When I think of the generation of young women now believing themselves to be trans (and taking testosterone and having full mastectomies) in the context of online grooming and male pattern abuse, I find my mind wandering to a very dark place.

Is it possible that some predators would actually get a kick out of anonymously power tripping teenage girls (and boys, but mostly girls) into self mutilation?

It is form of grooming whichever way you look at it.

The public are being brainwashed on a massive scale and the terrible thing is, they can't or won't see it.
When will people wake up?

PencilTroll · 01/08/2018 21:37

Long time lurker here going to just add my tuppence worth re the third type....
There seems to be a type, a young man, 18-30ish, usually straight but could be gay too, the nerdy kind who intensely plays computer games and lives deeply in the online world with a feeling of almost complete insignificance in the real world. Egged on and joined by online peers and associates, becomes obsessive about demanding real life respect and I suggest deep feelings of angst, irrelevance and invisibility drive them to do the only thing they can see will give them the real life significance and poss adoration they crave, becoming trans. Instant attention, folks giving a fuck about their feelings for the first time, maybe even being asked for their views or to sit in a position of power like as a representative.
I think they also seem to hate girls and women poss due to being heavily rejected pre being trans.
Just my thoughts and perhaps obvious, or maybe way off the mark. There do seem to be common themes with the younger ones...
Keep up the good work ladies.

JB is 27, surely? Completed undergrad degree at Bradford then moved to Manchester for post grad. Has knocked around a bit in student politics - voila, 27

OlennasWimple · 01/08/2018 21:42

Sorry, time line wrong...

Completed undergrad at Bradford; started post grad there but switched to Manchester to complete their masters. Two years ago was doing their PhD; now full time student politico

Ie has to be at least 27

(Oh, and used to be a prostitute )

PencilTroll

Interesting theory. There certainly does seem to be a dearth of successful, good looking, popular trans activists.

thebewilderness · 01/08/2018 21:44

Referred to numerous times as in the thirties. No reason to think anything they say about themselves is true at this point.

@materialist They need transmen in order to sever or inhibit commonality between straight women and lesbians. Lesbians have always been the advance guard of feminism, for good reason. Lesbians “becoming” men potentially strikes a knife to the heart of feminism.

YYY. Encouraging female youth to become transmen before they have a chance to analyse and see that the problem is male dominance and not their bodies stops young women, especially lesbians and gender-nonconforming girls ("tomboys") who are natural feminists because they reject feminuty and are punished for it, from becoming feminists by diverting them into a simulacrum of manhood. The lesbian desisters we see are survivors of this.

This is a feature, not a bug, designed to kill feminism at its root.

This strikes an icy chill deep into my bones - the truth of this statement resonates so personally about my own trans child. Ripping daughters from their mothers and ensuring the daughters are sterilised means the female line is severed.

JBandzirProBoner · 01/08/2018 22:03

JB's age is a shifting constellation. As you were.

BettyDuMonde · 01/08/2018 22:10

Transage - totally a thing now. Transpecies too - who wants to speculate on JB’s spirit animal?

The screenshot I posted of a PDF from companies house earlier has ‘Mx Josh Bradley’ DOB 3/11/1988

29 (and a half)

silentcrow · 01/08/2018 22:18

PencilTroll sounds very like a description of young men who get caught up in fundamentalism of all kinds - PUAs, MRAs, religious groups, white nationalists etc. Except that the young men who go the trans route perhaps can't deal with the "alpha maleness" of it? Or are actually gay and turn the homophobia in on themselves? The methods of sucking these young men in are pretty much the same, and I'm willing to bet it would be similar to techniques that drew people into cults before we had the internet.

dianebrewster · 01/08/2018 22:20

The third demographic remind me of the young men I used to meet in the sci fi fandom world, and in my work in computer science. They inhabit a rich fantasy world, usually created by someone else (a tv show or a game) they appropriate a role within that world, wear the TShirt - or the full authentic costume - bought at auction. They only have friends within that community and it absorbs all of their emotional energy. It's as real, if not more real, to them as what we might consider reality. Think the geeky kids in Galaxy Quest.

I don't think they have any interest in breaking out of their fantasy world, on the contrary, trying to convince them it's a fantasy just makes them angry. Woman really is a costume for them.

I almost feel pity for this third type...it's only natural to want to feel special, and valued, and loved. If 'the real you' isn't achieving that very well, then the temptation to 'become' trans might well seem quite appealing in a living-fantasy kind of way.

But then I remember how this is all playing out for women and children, and my empathy mysteriously vanishes. Wink

NotMeOhNo · 01/08/2018 22:48

The third type sound like the incel/braincel/trancel MRA type. They hate women so much that this is a way to humiliate and control us.

I feel the pain in your statement to the bottom of my soul.

This bond is one of the strongest that exists in the human world. I would put my life down to defend it.

And with those words, you pointed to the heart of the matter for me.

nauticant · 01/08/2018 23:02

I see the gender ideology in a similar way Materialist. As I become more convinced about how much this is to do with mental illness, it does my head in to see this all being redefined so that any mental illness component simply cannot be present.

hipsterfun · 01/08/2018 23:13

Why was Materialist deleted?

I think I’m coming to the same conclusion, tbh.

From upthread:

Many young women have, through open hearted liberalism and goodwill, been cheated by the trans agenda.

In my organisation (that for a number of reasons really ought to have more sense on this issue) has a lot of young women like this, all working very hard to promote the agenda; I worry for them if when the scales fall from their eyes.

hipsterfun · 01/08/2018 23:15

‘there are’ not ‘has’

JillyArmeeen · 01/08/2018 23:21

Agree the third type sounds very much like incels. They want women, and have an idea of what a woman is or should be, but also hate us for everything that we are and the idea we can't live up to.
