. I didn't watch it - I had had enough when I saw it Hmm

Melamin · 18/08/2018 18:04
Here it is.
Melamin · 18/08/2018 18:11

I wonder how many other campaigning / lobby groups have such a presence in the centre of government It was all part of the Cameron Government - putting things out to the 'third sector' like probation services.

Jo's Trust gets a lot of mentions in govt stuff, but they are kept in line by a very strong evidence based govt screening programme which does most of its own, evidence lead information.

The trans lobby groups have a very loose definition of evidence lead.

Ereshkigal · 18/08/2018 18:13

"Big Society"

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 18/08/2018 22:17

Thanks Melamin - Jess Bradley has got some brass balls doing that!

thebewilderness · 18/08/2018 22:17

They called it contracting out in the US when they decided to sell government services provisions to the highest bidder, or the low bidder if it was a friend. The suffering this caused has been immense.

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 19/08/2018 09:17

Watching Jess Bradley's penis/vagina monologue I am still creeped out by the expert emotional blackmail.

The demure body language throughout, the complaints about all the expensive and invasive appointments etc. It was a well-thought out propaganda piece. One thing we can tell about Jess Bradley in recent developments is that 'she' is not dysphoric about 'her' penis.

I am still flabbergasted about the misogyny and male entitlement of Bradley using the VM (- a theatre piece to help women love their demonised bodies) to promote transfer propaganda lies to erode women's boundaries.

Jess's VA piece is all 'you lucky ladies have all got vaginas but I am too poor and humble to buy one of me own'. The whole thing was so expertly manipulated and acted JB even got enthusiastic cheers on finishing.

LangCleg · 19/08/2018 09:41

Just as I think there is no lower these anti-woman extremists can go, someone tells me about Jess Bradley's Vagina Monologue take off. Sigh.

R0wantrees · 19/08/2018 09:48

Jess Bradley VM concluding sentence,

"Maybe my vagina looks like a penis- and thats ok, for now at least"

Article shared by Rose of Dawn:
'DISAFFILIATE NOW: A LIBERALIST TAKE ON THE FAILURE OF THE NUS – PART 1: FEUDAL FEUDING'

The author, Alison Ordnung exmines NUS representation from a liberalist perspective.
The section about the Liberation groups is particularly relevent to this tread:

Previously it has been discussed that is a person identifies as non binary trans woman and is attracted to women or queer they can represent NUS Trans, LGBT+ and Women's groups. example
(extract)
"Consequently, the women’s society includes many who aren’t women by their own identification – they identify as non-binary, genderqueer, or genderfluid, but still have a seat at the table of the Women’s campaign. To say the NUS Women’s campaign represents women is deeply misleading. If you don’t share their identity politics, you will likely have nothing to do with them, beyond funding them.

The Liberation officers are voted in at their own conferences, attendance of which is de facto limited. Consequently, with identity politics in effect voting is also limited within the conferences caucuses – this results in tiny numbers of voters granting grand sounding positions:

NUS Trans Officer – (61 votes, ran unopposed)
NUS Trans Campaign – Black Students Officer (6 votes, ran unopposed)
NUS Women’s Officer – (111 votes, ran unopposed)
NUS Women’s Lesbian Officer – (8 Votes, unopposed)
NUS LGBT Disabled Students Rep – (14 votes, unopposed)
NUS LGBT Open Place – (144 Votes, Contested)
NUS LGBT Women’s Place – (56 Votes, Contested)
NUS LGBT Black Students – (14 Votes, Uncontested)
NUS Trans FE Representative – (2 Votes, Unopposed)
In the 2018/19 Women’s committee only 2 of the 9 positions were contested, the rest being mere formalities. Women make up the majority of students, but 111 votes in an uncontested election selected their representative."

Picture from article
Eden Ladley NUS LGBT+ Women's place also NEC second place (1st is Jess Bradley). Eden Ladley is a trans woman who has worked very closely with Jess Bradley. Recently on Young Labour panel with Jess Bradley and Lily Madigan:

Rob Noon NUS LGBT+ Open Place. Rob Noon is a trans man who has been very closely involved with Jess Bradley for some time (see Twitter #tiredtransontrains) and an active campaigner especially for Action for Trans Health (he held the banner at the protest where Bradley was bundled out of the way by pipers)
www.nusconnect.org.uk/elected-officers/lgbt-officer-open-place

Also relevent, Rowan Davies (non binary trans women) was NUS Woman's and co-ran the 'How to Deal with Terfs workshop with Eden Ladley. Rowan Davies with Eden Ladley nominated Jess Bradley for the 2017 NUS Trans Officer role.

Jess Bradley - a government advisor on women's rights suspended by NUS over indecent blog. Part iii
R0wantrees · 19/08/2018 12:38

A recent response to the BMJ article concludes with dismissal of Action For Trans Health's demands:
'Re: Trans health needs more and better services: increasing capacity, expertise, and integration'

"While the proposal to measure outcomes and experience of those receiving interventions is to be welcomed, there is a vital opportunity, and ethical imperative, to create an ongoing cohort study for all those referred, so that outcomes can be measured at a population level over time. We disagree with the campaign group Action for Trans Health’s claim that ‘the continued existence of GICs amounts to wilful abuse of trans people’.(7) People who are questioning their identity or see themselves as transgender should have access to high quality joined-up and person-centred healthcare based on good evidence. Creating that evidence to inform quality standards is imperative."

Also relevent:
"GPs are portrayed as reluctant to engage, and yet the BMA General Practitioner Committee (3) is clear they should not be expected to provide ‘bridging’ prescriptions for those who have started taking internet acquired hormonal medication without specialist support.
Proposed ‘terminology’ may mislead and fudges the reality of biological sexual dimorphism. Sex is not “assigned”, but determined at conception and in early embryonic life. Biological characteristics of male and female have “historically” been observed at birth and likely this will continue. Sex should not be confused with gender - a social construct. Although internal subjective identity, legal status and external appearance can change or be re-aligned, a person’s underlying biological sex cannot."

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 19/08/2018 20:37

Does anyone know who else was informed about the blog apart from the NHS and the twitter thread?

Upthread people were talking about the possible illegality of even cartoons showing sex abuse of minors, and I wonder of the blog is a police matter and whether the NUS have a duty to involve the police.

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 19/08/2018 20:38

Sorry about autocorrect to NHS should be NUS

R0wantrees · 19/08/2018 20:50

I wonder how many other campaigning / lobby groups have such a presence in the centre of government It was all part of the Cameron Government - putting things out to the 'third sector' like probation services

2010 article:
'David Cameron warns lobbying is next political scandal
David Cameron will introduce measures to curb the lobbying industry to ensure that attempts by business to seek influence on Government policy does not become the next big political scandal.'

Hmm
hooochycoo · 19/08/2018 22:26

Still NUS and media silence on this?

Stickerladiesoftheworldunite · 20/08/2018 01:09

Yes, Rose of the Dawn reported on Twitter a few days ago that NUS had confirmed the investigation was ongoing.

Meanwhile, the NUS has issued its giidance on how to complete the GRA consultation. They've nailed their colours to the mast, prompting the question, did Jess Bradley write the guidance?

NUS LGBT is blocking everyone (including lesbians) who may actually agree with Stickerwoman.

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 20/08/2018 15:55

I just glanced at the NUS guidelines and noticed that they encourage 'women's officers' to respond. Then doesn't advise anything in women's interests.

I bet you Bradley had a hand in that. It reads like 'give penises whatever they want and whenever they want'.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 20/08/2018 17:22

It's a bit unfortunate for Bradley that these threads are still going, and that we still haven't stopped talking about their alleged public masturbation, and alleged publication of indecent images of minors...

NUS' silence on this is very telling.
